To confirm a booking, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total tour cost is required. The remaining balance must be paid in full before the commencement of the tour, unless otherwise agreed in writing. All prices are quoted in USD and are based on two people sharing a room (twin/double). A single supplement will apply for solo travelers or those requesting a single room. Payments can be made via bank transfer or secure online payment links.
2. Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your tour, you must notify us in writing. The following cancellation fees apply:
More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit (20%).
30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost.
Less than 30 days before departure or no-show: 100% of the total tour cost.
No refunds will be given for unused services, early departure, or missed activities due to circumstances beyond our control.
3. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients joining our tours. Your insurance must cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, personal accident, cancellation, and loss of personal belongings. Simien Mountain Tours does not provide travel insurance and will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to lack of adequate insurance.
4. Passports, Visas, and Health
It is the client's sole responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity), the correct visa for entry into Ethiopia (e-visas are available online), and any required health certificates (such as Yellow Fever). Simien Mountain Tours is not responsible for clients denied boarding or entry into Ethiopia due to incomplete documentation.
5. Itinerary Changes and Delays
We reserve the right to alter or modify itineraries due to weather conditions, road closures, vehicle breakdowns, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. In the Simien Mountains, park regulations and local conditions may require changes. While we will always strive to provide the best possible experience, we cannot be held liable for delays caused by domestic flights, road conditions, or acts of God. Any additional costs incurred due to such delays will be the responsibility of the client.
6. Liability
Simien Mountain Tours acts as an agent for the hotels, transport providers, and other suppliers used during the tour. We are not liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity caused by these third-party suppliers. By booking a tour with us, you acknowledge that adventure travel in Ethiopia carries inherent risks, and you agree to participate at your own risk.
7. Acceptance of Terms
By paying the deposit, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions on behalf of all members of their traveling party.
