Prime Safaris provided an excellent safari experience.
5/5

I can’t say enough good things about the 5-day safari organized for me by Prime Safaris. From my initial email exchange with Cate right through until my guide dropped me off at the airport, I felt that their first priority was providing me with exactly the kinds of activities and accommodations that I would most enjoy. My guide, Arshley Brian, was extremely knowledgeable about Uganda’s abundant wildlife. His patient willingness to answer my many questions and his ability to spot birds and animals made the Safari a rich, exciting, unforgettable experience.

Wonderful Uganda Vacation with Amazing Guide Eddy
5/5

Our plan was to do Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. This was our first trip to Africa and we were apprehensive of how it would go. We wanted it to go flawlessly without any issues. Thanks to Prime Safaris & Tours our trip to Uganda turned out to be a memorable one. From the day we began our trip from our hotel in Entebbe to the time we returned back to our hotel – Prime Safaris & Tours made sure that we were safe, comfortable, and had the best time ever. Many thanks to Prime Safaris & Tours for making this happen.

Since this was our first trip to Africa we were not sure of where to begin. Using the ratings on Trip Advisor we contacted few tour operators in Uganda. We also reached out to few reviewers on Trip Advisor. Response from Cate of Prime Safaris & Tours was amazing. He responded the very next day with four different itineraries which not only included the Gorilla Trekking but also provided additional things we could do on the way to and back from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Through the next three months Cate patiently responded to over 40+ emails answering all our questions. Cate’s detailed and prompt responses made us feel comfortable and as we continued the email exchanges we felt even better working with Prime Safaris & Tours. Cate’s suggestions on various aspects of the trip was very useful and valuable.

Eddy, our guide was an amazing person and a great guide. He was courteous, kind, and took very good care of us - from the time he picked us up from the hotel in Entebbe to the time he dropped us off at the same hotel four days later - we were in good hands. He made sure that everything went off very well. As we drove through Uganda and did game drives and went from one place to another Eddy shared lots of information about national parks, its animals, Uganda, its history, culture, and its people.

The planning and arrangements made by Cate at various hotels was excellent. He chose some of the best lodges for us. Each lodge had its own unique features and flavors, locations were great, rooms were nice, and the folks at these lodges treated us extremely well. By selecting excellent places for us to stay, Prime Safari & Tours made our trip especially memorable. There were two outstanding lodges where we were treated exceptionally well by their staff – Mazike Valley Lodge and Buhoma Lodge.

We were very fortunate to have found Prime Safaris & Tours to help us plan and execute a memorable and lasting memory of Uganda for us. Thank you. We will definitely use Prime Safaris & Tours on our future trips to Uganda.

Stephen, an extremely knowledgeable guide led us on our 4-day gorilla safari and lifetime dream.
5/5

We were picked up at our hotel in Kampala at 6 AM, which began our 4-Day Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari. For close to 8 hours we traveled towards our first days destination of Queen Elizabeth NP, passing through towns and villages loaded with views of people, housing, agriculture and businesses. Our first glances at the beauty of Uganda. Arrived at our lodging for a lunch stop before taking a late afternoon cruise on Kazinga Channel, where we were treated to sightings of elephants, hippos, buffalo, birds and more. Returned to lodging for a delicious dinner and some discussion with Stephen, our guide, about what tomorrow would bring.
Day 2 had us driving through the Queen Elizabeth NP in the morning where we spotted our first of many lions, lots of zebra and giraffes also. The afternoon had us driving to Bwindi Impenetrable NP where we will view the gorillas tomorrow.
Day 3, Gorilla Trekking! Started, by meeting at NP headquarters for the Bwindi region, to learn about the gorillas and what Uganda is doing to help protect these amazing primates. A successful trek into the mountain forest, as we viewed a family of 7 gorillas both in trees and on the ground. With a successful viewing, it made the climb out of the forest, we are at approximately 9,000 feet up, a little easier. Ending our trek, we then heading for Lake Bunyonyi and our last night out. What was unexpected about our lodging was that we would be having to travel to our lodging by boat. We would be lodging on an island on the lake.
Day 4, we were to meet Stephen for our journey back to Kampala. First, however, we took a boat tour around a part of the lake viewing other islands and learning a little history regarding a couple of Islands. Heading to Kampala and being dropped off at our hotel to complete 4 wonder out days.
We felt lucky to have Stephen as our guide. He was so knowledgeable, having spent some years working both in Queen Elizabeth NP and at Bwindi NP. He was an important part in making to Safari successful. We would surely request Stephen again should we journey to Uganda for another safari someday.
We knew nothing about Prime Safari when we started searching for an Uganda Gorilla safari, but our feeling is this; We Chose Well!

