Tent safari in Botsuana- an very intensive experience of nature
4/5

Excellent guide and team (Spokes, Moses, Oti, Patrick). It can't be better.
We passed nine wonderful, exciting and interesting days with them.
Due to the flood in Moremi we need to avoid the campsite there and been sent to "Duncan's Camp", two hours away. These camp was unacceptable from location perspective, the more it was in a pitiable condition. You shouldn't offer this camp anymore, in everyone's interest.
That's the reason why the overall rating is only "good".

Safari surprise at its best!
5/5

The booking went easy via travel agency. Shortly before our departure to Botswana we were informed about the heavy rainfalls during the last weeks and that the itinerary probably had to be changed, due to flodded roads. No problem for us. After arrival, tourguide Eddy came up with plan B, which turned out to be a great alternative. (He already had plans C to Z in mind, since nobody knew about the exact road conditions.) We visited a lot of beautiful places, whatched many many animals, stayed at great campgrounds. And we had a fantastic tourguide and camp crew, who never let us know about the stress they were having with all the obstacles in the stern wash of a cyclone.
The camp gear consisted of large tents (even large people can stand up straight) with en suite bathroom in the back (hole in the ground with a toilet seat, bucket shower), comfortable cots, night stand, a small cabinet. We had the fabulous diner (really, the cuisine à la bush was always delicious and plenty) in the dining tent after sitting around the fire in the evening, having a first drink. Did I mention lunch? Depending on the day's schedule, we had lunch in the camp or a picnic in the bush (always yummy).
Eddy, you are an excellent tour guide, you did just about everything to let this safari of a lifetime come true. You brought us to all the interesting places, let the animals out of the cages just in time, and never got stuck in the worst of mud.
Mano, Steven and Matteo: The best camp crew imaginable, you made the camp a reall home for us.
Thank you all!

great camping experience
5/5

Tour with Kalahari Skies team, November 2016, Moremi, Khwai, Savuti
Eddy, thank you very much for the great camping experience you made possible for us. Our thanks also goes out to Mano, whos‘ delicious food we had the pleasure to enjoy as well as to Steve, the „good spirit“ of the camp.
The Tents were very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were great.
Eddy, you showed and told us so many knowledge and interesting facts about the flora and fauna of Botswana. Inspired by you wildlife journal, for the first time I started to keep a checklist of all animal sightings. What a great idea! You are an excellent guide!
It was in Moremi that we saw the first cheetah. A special sight, for us and our cameras, was the by far most beautiful lion in Africa – what a beauty! He could easily be THE top model amongst all animals.
As before, Khwai took our breath away with its beautiful landscapes. A great located camp with Zebras, Wildebeests, Antelopes and Elephants all around us. I will never forget the moment during setting up the camp when an Elephant came by to watch with be just sitting barely 3 meters away – and we got the photo for agreat memory too.
In Savuti we had the luck to see the Savuti pride feasting on their prey, they just made a fresh kill, a Kudu. Thank you for showing us the beautiful group of old baobab trees that is not mentioned in any travel guide!
We were lucky to have been able to take so many great pictures.
Summary: very professional, excellent knowledge, delicious meals, very friendly, excellent tents and lots of fun!
Our place of longing is Botswana.
We are looking forward to travel the Kalahari with Kalahari Skies in 2019.
Pia and Harald

Perfect mobile safari in Botswana
5/5

Kalahari Skies made our holiday in Botswana better than we could have dreamed of. The recommendations and planning from Eddie were spot on. A great choice of campsites and safari route. Marks must be the best guide in Botswana: there seems to be no bird, animal or plant he does not know about. Let alone knowing exactly what his guests want! The camping was five star with hot showers on demand and incredible 3 course meals cooked on the fire. Thanks to the very friendly camp team of Eze, Mathew and Tumelo! We'll definitely be back once we have saved up enough Pula!

