Scam Tour Operator (works close with Arusha Police Department)
1/5

My wife and I were booked a 5 day Safari Tour with Felix Kisamo (owner of Unison Safari) from January 1 2017 to January 6 2017.

To everyone reading this reviews "Do not book Unison Safaris" for any reason, is a dangerous tour company runned by a man called Felix Kisamo who works close with the local police department of Arusha to get away with his scams.
He will offer very good prices and promise you the time of your life but once you book with him he starts a "game" of lies asking always for more money.
We were scared for our lives as he picked us up from the airport (he didn't had money even to pay for the gasoline of the car he was driving us with) he told us he had lost all of our money because he kept it at his office which he said was robbed, we demanded him to go straight to the police and the detained him and explained that he has been doing this type of scams for quite some time (the police told us he was not robbed) and that he is full of personal debts and is spending the turists money who book with him to pay them but by doing so he doesn't fulfill what he agrees with tourist as a tour operator (accomodation, guided, park fees, etc.). We spend a whole day at the police station as they tried to make him pay us all the money we had previously paid him (around $3,500 USD) and were only able to get $1,000 USD out of him (after he went with family members collecting money to pay us back), so we had to book with another tour operator having lost $2,500 USD.

We have nothing to gain by writing this other than helping future tourists from being scammed by Mr. Felix, we were also told that many positive reviews you see of him are part of the "scam" as he arranges with people to write them for him to lure more tourist to his scams.

The worst safari company.
1/5

Do not travel with unison. The owner was blackmailing us in the middle of the trip. He was asking for more money althought we payed everything in advance. At the end he abandoned us in the middle of serengeti park. The driver of the car was rude. We were scared about our lifes. The newspaper Guardian had our story in the front page on 27 august 2016. The owner ended up in jail for a few days. The owner offers good prices and then he asks for more money. It better to travel with ANY other company.

Excellent safari!
4/5

Felix is an expert extrordinaire when it comes to safari - we went to Ngorongoro and he made sure we found all the animals we wanted to see and was able to answer all our complicated questions, safari is really his expertise (he can even tell the difference between various bird species) so i would fully recommend him as a safari guide. He organized a 3-day trip for us - was very quick in responding and organizing, was very friendly and welcoming, and chose great accommodation for us. He was able to find a hot spring area we had heard of and took us there too which was lovely but this recommendation did not come from him, it was our idea.

The safari was amazing...one of the good surprise was Mr. Felix took us for a tea at this amazing lodge with an awesome view of the Ngongoro crater - he even paid for the tea!
Nice treat from his wife too when she gave us personally sewn clothes for me, hubby and 2 kids!

What a wonderful experience with Felix and Unison Safaris. Lovely choice of hotels too!
4/5

Felix was a great driver/guide and friend! Very helpful and did a great job selecting the hotels. We were able to see almost all the animals (exception was the leopard) but the others made up for it. Loved the game drives. Fully recommend using Felix to anyone. However, did not like the outpost lodge very much. But the other hotels like the Kisura tented camp and Eileens Tree in Karatu were lovely. Heard the Lions just outside the tent one night - an experience we will never forget!!!!

9 days safari: serengeti, big migration, lake natron, ngorongoro
4/5

I spent 10 days with 2 friends travelling around the most famous national parks of tanzania: 4 days in serengeti (seronera and lobo campsite, i really raccomand you to spend some days in lobo, wonderful location!) where we saw 4 of the big five and the big migration, amazing; then we moved with his land rover to natron lake, the area of masai tribes, where we could see flamingo and this kind of "desert" aerea, we slept in a very very nice campsite near a masai village. The last days Felix drove us to ngorongoro, sleeping in karatu in a cheap but not really confortable guesthouse. Gaspar, the cooker, came with us for 7 days, he was supernice, a piy that we couldn't have all together (usually all the cookers eat separated from the guests and the guides). The food was good, but repetitive. Felix is kind and a very safe driver, he tried to explain us something about animals of the savana and we could see all the big five, we missed nothing! Unfortunately we got a flat tyre for three times in a day! maybe we were just unlucky.
In any case Felix is really expert and trustworthy. We had a very cheap price for our 10 days safari, of course it was a budget safari, with camping accomodation, but we liked it, it's more in touch with nature!
Thanks Felix and say hallo to your family and to Gaspar for us.

serengeti-great migration-lake natron-ngorongoro 9 days camping/budget safari
4/5

We spent 9 days with our guide/driver Felix around northern Tanzania, for a total amount of 1152 euros.
The first night he picked us up in Kilimanjaro airport and took us at his home place. the next 4 days we have been in Serengeti NP, 2 in Seronera public campsite and 2 in Lobo Public campsite (which I liked the most, being much less crowded and truly wilder than Seronera!), accompanied by Felix and Gaspar, the cook (who was so kind to cook separate vegetarian meal for me every day). from Lobo we moved to Kenya border to see the Great Migration of the Gnu..which we were so lucky to spot: it was amazing. Afterwards we traveled by car to Lake Natron, where we spent 2 nights in a peaceful and beautiful campsite, enjoying the waterfalls, the Masai villages and a visit to the lake, where the flamingo breeding season was going on, guided by a friendly local guide. The last two days we moved to Ngorongoro Crater NP, sleeping in a small guesthouse in Karatu, together with 4 other friends which joined the safari just for the NgoroNgoro trip. While this accommodation in Karatu was small and uncomfortable, the trip to Ngorongoro was really worthwhile, most of all for the sightseeings. During the whole safari we had the chance to spot almost all the most wanted animals of the savanna: lots of lions, a leopard, a few jackals, ienas, thomson gazelle, antelopes, Topi, zebras, giraffes, a couple of Rhino from faraway, other herbivores and lots of different birds.
despite we broke and changed the tire for three times during the first single day, moving from Arusha to Serengeti, Felix proved to be an experienced and good driver in the following days, driving us safely along the dirt roads of the parks. We finally ended our tour in Moshi, together with the 4 friends who joined us the day before.
Unison safari proved to me to be a good and safe budget option to visit Tanzania.

Good Operator
4/5

Although I ultimately selected another tour for specific reason of our party, Felix provided me with a lot of good information as well as a fair price. Whenever I queried his pricing for anything he showed flexibility in adjusting to a more competitive quote. I felt very comfortable working 2ith him and would highly recommend Unison for anyone that considers their services.
