First class!
5/5

Our consultant, Ilze, was top notch! From the first inquiry email I made to the flight home, we were taken care of royally! She responded to every question we had as virgin travelers! I was so dumb about any travel, much less international travel! Every thing was perfect! What A safari we had! So thrilling and I saw every animal! The lodge we stayed at was awesome, people were corteous and informative! All of the transfer links were on time and the transport services were on time and so sweet! I would love to go back and see more of beautiful Africa and I know who I will contact to arrange it! Thank so much for all you do!

The Adventure Of Our Lifetimes
5/5

My husband and I were just back from a lovely trip to Europe in celebration of a significant birthday and an anniversary milestone and had planned to venture to Africa in 2016. That was, however, until he happened upon African Safari Consultants LLC excellent website while browsing online and got in touch with Camille Rowe to acquire some advance information to peruse..

We have been travelling the world for more than 40 years and have never used a travel agent before so were loath to give up the reigns of control until this trip. Camille was very quick to pick up on what we were looking for and set up a sample itinerary of what might give us the maximum exposure to many different experiences on a short 3 week holiday. We were hooked immediately !! She suggested locations, was very patient with our questions, and answered our emails very promptly while adding excellent advice regarding some of the smaller points...visas etc. which were required at certain destinations.

The properties she selected for our vacation in South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana were absolutely fantastic and exceeded all our expectations starting with One & Only in Cape Town.. It was truly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and now wish that we had decided to return for a few more days at the end of our safaris before the long trek back to North America. Located at the edge of the Victoria & Alfred Wharf it was in an ideal location to walk off our travellers fatigue while enjoying a luxurious and wonderful hotel for three days.

We had the pleasure of staying at two properties run by &Beyond and again can't say enough good things about both of them !! Kirkman's Kamp Sabi Sands bordering on Kruger National Park and Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge in Botswana were entirely different from one another because of their placement and terrain but the one thing that they shared was the absolutely incredible customer service and amenities ! Their staff, trackers, rangers/guides were extremely knowledgeable and the staff were incredible hosts.

The Royal Livingstone at Victoria Falls in Zambia was a beautiful hotel and has a sunset view deck that was spectacular ! Set on the banks of the Zambezi River its location is perfect and sharing our space with giraffes, zebras, and warthogs was something we have never experienced before..

We also had the pleasure of staying at Chobe Game Lodge in Botswana and it was an incredible property as well. Luxurious and comfortable with a tremendous staff who looked after our every need and then some! The rangers at CGL are all females which we thought was a very positive employment practice ! It is also a 'green' hotel and their conservation measures are to be applauded. The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating and we loved every minute of our stay and would also highly recommend it !

Our last safari was in the Okavango Delta in Botswana and again stayed at another &Beyond property ...Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge. This small property houses only 18 guests in individual lodges with viewing decks and personal plunge pools.. Luxury at its finest in the middle of the Delta ! Again the appointments were spectacular and the staff and food were 5 star !!!

We covered a lot of territory in a short period of time and everything that had Camille's fingerprint on it went off without a hitch.. We're talking not just about the accommodations but also chartered aircraft and transportation between locations... We were on planes, helicopters, automobiles, and boats... The only mode of transportation we missed out on this trip was a train...but... she did offer one....

Our most sincere appreciation goes to Camille for making this Bucket List trip the adventure of our lifetimes !

