Stephen was a great guide!
My husband and I completed a 12-day birding and primate safari with Bushman Safaris. Our driver & guide, Stephen, was fantastic! He’s an excellent birder and an experienced guide and professional. We appreciated all the little details he saw to for us (drinking water, checking us in to the hotels, helping us find an ATM and gum boots, etc.) and felt safe and cared for in his hands. We learned and saw so much because of him! Most of the lodges/camps we stayed in quite lovely with good, healthy food. When organizing the trip, I communicated with Kate who was very professional, organized and clear in her communication. It was mostly because of her that I chose Bushman. Shortly before our trip, Kate left and other staff took over our account. These folks were not as professional or friendly and communication was frustrating. I hope they can improve these skills for future clients. Besides the staff communication, where I think Bushman could improve is being clear about what’s included in an itinerary and how long it realistically takes to get from place to place. (GoogleMaps was typically accurate on driving times.) We spent way more hours in a vehicle than we wanted and went to a few destinations that had little value for us. The roads in Uganda are bad once you get off the main highways, so that’s something that guests should be prepared for. It would have been good to have a focused consultation with them prior to finalizing the itinerary to really understand what to expect.

Unforgettable Experience with Bushman Safaris
We had a fantastic experience with Bushman Safaris. Kate was instrumental in organizing our trip across Uganda and Tanzania, and everything as extremely well coordinated. A highlight of our journey was the incredible gorilla trekking at Mgahinga National Park — truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Throughout the trip, we felt very well looked after. Even when we encountered delays and cancelled flights, Kate stepped in immediately and went above and beyond to support us. Her dedication and professionalism made a real difference, and we’re very grateful for all her help. Highly recommended!

Friendly, accommodating and professional tour with knowledgable and passionate guide
Kate responded quickly with an itinerary already tailored to our initial message. She then was very responsive and flexible to help us adapt the itinerary to our interests and budget. On the safari itself, we had a brilliant time with Rodgers, an experienced and knowledgeable guide. He spotted so many animals we never would have seen without his guidance, and his knowledge of and passion for the flora, fauna and culture of Uganda is unmatched. Well Organized and Unforgettable Experience
Our 3-Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari booked with Bushman Safaris was one of the most extraordinary tours of a lifetime. Kate, the admin who helped us with the booking process, was very informative, answered any questions and concerns we had, made the overall booking process less stressful, and provided us with peace of mind. We stayed in contact with Kate from the time we landed in Uganda, throughout our whole Safari Tour until we left Uganda. We were originally supposed to stay in one of the bush lodges but Kate came through and upgraded us to the amazing Elephant Hab Lodge which had a pool and extraordinary views overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Our Safari guide (Shafic) was probably one of the most knowledgeable tour guides I have ever met. He was very well-versed on all the animals we saw during our game drives and locations we passed. Shafic was entertaining and made the overall Safari experience fun. He also found the time in our schedule, before we left the park to fit Chimpanzee Trekking at the Kyambura Gorge into our Safari Tour which made the overall trip and experience at Queen Elizabeth even more memorable.
Thank You Kate, Shafic, and the entire Bushman Safari Team of Kampala, Uganda for giving us a Safari Experience we will remember for the rest of our lives :). We hope to book with you again in the near future!

Charming and thougtful, considers all possibilities and very pro active
We were helped at every step of the way as regards questions, help with booking, our prefered agenda, even things to do in our free time.
Katy is always available to help you with almost anything.
Ashley our guide on the parks, was a mind of information. We saw 80% of all the expected mammals, but best for us was the identification of almost 300 bird species.
The places we stayed were welcoming clean and friendly. The food was always good (thankyou Dennis) and served at your most convenient time. The evening safaris were lovely and the boat trips extremely fruitful.
Considering the high cost of conservation we considered it to be pretty good value for money.

Perfectly organised trip to a wonderful country
We did an excellent 11- day tour with Bushman and driver/guide Joseph to see all highlights in western Uganda. The tour was very well organised, the hotels were all more than perfect and the activities beyond our expectations. Even when we had a problem with our car Kate organised a new one within a few hours so that our tour was not affected at all.
The tour was perfectly tailored to our wishes and Kate even suggested to add a stop in Rwenzori Mountains as we mentioned that we like hiking. Kate’s planning and professionalism as well as Joseph’s knowledge of western Uganda made the trip an unforgettable experience. We can highly recommend to book a tour with Bushman.

The complete Africa experience
We (me and a friend) booked a 10 day tour with Bushman going past all the highlights of the country with Joseph our personal driver. The program was well thought off - a good variety between safaris and other activities, despite the fact we love animals spending more than 2 days in a row driving through savannah landscape becomes boring - Bushman knows this and therefore makes sure that the program is diverse. We saw the big 5 and leopards in all national parks. We had an encounter with 50 chimpansees and saw a gorilla family with 3 babys. Bushman knows who to contact to give you the best experience. Furthermore the accommodation was amazing, the driving was safe and sound and Joseph became our companion - perfect experience! Extra point was the service: we were picked up from the airport the day before our tour actually started and they were flexible in dropping us off on any location we wanted.

Bushman Safaris is such a great company. Kate was responsive and very easy to work with. She answered all our questions prior to our trip.
Our guide, Ayub was the best! So smart and knew everyone and everything about the country. He kept us informed while we traveled around and made sure we were comfortable.
Our safari experience was fantastic , from the game drives to the chimpanzees, golden monkeys and the most thrilling silver back gorillas. We were immersed
in the local culture in all our locations.

5 stars! From the moment you first message Bushman’s safaris you will be impressed by their professionalism and friendliness. Organizer Kate is 1 of the most organized people I have come across. She goes above and beyond. We booked a 6 day tour and were lucky enough to get guide Joseph. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable on all things Uganda. We had some amazing experiences with animals (Gorillas, Chimps and Lions)
The accommodation Bushmans provide are all 1st class for different reasons. Chimp lodge (Incredible views and peaceful) Bush lodge (Hippos right outside your accommodation) Ride 4 a women (Outstanding community work). Bushman’s really know how to organize a tour! Doubt you will find a better company. Highly recommend!!!
The best safari ever!
Bushman Safaris is hands down the best safari company you could book. Kate was incredible and handled everything for me when planning and booking my safari. Everything was perfect, down to the smallest details. And my guide, Ayub, was incredibly knowledgable and helpful throughout my 11 day safari. From Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks for game drives (including one night game drive which was extra special) to Kibale for chimp trekking and Mgahinga for gorilla trekking the entire tour was spectacular. Couldn't have asked for a better holiday.
