Savanna Safaris & Tours is an owner-run safari operator based in Botswana. We specialize in two core experiences: fully serviced mobile camping safaris within Botswana, and regional fly-in holiday packages to permanent lodges in Botswana and across Southern Africa at large.
With over 34 years of personal experience in the African tourism industry, our focus is on providing reliable operations, practical comfort, and personalized service.
Our Core Services
Fully Serviced Mobile Camping Safaris
We operate mobile safaris in Botswana covering Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and through to Chobe and Victoria Falls. Our camping setups are designed for comfort in the bush. We use large Sahara tents measuring 5.6m long, 2.9m wide, and 2.5m high. Each tent is equipped with a double or twin beds, proper mattresses, and full bedding. Tents feature an attached ensuite drop-toilet and a traditional bucket shower. All meals, drinks are provided, with a dedicated, well-set-up dining tent. Regional Fly-In Packages

Our History and Leadership
Our co-founders, Emmelyn and Fred, started their careers in the travel and tourism industry in 1990’s in Arusha, Tanzania, where they conducted safaris across Tanzania and Kenya. They later relocated to Botswana, expanding their knowledge to cover major destinations across Southern Africa.
In 1996, Fred worked as the Ground and Logistics Manager for the well-known safari operator Sir Soren Lindstrom on mobile camping safaris in Botswana’s national parks. In this role, he managed camps operations.
Today, Fred serves as the Head of our Camping Team. To ensure that everything runs on schedule and that camp services meet our standards, he personally accompanies most of our camping safaris in Botswana, his passion for cooking and fresh food is consistently highlighted by our guests.
