Our cook John was vert talented and made good dishes throughout the whole trip. They made us feel very welcomed and overall, it was a great experience.

Once in a lifetime experience
5/5

It was great to be welcomed by friendly people from Heri Africa. I really felt at ease when I was with everyone during my time in Tanzania. What I liked the most was their way of showing people like me what is best in their country. The experience was local and unique. It was a well-spent 10 day trip in Tanzania. Highly recommended!

Ezekiel Malongoza is an awseome guide and a great person
5/5

This review is for one of Heri Africa quide/drivers - Ezekiel Malongoza .
My husband and I have traveled to Tanzania in Feb, 2015. Unfortunately we did not use Heri Africa, but we were lucky enough to have one of their current driver/guides-Ezekiel Malongoza. We met and had Ezek as a guide/driver by pure chance but for good. We used Tanzania on Food whose owner found Ezek to go on a private safari with us at the very last moment. It was not up until the morning of departure when we found out we were badly set up for failure by Tanzania on Food- we started the safari with a regular SUV not a safari car, Ezek was given no money for gas, entrance fees, water, etc. expenses and our safari started on a Sunday! Had we not been with Ezek we would have had no safari at all or would be stranded in the middle of nowhere. All the finances promised to him were not sent by the company owner. Ezek did his very best to defend our right, to get us going through our safari and indeed complete it. We had no idea how he arrange all our stays at different lodges having to support himself and through his very nice and helpful friend- Bonnie. There were countless obstacles, in-numerous very intense moments, and a lot of pressure he had to deal with. To top it off, with the permission of the company owner, our safari was slightly changed to include even more challenging rout - going to Lake Namecon and staying 2 night there, and then to Serengeti. This diversion even though beautiful was difficult to travel and with almost no resources available, no internet, cell phone connection, and extremely sparsely if at all populated.
Ezek was relentless in his efforts to give us the best possible experience. He went through a lot to assure we had a memorable experience. He was way more than a guide/driver. He would not sleep or it to arrange our next day experience with no company support. This great man was so a real gem to us- we would have been likely stranded by any other guide at the very beginning, however he did magics to continue the journey with us. Eventually he came with us to TTB in Arusha to report our case and spent another day and a half with us in Arusha area to make sure we were safe and well. He even invited us to his house and offered a tasty dinner prepared by his wife before taking us to the airport for our return home flight.

Any words would be weak to express our thanks to Ezek. He is a great person with huge heart, very customer dedicated, always willing to help, very flexible, and was able to do for us something we are certain no one else would have done. We hope we come back and meet him again. He is a person we would always remember and always be extremely thankful to. Big hugs from me and George dear Ezek.

First Africa safari experience
5/5

When we planed our trip to Tanzania, we wrote to several companies as they didn't have prices on their pages and were quite surprised about high safari prices. And then luckily we found safaribookings.com site with offers from different safari companies. As we already had booked hotel in Arusha, we choose two one day safaris- to Tarangire and Arusha park with Heri Africa Tours as they offered reasonable price for safari. About tour booking it was pleasure to contact with manager Ima, very responsive and responds very quickly. She and driver/guide Tom met us in the hotel day before tours and give all necessary information about next two days. We are very satisfied with tours and definetely can suggest this company. Thanks Ima and Tom, we had lot of fun and it was great to met you.

Best safari experience
5/5

We booked a 2 day Safari (Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater) and the experience was just perfect! Already during the booking Elisante - the Manager - did a great job, offering us different options and replying to our emails very fast. Once Arrivedin Arusha they were already waiting for us. Tom - the guide is a very smart man, having a huge knowledge about the country and its nature and culture and did a great job, showing us all great spots in the mentioned national parks. Also his driving skills are very smooth and you always feel very safe. If i go back to Arusha, I would definitely book with Heri again!

Superb 4 day trip by Heri Africa Tours
5/5

As it was our first time to travel to Tanzania, it was a bit overwhelming to even start planning a 15 day trip to the country - starting from Dar Es Salaam to Moshi and Arusha then Zanzibar and back to Dar. Through a friend's personal recommendation, we contacted a local guide who gave us a ridiculous quote for a 7 day tour. Frustrated, we asked for help from other expat friends who work in Dar and searched for budget tours as well. Luck turned out when we found Immaculate's Facebook Page. Immaculate responded well to most of the questions we asked re visas, yellow fever vaccination, transits, and most importantly - details on our planned Safari trip. She gave us a detailed and clear itinerary for Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and to our surprise, a quote which suits our budget. Two weeks before our trip, we've been in close contact with Immaculate to sort out the minute details of our trip, making sure that we maximize our time, save on costs and enjoy. Immaculate was very helpful in dealing with our hotel reservations (giving us choices and tips), bus arrangements (Dar to Moshi), and flight bookings (Arusha to Zanzibar). She gave us advise on how to improve our 15 day itinerary and gladly answered all our questions (even calling the immigration in Dar just to make sure we had the relevant info re visa and yellow fever vaccination).

When we reached Moshi, she volunteered to pick us up from our hotel and give us a free tour to the waterfalls and hot springs since she has a client doing the tour anyway. It was a very thoughtful offer and by doing that we met another lovely traveler who later became a friend. In Arusha, Immaculate took us to our hotel, making sure that we had everything we need and that we're comfortable. In the morning, we were picked up on time by her friendly driver and the 4x4 car ready for our Safari.

The whole Safari experience exceeded our expectations. Earlier on, we were warned by friends and other travelers about fly by night tour operators, sub-standard services, etc. especially when taking budget Safaris. Turned out, we had the best experience with Mike (driver and guide), Immaculate (managing director) and John (chef). Immaculate joined us during our Safari, making sure that we enjoy our trip and all our needs were met. Mike, on the other had, did his best to answer all our questions and patiently showed flexibility to accommodate our requests. John, our wonderful chef, was also very friendly, flexible and accommodating.

In the 4 days that we were on Safari, we enjoyed every bit of it. Each day was carefully planned, packed with game drives and other side trips. We enjoyed the special trips to the Maasai villages, buying a goat for our barbecue dinner, a quick visit to the Olduvai Gorge, and picnics near the lake and under big trees in the savannah. Immaculate made sure that what's on the itinerary was followed and not rushed.

On our last day in Arusha, Immaculate showed us around the city before our flight in the afternoon. We enjoyed visiting the Cultural Arts Center, containing amazing artworks from various artists not only in Tanzania but in Africa as well. The whole morning was relaxing. A few hours before our flight, Immaculate took us to the airport.

Our whole experience with Heri Africa Tours made us appreciate our trip to Tanzania even more. There was no dull moment during the trip, communication was very efficient, the driver and guide provided was very friendly-humble-knowledgeable and fun to be with, arrangements were superb, itinerary was completely followed, no extra or additional charges even when we were with them for 6 days (for a 4 day trip), personalized service, and professional way of handling our needs. I couldn't ask for more.

We also organize tours in the Kurdistan region of Iraq (www.kurdistantours.net) and so we know what it looks like to have quality service. Immaculate and her crew surely exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend their company to anyone who wants to experience Tanzania in a meaningful way.

They truly care about clients!
5/5

We're just back from 2 weeks in Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar and Immaculate welcomed us in Tanzania for an amazing 2 days safari in Manyara Lake and N'Gorongoro crater! Her and her team truly care about us by asking what we wanted to see the most in order to brief the driver. Driver was excellent, no need to ask for anything since he was anticipating everything - stop to take picture, break to go to accommodation,...The chef as well prepared the meals carefully. We strongly recommend anybody who want to go to Tanzania to go with them!
