Kruger Trip
5/5

Private Kruger Safaris took us on a delightful morning trip into the Kruger National Park. We saw a rhino up close and also witnessed a herd of elephants crossing the road around us on their way to the watering hole. Our guide, Bernhard was very knowledgable and answered all our questions. Well worth it!

Morning Kruger Park Game Drive
5/5

Bernard collected us in the early morning before sunrise and took us through to one of the gates at the Kruger. He is an extremely knowledgeable guide and was constantly busy explaining the intricacies of the Park. He has also been in the area for a number of years, so he was also able to comment on the changes that he had noticed, regarding the wildlife and the ecosystem in the Park.

There were 2 occasions when he stopped to ask other guides if they had seen anything. They said they'd seen nothing and a few meters down the road were we fortunate enough to first come to within 10m of a rhino, were Bernard allowed us plenty of time to marvel at this majestic creature, while giving us plenty of information about the beast.

The 2nd incident involved a herd of elephants moving towards the river. We sat and watched as a herd of elephants walked down towards the river, walking over trees and generally just being elephants. Yet again, Bernard was very informative and his patience was what eventually turned 2 elephants into a whole herd. Many other people drove past without noticing or saw 2 elephants, snapped a photo and left.

He knew to wait and that made for an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend Private Kruger Safaris, our morning game drive has left me with a need to go back and experience it all again. I had always wondered about the merits of paying for a guided drive, but afterwards I realised that it was well worth the money.

WOW! An awe inspiring all learning experience!
5/5

When I booked this tour I was a bit apprehensive especially having to get up so early-I am on holiday
after all! Had I have known how utterly "divine" it was to be I would have willingly stayed up all night.
The wealth of knowledge that was imparted was absolutely incredible. I felt like a sponge trying to absorb it all, and being able to apply the knowledge to the actual animals in front of you was an absolute joy, something I will never forget.
Even though we never saw any "cats", we did see their spoor, it certainly did not detract from the day.
I just love impressing all around me with my newfound knowledge, plenty they did not know but now thanks to Bernhard, and myself, they are now also enlightened.
This safari certainly exceeded all my expectations and was worth every cent, cannot wait to go back with friends and family in tow! Am now also looking for a larger lens for my camera, I can go on and on about the day I enjoyed it so much.
WOW and WOW again!

The Safari tour with Bernhard was an out of the world experience. If I go back to South Africa it would be because of the people like Bernhard from this tour group and his associates.

I was there with my wife and 2 sons they had only positive comments for Private Kruger Safaris

One word Outstanding.

Very good experience, every thing went according to I expected

The tour was very good, satisfactory. Bernhard, the guide, is very kind and, most important, he knows how to do his job. He is also a photographer, so he try to find the best angles to see the animals. I recommend this tour.

Absolutely amazing!!
5/5

We booked our very first safari, a 4-day/3-night private safari tour, with Private Kruger Safaris and we could not have asked for a more amazing experience! It was both educational and adventurous, and is something that we will remember for a lifetime.

Communication – this company is extremely professional and all our email queries were answered promptly and thoroughly. While on tour, Bernhard (our head guide) always checked in with us to find out what we wanted out of our experience.

Comfort – we booked a private safari (it really wasn’t as expensive as you might think and it is so worth it—ask them about it!) and so it was just the two of us and our two guides. Bernhard told us that he only take a maximum of 6 guests so that everyone gets a window seat with an extra seat in the middle—most companies we saw squeezed 9 people into the same sized vehicle. They also arranged our accommodation in the park and personally inspected it after check-in to make sure everything was in order.

Flexibility – Bernhard created the tour around the dates we were available and also with consideration to where we needed to start (Skukuza) and end (Letaba) our tour. Each evening he also gave us the option of when we wanted to start our morning drives the next day—just in case we wanted to sleep in.

Friendliness—I don’t think you can beat Bernhard and Hennie for this! We capped off our safari with a traditional South African braai (BBQ) at their campsite. It was really a pleasure to have them as our guides. They are not in this business to make a buck--they have a lifelong love for the Kruger and their enthusiasm for even the smallest creature or plant is infectious.

Experience—We did see the Big Five, and while no tour can guarantee that you are going to see all the animals that you want to see, it makes all the difference in the world if you have a guide that knows what to look for. It absolutely astonished us that while driving at 40 km/h Bernhard spotted a pair of lions and cub lying down in the shade of some low trees over 250 m away! And we were always given lots of time to just watch the animals. The first day we spent 90 minutes watching a group of lions and I don’t think any other tour group stay around for more than 10 minutes. There also wasn’t a single animal or bird that we pointed out that he couldn’t identify immediately.

We highly recommend this company. If we are ever lucky enough to go back, we will absolutely book another safari with them.

Big 5 come Alive
5/5

Well what can we say. We experienced the amazing Big 5 and this was done in style and comfort through a well run safari operator who has a passion for the wild and Kruger Park.

Bernhard showed us everything from the various plants, birds of prey and of course the big 5. The drive felt as if it was tailor made for our party of 4.

Bernhard did not rush the trip and let us spend as much time as we needed at each viewing opportunity. He himself had opportunity to get some awesome pic's of the animals which add to his collection.

Bernhard thank you for an awesome drive and continue to live the passion of the wild as you do and provide the great experiences for all of us visiting the Kruger Park. C u in May 2015.

A must with Bernhard Bekker
5/5

I am a photographer first and foremost, I met Bernhard Bekker some 5 Years ago, every time I Visit the Kruger, I drop Bernhard an email. Bernhard goes out of his way for me to get the shot and ensures the sun is in the right place. From great Sunrise shots to game and Sunsets. Pick the Animal you would like to photograph and Bernard will find it traveling a hundred Kilomaters if Neccessary, his bird knowledge is exceptional and is able to play you the exact song or chirps on his phone, sometimes the birds respond in Song. This is a truly amazing experience! And if after reviewing shots utilizing the incorrect white Balance or the shot is not sharp Bernard will turn around and go back. Sometimes he will patiently wait for 20 vehicles to move so you can get the shot or see that leopard. Nothing is a burden for Berhard, who is a well mannered gent, respect is earned and Bernard has my utmost respect with his years of Knowledge and stories he is able to relate. Most important is he is able to predict Animal behavior and keep you safe during your safari. That to me is the most important aspect to any Safari! I will certainly utilize Bernhard in the future and highly recommend him. Should you require memories Bernhard will take photos for you too, Do tip him for the Photos as Bernhard is required to purchase his own equipment each year and do take a Fast SD card for him to record your Safari.

Private Kruger Safari - a 3 days tour missing nothing at all
5/5

Me and my wife booked a 3 days tour in the Kruger park. Bernard picked us up closed to Johannesbourg, and returned us there on the third day. Bernards detailed knowlegde about the park helped us to experience all wildlife we had hoped for, and even mote. In addition, Bernard was excellent with his camera - and shared some beatiful picktures with us via Dropbox. Private Kruger Safaris fixed prise included everything needed for the tour - except the food. Even the Dropbox service was for free.
If I ever again go to the Kruger park I will for sure use Private Kruger Safaris. The best there is.
