Budget friendly and very educational.
5/5

All round a very good company. I was kept informed of what was going on and what stages we were at with booking my trip. Mostly done through WhatsApp. My driver was a proper local and a keen birdwatcher, something I didn’t know I’d get to learn about on my 12 days. Every day on safari and in the Bush were a treat as I’d constantly be getting taught something. Accommodation provided was very fair for the price I paid and the vehicle good too. It broke down, but given the condition of the roads, I wasn’t surprised.

5-Day-Gorilla-and-Chimpanzee-Safari
4/5

Compared to other tour operators Ababa offered us the best price in total. Although there were some communication problems at the beginning we enjoyed the 5-Day-Safari filled with great experiences. The accommodations lived up to our expectations with good service and delicious food. Sadly our guide wasn‘t able to join us before the third day of safari. Until then we were accompanied by our driver who did his best but couldn’t really explain a lot. From then on our guide took good care of us. We even extended the safari by adding another day visiting the Lake Bunyonyi. The safari tour has a timetable rich in variety including the Chimpanzee Trekking as well as a Gorilla Trekking, a Boat Cruise which is a great safari experience itself and some game drives trough Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi National Park.

Best holiday ever!
4/5

We had a wonderful trip with Ababa safari tours and travels. Our guide, Hamsa, was really caring and has nice stories about Uganda, his experiences and the animals. Robert organized it very well. I liked our stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park at Engiri Game Lodge. My high light was the gorilla that trekking. I could really recommend a safari with this agency. You could add one day at the Lake after the hikes, for some relaxation. :-)

Excellent once in a life time experience with Ababa Safaris!
4/5

There were some brief issues with email communication which caused some concern to us, but once that was solved, the communications were much smoother! I would suggest perhaps a touch more outreach right before the Safari confirming all details (was provided but when asked) but otherwise, the reservations and permits were very smooth, our driver (Hamza) was really lovely and extremely trustworthy and knowledgeable and the 4 day itinerary as suggested by ABABA was really a great range of different terrain and experience in the beautiful country of Uganda. And the Gorillas!!! A once in a lifetime memory.

Safari itself was positive but tour operator's organizational skills left a lot to be desired
3/5

If I were reviewing the gorilla trekking experience and safari itself, I would have provided a rating of 4. Unfortunately, the disorganization and confusing communication I experienced from the actual planning around the trip by the tour operator before and after the trip detracted from my overall customer experience. As mentioned by other reviewers, there are still a few improvements that the tour operator should pay attention to and address, specifically around improving their communication - including more proactive communication leading up to trip around key logistical details and making their communication within office more streamlined so there is less confusion for the client. There were a few coordination lapses and lack of attention to detail that detracted from what would have been otherwise an enjoyable trip. Though the owner did try to redeem this by following up on a daily basis on how our trip was going, unfortunately, it did not prevent the lapses from affecting my overall customer experience - including confusion around payment and price for trip. The redeeming factor was that the safari guide and driver - Hamza - was very client-focused, trustworthy, and efficient and once the trip started, our group spent the majority of our time with him.

It was an absolutely top-notch experience

Guide: Hamza was amazing, very knowledgeable and willing to share all he knew.
COmmunications: We were very secure in knowig that our trip was being well managed, emails/messages were always answered promptly from the booking process to just before the trip.

It more than lived up to expectations - Bwindi in particular is an experience everyone should have!

Great tour operator with outstanding service
5/5

I took the Kampala city tour in Uganda only for a half day in July 2021 as my schedule was very tight. It was a great experience for me. My tour guide, Mr. Robert, was outstanding. I highly recommended.
