Good experience, but there is still room for improvement
4/5

What we liked the most is that everything that we booked was on time and James was able to adjust the booking according to our wishes.
We visited AA Lodge in Amboselli and Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge in Tsavo West. We would definitely recommend Amboselli for game drives with the view on mt. Kilimanjaro and Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge for unique experience, where wild animals (elephants, baboons, zebras, buffalos etc.) are walking under your room to get some fresh water.

We expected the driver to be more communicative/sociable, as it is was our first visit to Africa.
We wanted to know as much as possible about wildlife or Kenya in general, but the driver was rather quiet. If you are looking for a high-end safari with a proper guide, who can give you at least some information about animals, game drives, Kenya or Africa, I would recommend another company. Maybe it's just a matter of person and WildLife Sun Safaris has more experienced guides/drivers.

Wonderful Kenyan Wildlife Safaris
4/5

Thanks James for organizing a 10-day road safari for our group of 9. He’s always supportive - prompt to answer questions up to the point; give useful information about accessible hotels in the city; recommend must-see places and games reserves at reasonable prices. He met us both at the airport and before departure to make sure everything’s fine. He arranged two 7-seater Landcruisers with pop-up roofs, giving us ample space to take shots and videos of the unique sceneries and wildlife while passing the Great Rift Valley, Equator, Lake Nakuru, the snow-capped Mt Kenya, Mt Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa) and various savannahs, shrubs, the lake and swamp areas.

Our drivers cum guides - Francis and Usuf, in particular, are outstanding and reliable. They’re on time, cleaned the cars after each long drive and kept them fueled. They drove safely and kept to the itinerary schedules. With their sharp eyesight, good networking with other drivers and best efforts to search the vast grassland, we saw the Big Five within the first two days of our adventure. We’re fortunate enough to see leopards twice in two parks, with one resting on a branch early in the morning and very excited to find cheetahs, lions, Grevy’s zebras, herds of African elephants on land and in water, baboons, wildebeest, antelopes, gazelles, hyenas and many other distinctive animals in the following days. Supply of mineral water was more than sufficient. The guides were also knowledgeable: giving us brief yet interesting facts about the country, the locals, Masai culture and Kenya which is famous not just for the exclusive wildlife, tea or coffee, but also timber and pineapples while passing the plantation and farmland.

We’re impressed by the accommodation: a country club in Aberdare, lodges and tented camps within the reserves which made us feel being a part of the Nature. We could within reach with such small animals as dik-dik eating grasses early in the morning or at sunset and hear the chirps and whirrs of birds and insects. The food for most part was good, too.

We’re thrilled to see families of hippos in the water and the lake; crocodiles at riverbanks, many amazing birds: the lilac-breasted roller, eagles, crowned cranes, guinea fowls, hornbills, quails, flamingos, and many more at Aberdare and Amboseli sanctuaries. Never expect to see such a wide variety of distinctive wildlife and birds so closely and safely, credits must go to Usuf and Francis who are always nice and considerate.

A value-for-money private tour package. 5 stars if James could have arranged a bigger van to accommodate 9 travellers each with at least one or two luggage cases for airport transfer at the time of arrival

It is an amazing and unforgettable travel experience. James and his team are great to work with. Everything was executed to near perfection. We highly recommend James and Wildlife Sun Safaris.

Excellent safari experience
4/5

We took a 9 day tour to Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara and Mara North. EXCEPTIONAL (5*) part of the tour were the following: (i) The tour guide is the person who guides you for the whole tour and can make or break a tour. We were fortunate to have Mr. Thoya as our driver-cum-tour guide. Extremely punctual, well groomed, communicative, friendly, extremely safe driving; most importantly, he had an exceptional knowledge of the bush and always knew where to find the animals, depending on the time of the day. He is also well networked and helped a couple of guys when they had flat tires. I am sure, if he had faced any problems (which he didn't), he would have been able to organise support quickly. Thanks to him, we got to see the big5 on both days in Masai Mara. We also got to see Cheetah hunts twice. All-in-all extremely satisfying (ii) Lodges, in order of our liking - (a) Mara Serena Lodge (truly exceptional place this) (b) Keekorok Lodge (c) Kibo Safari Camp. AVERAGE (4*) part of the tour were the following: (i) Flamingo Hill Camp at Lake Nakuru - staff could definitely improve their courtesy. Following aspects could have been IMPROVED : (i) Upkeep of the Toyota Safari vehicle provided to us (ii) Error in booking 3 single rooms instead of 1 double occupancy and 1 single occupancy room due to miscommunication. The number of rooms to be booked should come out clearly in the quotation