Lifelong memories with this exceptional operator with a passion for sharing what Botswana offers
5/5

My daughter and I went on the 10 day Botswana Classique mobile tenting safari starting in Maun then progressing through Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and Chobe River. Each place has its own special character which gave us a great experience. The entire experience, from initially contact over the Internet to explore options, through booking, organising extra tours at the end and, of course, the safari itself, was brilliant. Eddy and his team office support could not have been more helpful. Our tour guide and expect it tracker, Newman, taught us so much about the animals, land and culture. His love of the land and care of anima!s and their environment was great to experience. The camp and conditions were wonderfully managed by Stephen and his support crew, Mattias and Moses. The tents were always welcoming and the hot showers ready and waiting. Another highlight was the campfire meals. 3 courses and different Marvel's each night catering for my vegetarian daughter just as well as for me (the beef fillet was the best I have had!). I cannot rate this company high enough!

Out of Africa with dreamlike meals
5/5

We (my wife and me) stayed 5 nights with three kalahari skies guys. Spokes realized very soon our ideas of a relaxed safari and was a perfect guide. T.C. and Dumelo were the guys in the background, responible for a lot of fun and the best meals we ever had in the bush.
Thank you, we had a great time.

A great journey to different landscapes of Botswana
5/5

We ( 2 couples, we were 15 times on safari's) were 12 days with Eddy and it was a great time. He has been in Botswana for 21 years and his knowledge is exceptionel, where everybody goes right he goes left, for he "knows" what te animals are doing. For example: we saw a leopard ( one of the three this journey) other cars go into the bush in Savuti, we turn around and go to an open spot and after a while she walks towards us and we where right in front. His wife Monu is a great cook and Easy and Tumello, who helped, are fine guys. Tumello will be a great cook too.
Some things we did. A nice walk with the Meerkat. You walk for an hour or so with them and you can see perfect how they dig for food and give the first things to the little ones.
Had also a walk with the San people. They told us how they used the bush for food and medicines. Very interesting.
In Deception Valley we saw big herds of oryx and springbok. And a lot of bat-eared foxes. Great. Our last night we heard the lions rore and footprints around the camp. After 5 minutes on the road there were 5 lions with full bellies, when they walked further a lionkill of an oryx was there with an other 5 lions.
In Nxai Pan stood we walked between the famous Baines Baobabs. Not so many animals.
Then a long day to Khwai River. In those 3 days we took almost 1000 pictures. It was a super spot. The first evening 2 leopards. The next day wild dogs, mating lions and all kinds of birds.
The last place was Savuti. Here was the high light the herd of 150 elefants coming to drink and play in the pools.
To do a mobile safari has the adventige that you camp where the animals are, you are part of nature. The tents are very comfortable.
For us was the fact that Eddy speaks Dutch a great extra.
Groet,
Julia, Jannie, Jan en Willem

Best Safari operator we ever had
5/5

After travelling on Safaries - especially in Botswana, Namibia and Souh Africa - we travelled with Kalaharie Skies in April from Maun to Victoria Falls.
The crew is astonishing how they work in this enviroment. One had nothing to do but sit relax and enjoy the sorrounding. The meals cooked have been amazing when you realise the conditions in the bush they have to work with. The tents and the camp are wonderful, nearly as you have your own home along. As you are in the wilderness, you can not expect that you will see all the animals, but Eddy tried and found everything for us, from large elephant herds to the leopard babie.
And the arrangement had been 100% (scinic Okavango flight, Chobe river cruise, transport to Vic falls).
We will come back

Extraordinary experience, thanks to Kalahari Skies
5/5

Our first safari ever was a complete success. Everything was perfectly organized and managed: the exciting game drives, the excellent cooking, the careless staying in the tented camps.
Eddy showed us a wonderful piece of Botswana nature of which he seems to know every animal and every tree. His knowledge about fauna and flora is incredible. Together with Mano, Leonard and Tumelo he made this trip an extraordinary experience that we will never forget.