South Africa Trip with African Safari Consultants
5/5

My wife and I visited SA for the first time this July -- in their winter. Our plan was to visit Cape Town, Kruger Park and Victoria Falls. Although we are not unsophisticated travellers, we had never been to sub-Saharan African before and we found the prospect somewhat daunting. We considered using a major tour operator such as Abercombie and Kent -- but their programs were expensive and they promised a tour of not more than 16 people -- which seemed to mean we'd be on a bus much of the time. That didn't appeal to us. I found African Safari Consultants in Trip Advisor reviews and I dealt with Camille Rowe there. Camille was wonderful. She reviewed our original plans, had us determine a budget and suggested hotels and locations for us to visit. The price ended up being significantly cheaper than AK and the locations we visited were all wonderful (and I think the same in some cases as AK used). We stayed at the One and Only at the V&A waterfront in Cape Town. The hotel is lovely (more attractive with nicer rooms than some Four Seasons we've stayed at). Our tours were all by private car and the guides in both Cape Town and Johannesburg were excellent. Camille made a point of finding us a flight that would get us to Joburg early enough in the day to visit the Apartheid Museum -- that was well worth the effort, and something I would have never thought to do. Camille sent us to Kirkman's Kamp at the Sabi Sands Game Reserve at Kruger, and I can't give that place too high a recommendation. Our ranger and tracker were both excellent and informative and the amenities were perfect. Finally the emails and tour summaries Camille sent were extremely clear and helpful to have when we were travelling. I heartily recommend African Safari Consultants. I would certainly use them again in our next trip to SA.

Perfect South African Safari trip!
5/5

My friend and I had an awesome planning and trip experience with Ilze Fox from African Safari Consultants. We worked with her over the course of several months to plan and finalize our trip. She was patient, reliable, prompt to reply, and full of information! She matched us up with the perfect safari experience based on our wish list (price range, # of days, type of lodging, food/drink preferences, etc.). She coordinated our flights and transportation to and from the lodge and checked in with us upon arrival and prior to departure. Ilze was professional, excited, passionate about what she was doing, and so personable! We spent a week in Cape Town before our safari and although we had planned that part of our trip independently, she provided a wealth of information and recommendations prior to the trip and throughout the trip.
The safari lodge itself was phenomenal. Perfect size (up to 30 visitors at a time), staff was awesome and so friendly, our tracker and driver were great at what they did and knew so much! We saw all five of the Big 5 and SO MANY more animals than we were expecting. Every drive was new and exciting. The food was mostly great, with a few misses - that's about the only negative I can think of. I would highly recommend Ilze and African Safari Consultants. I actually referred my cousin and her family, including two young kids, to Ilze shortly after our trip and Ilze has helped them plan their own safari trip for later this year. They've been just as thrilled with their experience!

Highly Recommend ASC
5/5

Our trip with African Safari Consultants was fantastic!! It was beyond our expectations. All the arrangements they made were excellent and went as planned without a hitch. Capetown was amazing, as a city. Absolutely beautiful. Next time it would be nice to spend a few more days before going on safari.

I was concerned before the trip that maybe we had picked the wrong season to go on Safari, however, we had the camps pretty much to ourselves and got preferential treatment. I can't image how the game viewing could have been any better.

African Safaris did an excellent job (we worked with Liesl) and I am already talking to them about the Great Migration, Serengeti and possible other areas of Africa.

Cape Town, Victoria Falls and a Zimbabwe safari
5/5

We had an incredible time and have been encouraging friends to think about visiting and contacting African Safaris if they decide to go. We have shared our enthusiasm, while trying not to bore people too much with 3000 plus pics, which obviously we’ve only shown a sampling of!

The guidance and planned itinerary was perfect! We couldn’t have been happier with Cape Town, our lodgings (really thrilled we got the tented camp), the Safari experience, the people, the Falls, food, restaurant choices, wines, guides, etc., etc.!

Both Safari lodgings were great picks, as were The More Quarters and The Livingstone Hotel, and each of them was special in its unique way. Everyone was so kind, friendly and helpful.

The entire trip was overall relaxing and a great blend of activities that were scenic and/or beautiful, interesting, educational or all of the above. It truly was wonderful and is something we would love to do again, if not with the entire family, perhaps just my daughter who lives in San Francisco.

Our only little glitch was not being well enough informed for our “journey” to Zimbabwe. The concierge at the hotel had given us information but we listened to a guest, who resides in Johannesburg and who seemed very well informed, but who misguided us with incorrect information. The important thing is that we did finally get there and although exhausted, it was worth it!!!!

All of our detailed planning together resulted in our amazing experience!

Regards,

Shelly