Best experience of my life! Thank you Prime Uganda Safari! :)
5/5

Africa was incredible. I spent 3 weeks in 3 countries, yet I must say Uganda was my favorite. This country offers experiences that travelers cannot get anywhere else! And there is no better way to see and experience this wonderous country than through Prime Safari Uganda Tours! From the moment I contacted them for a quote to the end of my trip when I had the opportunity to meet everyone at the office, I felt as if I found my second family! And my tour guide Denis (my adopted nephew!) was phenomenal in EVERY WAY!!! I traveled alone but I felt safe and well cared for the entire time. Denis was meticulous in handling every detail, he anticipated all my needs before I could even think to ask. His knowledge of the geography, the animals, people and culture were limitless! I have never experienced a vacation like this and I have to say it is all due to the wonderful, professional and caring people at Prime Uganda Safari and I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend this company for ALL your safari travels in East Africa. You will not be disappointed!

The best experience!!! Gorillas - AMAZING!
5/5

We had a group of 4 do the 4 day safari in moderate accommodation, this covered QE Park, Chimp Trekking and Gorilla Trekking.
We had such an incredible time! Our driver Jack was excellent, so knowledgeable and really friendly.

The Gorilla and Chimp trekking experinces were insane - so incredible to be close to these animals. All guides were super friendly and their knowledge was incredible.

The accommodation was excellent, we picked the moderate/budget option and the places we stayed were beyond. Particularly the Park View Lodge and Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort - both exceptional, clean and very good staff.

Prime Uganda Safaris provided a great service, everything ran perfectly, was on time and exceeded our expectations and the staff were amazing. Thanks so much for a very memorable experience, sad to leave Uganda!! :)

Terrible experience with Self Drive Safari/Vehicle rental
1/5

We selected Prime Uganda Safari as we through it was one of the best car rental companies in Uganda. Unfortunately we were so wrong.
Firstly, our poorly maintained and serviced vehicle broke down on New Year's day, and the company blamed us for a series of damages which of course were not created by us.
Then, the next day, they sent another vehicle with a driver to continue our journey in Uganda because they could not trust us. So on 2nd of January 2019, the driver, during an overtake, crashed the car into oncoming vehicle from the other side.
Not only the company did not apologize or provided another option (to leave the accident spot or to be moved elsewhere), but the only communication we received is an email with the costs of the alleged damages. They never reimbursed us for the daily rentals for the days that we did not have the car, and they also charged us for filling up two fuel tanks, while the delivered two car fuel empty.
I am really sorry to say that you should not trust Prime Uganda Safari as the whole altitude was completely inappropriate and unprofessional, let alone that they put our lives at risk twice without taking any responsibility.

Dear Sokratis,

It’s unfortunate that you did not enjoy your self-drive trip experience in Uganda. This concerns us as a professional company as our primary aim is to offer lasting memories for our esteemed travelers’ world over.
However at times, the guest experience is affected by issues of own making even when we are committed to surpassing their expectations.

On Dec 28th 2018, the vehicle Station wagon Land cruiser was delivered by our Driver Mike and our office staff Sharon to you at Entebbe International Airport upon your arrival. You inspected the vehicle, agreed to it, paid the remaining balance and signed both vehicle delivery form acknowledging the reception of the vehicle along with the self-drive car rental contract.

You embarked on your self-drive journey in Uganda dropping off the Company staff at the Office junction at Bwebajja along Entebbe road 24km from the Airport and proceeded to drive without any complaint on Dec 28th, 29th & 30th across the Eastern and the far eastern parts of the country. On Dec 31st, you transferred from Matheniko / Moroto in the far north east of Uganda and took 12hrs drive to Masindi town in the West of the country without any stop to allow the vehicle cool or check lubricants including water levels.
At some sections, the vehicle movement report shows the vehicle speeding beyond the Uganda’s speed limit of 80km/hr. even reaching 120km/hr. This was great pressure to the vehicle as the first section of this journey was on a rough murram road in the Karamoja region. On this long drive, you only enjoyed the acceleration and never bothered to check the water levels causing great damages to the engine system.
Even before starting the drive on the morning of Jan 1st, basic things like checking water levels and oil wasn’t done. No wonder, at only 17.22km drive on that morning from Kabalega Resort to Murchison, the vehicle stopped shortly at Kidwela (07:39am – 08:05am).

We received a call around 9:43am from you while in Masindi and we were informed that the vehicle had gradually stopped moving while in Murchison Falls NP due to overheating. That upon the vehicle stop at this point, you poured Oil in the vehicle (not necessary in this case) and water after which you returned to Masindi town and handed over the vehicle to the people at the gas station to start working on it.
It is at this time when the gas station people had removed the oil and opened the vehicle engine system that we received this call letting us know of this matter. It seems you wanted to patch up the damages caused to the vehicle and proceed on the drive without letting us know and unfortunately, they were colossal and your hired people / “mechanics” could not handle.
We halted the proceedings on ground and arranged the travel of expert mechanics from Kampala to go and work on the vehicle as the engine system is very sensitive. But also not to delay your movements, we dispatched an alternative vehicle TX Land cruiser from our office with a professional and an experienced driver called Robert to transfer you to Fort Portal as we ascertain the cause of vehicle breakdown after which you would be informed and if you are responsible, meet the repair costs as per the vehicle hire contract and then, your self-drive vehicle finds you at the next destination.
The mechanics ascertained that while driving, you had hit a strong instrument (presumably a hard rock along the murram roads) damaging the radiator leading to water leakage and hence the rise of temperature which you even failed to notice thus going beyond normal leading to the stopping of the vehicle on the next day. As seen above, you remembered to check the water and add when the vehicle had already stopped. Regrettably, the radiator, gasket, cylinder head & water pump had been destroyed.
The vehicle was put on a carrier and transferred to an established garage in Kampala to get the spares and replace accordingly.

