Amboseli and Tsavo
5/5

Communications good. We were initially cautious as we were travelling from Nairobi but the company is Mombasa based. Reassured by good communications; Moureen and the driver came to meet us the afternoon before the trip. Vehicle in good condition, 4WD minibus with game hatch, probably more comfortable than a Land Cruiser. Only three of us on the tour - plenty of space in the vehicle and plenty of personal attention. Voi and Ngulia Lodges, and Kibo Camp - all perfectly adequate and with plenty of good food, though not gourmet! All were secure and had good service.
Driver/guide Silas very safe and very knowledgeable; he guided and managed us well and responded to our interests. Plenty of game viewing including leopard coming to bait at Ngulia and elephants at waterholes at both Ngulia and Voi.
We were pleased to be back to these three National Parks after a long time (visiting others in the meantime) but in retrospect the long road journeys were quite a stretch (although watching the development of the new railway was an additional fascination).
Pricing of the tour was certainly competitive and undercut our normal travel agent by a significant margin.
Strongly recommended.

A perfect balance between comfort and wildlife
5/5

We signed up for the 3 night Tsavo/Amboseli group safari as we're not really experienced campers or wildlife lovers. We immidiately were contacted by Moureen, who very service minded and interested in fulfilling our expectations in the best possible way. The communication was smooth and swift, and Moureen arranged the safari driver to to pick us and drop us off up at our hotel in a timely manor.
The final payment procedures were taken care of on the first day of the safari, which was conveniently made by credit card.
The one thing you need to be prepared for is the long drive before you get to the parks though! The roads are not the best, but we never felt unsafe. The safari truck was an 8 seat mini van with moveable roof - perfect for animal watching. Our driver, Daniel, a local Masai, had been in the business for 25 years and knew all the potholes in the roads, where the animals are, and the people for VIP treatment very well.
The parks were incredible, everything was exactly as you'd imagine from the Disney movie The Lion King. The safari game drives take place in the early mornings and late afternoons for better chances to see moving animals - and we saw a lot of them in both sunrises and sunsets.
The lodges where we stayed were nice and cosy, from huge semi tents in Amboseli park next to Kilimanjaro to wooden lodges nestled in the hill side in Rhino Valley, and all included all meals except for drinks (very affordable still).
Two things to bear in mind when going on the safari:
- bring mosquito repellant, a lot of it.
- bring lots of small amounts of cash for tipping and souvenir bargaining (no ATMs in the jungle, and at times the card machines don't work in the hotels).

This trip was way above our expectations - thanks a lot Moureen and Daniel for an unforgettable experience!

Better than expected
5/5

Tour was seemless (and the cheapest after a few quotes).
I had a 4 day stopover in Kenya after travelling Ethiopia.

I was given several different options for my time, but chose a fairly standard 4 day Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. I chose a mid-range shared tour, but given the time of year we ended up being the only ones on the safari.

The lodges were much better than expected, and we saw all the wildlife we hoped:
Mara Sopa lodge - on a hill at the entrance to the park where a lot of wildlife congregates. The rooms are large and lovely with separate cabin overlooking the gardens. Nice pool and view, bar and restaurant. Food was all buffet and of a good standard quality.
Lake Nakuru lodge - Hilltop position overlooking the lake and the park. This is a large lodge (with a great pool/bar area). Room were more standard hotel, with a balcony which was nice to sit on and watch zebra and buffalo graze in front. The food was a la carte and of good quality.

The driver (Cyrus) was also great, spoke great English and always wanted to be first in the park in the morning to get maximum wildlife viewing.

Id recommended the company.

Amazing experience
5/5

This was our first time visit to Masai Mara and Moureen organized a wonderful trip for us. In fact, Moureen visited us personally before the trip and clarified all our doubts. The lodge they had booked for us was unimaginably perfect. And the tour guide Mr.Nyaga Cyrus was very understanding and approachable at all times. He was open to our suggestions and ensured that we had a great time. We would definitely recommend Kay Adventure Tours to anyone visiting Masai Mara.

Incredible experience!
5/5

I had a great experience with Kay adventure tours, Moureen was more than willing to help and provide suggestions based on my interests in regards to the time frame I was working with while in Kenya. I specifically wanted to visit Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli National Parks in a relatively short period of time and covering a vast distance between each park. Moureen was very up front from the beginning regarding my requests and the total cost, so thank you very much to Moureen! My guide/driver was Mike and he was incredibly knowledgeable about each park and the wildlife and where they may be. I was able to see four out of the big five, which was awesome! It's very difficult to actually locate and view a leopard so that was the one that got away, but Mike tried very hard to make it happen! Aside from that, I was very pleased to see a very wide array of wildlife throughout each park (male lion and lioness, lions mating, lion cubs, elephant, cape buffalo, white & black rhino, cheetah, giraffe, hyena and much more!) and each park being unique in it's own right. My accommodations were pleasant and all of the staff at each lodge were very kind and welcoming. On another note, even when our van had some mechanical issues, Mike was awesome and hooked me up with another ride to Nakuru until he was able to meet me there, so that I didn't arrive too late in the evening. In addition to that, Mike also was kind enough to contact Kay adventure tours on my last day in Kenya to provide a last minute Nairobi City tour and dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. That was a fun time and the best part was that it wasn't planned out but exceeded my expectations. I would recommend spending at least a couple days in Nairobi and eating at Carnivore, it had a great atmosphere and a plethora of different meats to sample! Thank you so much to Kay adventure tours for providing me an excellent experience on my first trip to Kenya! I highly recommend them! Cheers

Great Safari Tour Company
5/5

Moureen from Kay Adventure Tours organized our rather complicated Safari perfectly and we had a great time in Kenya and Tanzania. We crossed the boarder between the Masai Mara and Serengeti at Isabania where we changed cars and driver. All went smooth thanks to Mureen and her team.

Perfect organisation, excellent service
5/5

We've booked the Gorilla trekking tour in Ruanda with Kay adventure tours and it was perfect!! From the beginning one year before till the end everything worked excellent. We had regular contact to Moureen by e-mail so that we were informed about everything very well. The cooperating company in Ruanda "Thousand Hills Expedition" was chosen perfectly. We were accompanied perfectly through the three days in Ruanda. Moureen booked the flights from Mombasa to Kigali, the stay in the Gorilla Mountain View Lodge and the permits for the gorilla-trekking. When we arrived in Kenya, Moureen met us in our coastal hotel, gave us the flight tickets and informed us about further details. We had permanent contact to her either by whatsapp oder email. We also booked a trip to Funzi Island and a dinner at the tamarind dhow. Here everything worked perfectly as well. At the end of our holiday Moureen came again to our hotel and asked if everything was ok. We only could affirm that. Next year we want to go to Tanzania and we are looking forward to book again the safari with Moureen and Kay adventure tours. We unrestricted can recommend this company!! Loving regards to Moureen and her team.

Well organized, lovely contact to Moureen, kikoi appreciated (special)
5/5

Arrangement and special requests dealt with in very friendly competent way; personalized offer for Samburu National Reserve. Final payment on-site. The kikoi as gift for safari travellers was very special and highly appreciated. Organization for pick up very well, very nice and competent driver, flexible, complied with special wishes (game drive for sunrise).
Would book with Kay Adventure Tours again.
