Excellent first safari in Mikumi
We made our first safari with Usambara Expedition in Mikumi Park
It was a very nice and good time with Mike!
We had everything booked by internet, we were always in touch with the agency, very responsive and very serious: no worries!
They picked us up at the hotel in Dar es Salaam, then headed for Mikumi
Mike was an excellent driver and a very good guide! And we spent 3 lovely days with him
We were staying at the Camp Bastian, a very nice establishment 20 minutes from the park
Everything went very well, we loved this beautiful experience!
I highly recommend!

If in the future, I return to make a safari in Tanzania, I will go back without hesitation by this agency !!

Beautiful trip!
We had the best safari trip with our guide Mike. He was the best guide you can imagine. We did see a lot of animals and it was a beautiful experience! We went to Mikumi National Park. The banda's were great, the food was good and we had a beautiful view from our banda's. Everything was good arranged and everybody from Usambara Expeditions is so kind and sweet to us and they wanted to make sure we had a lovely time at the park, and we absolutely did!! We really recommend Usambara to everyone!

- we definitely recommend the guide Said. He made our Safari as excellent as it was.
- better book directly with Usambara instead of Moji which organize the tours with Usambara. We booked it via Moji and didn't get the support which we would have gotten by booking directly with Usambara

Fantastic!
We (young swiss-married couple) enjoyed our 5 days trekkting organized by usambaraexp. very much!
Alex was very helpful with the booking. Joseph & Richard have been great guides trough spectacular landscape, mountains, forests, villages.. they knew a LOT about the plants, people and surrounding!
The accomodations and Food was very nice.. the price for the whole trip was more than worth to pay for all the nice food we ate and people we met.. we can really much recommend to go for hiking into the usambara region instead of the touristy place arusha!!! Usambara mountains was one of the most beautiful experience and adventure in my life!

Very friendly and very competent guide ( Afra ), from which we learned a lot about animals , nature, but also land and people.
Very responsible and good driver .
The accommodation in lodges inside the park was perfect, because you have experienced the animals directly to the lodges.
Smear in the River Lodge Fox Lodges (English line ) in Ruaha Park : Great lodge , but unacceptable food.
All in all very good - but not cheap !
( Sleeps 6 day safari for 2, 1950.- € / person).
But we were only 2 people . With four persons it will be cheaper.

Good experience, good driver.
Accomodation (we was in Tanapa cottage) was good and clean, also food is good.
The first day we stop eating in a Resturant in Morogoro which is not clean and i eat just rice.
We are very lucky and we see all kind of animal in Mikumi.
The driver was really kind and helpful.

Excellent 14-day safari service in the south of Tanzania!
In Dar Es Salaam we got in touch with Alex Shembago of Usambara Expeditions and asked for a two week wilderness safari in the south of Tansania with budget accomodation. The route was Dar-Selous-Mikumi-Ruaha-Iringa-Udzungwa-Ifakara-Dar including our preferences. Alex wanted to make sure that everything fits our expectations and offered us to get in touch with the driver and the car the day before departure. Driver guide Paul was a charming guy with very good driving skills either on road (calm, no risks, attention) or during game drives (animal spotting, elefant behaviour vs. car, offroad driving, car maintenance). As the journey started chef Said joined us and prepared delicious meals every day. He also adressed our wishes for traditional Tansanian foods. Paul and Said were always on time and very helpful. All accomodations were double rooms in bungalows or hotels with bathroom and were nice.

Alex Shembago is a big cheater
At the beginning of July this year i had arranged with Alex a 24 day all inclusive (safaris, visit some tribes, transport , hotels, food etc.) private roundtrip from Dar es Salaam as well final Moshi. About 40% of the agreed amount i payed Alex, the rest i payed the driver/guide during the trip. The old car Alex give us broke down 3 times. The trip from Bukoba to Bokoba and Bokoba to Mwanza was canceled by Alex, because according to him the road was dangerous and the boat did not sail. On day 19 Alex phoned me and say that the money i give to driver is up and ask me to borrow 300 US for the last 5 days of the trip. I did not do this and told him that he still have 40 % of the travel sum in his pocket and that he easy can sent money to the driver. He didnt do that . The last 5 days i had made a 2 trips with an other person and my driver and have to pay for the hotel and food by myself. I said Alex that I want to have at least the hotel and food costs reimbursed for the last 5 days reimbursed from him. He promised to tranfer these charges to me within a few days. I reminds Alex later 2 times of this. Now after 7 weeks i still received nothing. I Moshi i told my expierence to an other man. This man said that he knew Alex and that its not believed that Alex will refund me any money.

Unforgettable 3 days Selous Safari
We booked the 3 nights Selous Safari with boat, game drive and walking safari. Pick up and drop off from/to hotel quite outside Dar es Salaam, was not a problem. Safari itself was an amazing experience and driver Super Mike was excellent. The camp we stayed was well-located next to the park. The lodges were simple but enough, having 3 hours electricity every night to charge, etc. Special thanks to the amazing cook Bruno, who took my food intollerances extremelly seriously. It was also very nice to have a chat with him and his food was absolutelly delicious.
We weren't able to see the big five, but saw lots of animals including elephants, lions, hipos, impalas, giraffs, zebars, monkeys, buffalos and many more. Over all not cheap but good value for money.
