really good and knowledgable

There was one lodge in Ngorogoro which was pretty mediocre but the rest of it was excellent and very accommodating especially when we wanted to stay an extra day in the crater

With Ilmaasai you make your safaritrip a very personal experience
4/5

I spent 4 months volunteering in Arusha (dec13/march14) and did several trips with the little company of the two brothers Loth and Philip. It was my aim to find a good and trustworthy company to organize trips for a lot of volunteers. At first they all went to the big companies. I didn't want that: I wanted the spent money to be supporting local people and local economy. With the Ilmaasai's I was on the right spot. A personal touch, a friendly conversation, always karibu sana when you drop by at the cosy office in the park. Just good folks, that you can rely on.
If you go for the brandnew jeep or the flashy add-on's, go to a big company; if you want the real thing, with an excellent guide and a superb cook (Godson & Saimon were our hero's!), go with Ilmaasai and go to the campsites and not the expensive ridgelodges.
And say hi to Philip and Loth from me!

If you like sleeping in tents, it's perfectly fine.
4/5

If the company is the same as it was back in 2012, it was a perfectly fine experience. I was not disappointed in the least with the safari. We had good food, we slept in tents, and we were able to see animals out on the Serengeti. It was also a great price. We felt the company was honest in their dealings with us. Looking at companies that charge a lot more, the only thing they can truly offer is housing better than tents, because you will get the same experience driving around looking for wild life. So, I was satisfied.

Tarangire - Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara
We saw "The big 5". Driver George was very helpful, able to answer each of our questions. Dinner was delicious, the lunch boxes were a bit poor. We spent two nights in a lodge in Fanaka Campsite & Lodge. Staff was very pleasant and also the accomodation was not bad. Everything was clean and tidy.

Tarangire and especially Ngorongoro was a great experiance, many animals and very varied nature but Lake Manyara was very different. There was almost nothing to see.

wonderful experience to the summit of Kilimanjaro and 4 day safari-tour
4/5

Our family (2 adults 50+ and 4 students 18-26) did a 6 day Kilimanjaro expedition and a 4 day safari tour with Ilmaasai. Both experiences were very positive. The safari guide knew a lot about the national parks and wildlife. The cook served fine and large meals. Reliable, medium sized local tour operator.

an amazing experience
4/5

A flycatcher brought us to him. First we were a little bit sceptical but he was nice a looked serious. And also the tourist information told us that he has a licence. So we booked the one day trip to Tarangire National Park. We paid the fee by the time he picked us up. Our driver/guide was a pleasant man. So we had a great day. The only bad thing was that the vegetarian lunch pack wasn't vegetarian. But on the pack was vegetarian written. So we think it was the fault of the cook and not of ilmaasai company.

Excellent Staff, Good Company
4/5

We went on a 6 day safari with Ilmaasai. Our driver Bryson and cook Osman were most accommodating and did everything they could to make our trip great. We saw plenty of animals and were happy with this company. It is locally owned as well, we were happy that our money went to support the local people and not a foreign company.

Masai joy
4/5

Thank's Simon and Roman for making my 3-day trip to Lake Natron to a
road of joy. One of the highlights was the meeting with all the friendly Masais.
Climbing Oldonyo Lengai with my masai guide Ringa starting in the middle of
night was the greatest. I recomend it to all with good shape.