Regrettably, when you had reached near Kyenjojo en route to Fort Portal a speeding self-drive traveler driving a hired car from Alpha Rent A car failed to control his vehicle and rammed into you causing damages to the vehicle. Fortunately, no bodily injuries happened and the Police came to the scene to generate a report. Even when everything was clear that the self-drive traveler had failed to control the vehicle resulting into hitting of your vehicle from its side, it came to everyone’s shock including Police that you choose to shift the blame to your driver at a time when the driver of the other vehicle had obviously acknowledged the mistake and making apologies. Could it have been motivated by the desire to disqualify chauffeur driven over self-drive as we had not given you a self-drive vehicle for that transfer!
At this stage, as we were arranging an alternative vehicle to transfer you after the accident to Fort Portal as the driver had to remain behind to finalize with the police, you got a passing vehicle and proceeded. You wrote to us while in Fort Portal.
At this stage, you also brought to our attention in e-mail that you had another passenger by the names of Panos whom you had not informed us about right from the start of the booking process. We had actually hired the vehicle to you and you had not communicated that you would be traveling on this self-drive trip safari with other people which you later did at your own making and decision.

In response, we were sorry about the accident, informed you that we are still finalizing with the Police in Kyenjojo but we would be dispatching another vehicle to find you in Fort Portal and proceed with the rest of the journey. In the same e-mail, we also provided an update about the mechanical findings from the initially hired self-drive vehicle regarding the damages that you had caused including repair costs. You retaliated by noting that you were no longer interested in our services, an action that must have been driven by your unwillingness to meet the repair costs which you had caused as they were higher compared to the amount for number of days that were remaining and since then, you disappeared and completely ignored our requests to have this harmonized as it would never be our wish to end with a guest in such situation.

It is from this basis that this review is motivated by the desire to blackmail and creating bad impression other than a genuine ground. Prime Safaris remains committed to professionalism and serves its esteemed guests with trust and responsibility.

Dream come true
5/5

Before the trip had even started the correspondence with Cate (prime safaris) was very good. Attention to detail was excellent. This put our minds at ease. From the moment we arrived in Entebbe everything ran smoothly. We did a 16 day customised safari, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. It was quick but this is what we wanted. We stayed in luxury accommodation which I have to say was incredible.... prime Safaris did an amazing job booking the locations. The lodges and camps actually became one of the highlights. There were many things that made our lives so easy from gorilla permits x2, chimpanzees x1, national park permits etc. This was all taken care off. Thank you again Prime Safaris.
We ended up with 3 local guide/drivers. Trevor in Uganda and Rwanda was a legend. Nothing was ever to much for him and he went out of his way to help. Very professional. Willie was our guide/driver in Kenya. He was fantastic, Also went out of his way to help make sure we saw the big 5. Gerry in Tanzania was also good, nothing was ever a problem. In fact all three drivers were great and would highly recommend.
Lastly if you are thinking of going to this region I would 100% use a company.
I have no hesitation recommending Prime Safaris!

Excellent Agency, Excellent Trip, Excellent UGANDA
5/5

We were 2 couples (27-45 years old Europeans) visiting Uganda for the first time. We had 10 days at our disposition which we wanted to spend out there in real Uganda, to see nature, people, real Africa. Prime Safaris came best out of the app. 10 agencies I spoke to. Best in the meaning of price vs. quality (and references), we chose the midrange package (services).

The communication with the agency was excellent, Cate is a perfect person to establish the objectives and all special wishes. The itinerary proposed by her has fulfilled all of our expectations.
At the airport, we were welcomed by our guide Robert together with the trainee Herman. During the whole trip, these 2 guys took excellent care of us and we felt very safe. Zero incidents recorded were thanks to them and also thanks to Uganda, whose people pleasantly surprised us a lot.
And when there was a need to "adjust" something in the itinerary (accommodation, queues, resto, special requests, etc), Robert was there to help you out and to make your wishes come true (or close to it). We were an excellent team!
We've done and seen all kinds of activities (Murchinsons Falls, Queen Elisabeth NP, chimps, mountain gorillas, Lake Bunyonyi, etc.).
In the last evening, upon our return to Entebbe, we met Cate and her husband (and Prime's CEO) Samuel. They are very nice persons and we exchanged lots of ideas about our trip and Eastern Africa generally, as we seriously think about coming back to this beautiful part of the world. And, of course, we would use Prime Safaris as our Nr. 1 choice of an agency.

Everything fantastic, we returned to Europe full of positive thoughts, great experiences and 2000+ photos.
