Glamping with a great guide
5/5

I found Cape Fig through a tour operator in Lusaka where I live. The price was very affordable and even though they warned me it would be basic, it was a very comfortable camping experience. They have spacious canvas tents where each person has a comfortable cot. They set up a hot shower for you and you are served three course meals fit for a restaurant. Simon is a really great guide and I was very happy to be supporting a local owner run company. I would highly recommend cape fig safaris to anyone looking to have a personal camping experience in Chobe.

Excellent operator run by a very passionate and knowledgeable local owner cum guide
5/5

I came to know about Cape Fig safari thru google search. It had received many good reviews on their camping safari offerings at Chobe. One of the important factors on why we choose Cape Fig was bcos Cape Fig was able to accommodate our flexible schedule.

We booked a 3D2N Camping Safari@Chobe a few months back and wired him the deposit to secure the booking, and subsequently the balance 2 weeks before the trip. On the actual day, Simon personally picked us from Kasane airport at 2pm and headed straight to Chobe National Park to kick start our game drive. This actually save us an unnecessary day of staying in Kasane town. If you opted for other operators, they will only begin the game drive the next morning.

Simon is an experienced guide and skilled in his job especially when it comes to spotting elusive animal like leopard. He is passionate, knowledgeable and knows every single thing that moves in the park including the plants

A great adventure- small & locally owned
5/5

Simon provided us a great 2 night camping Safari in Chobe national park. The experience included a boat ride and many different drives around the park, where we got to see just about every animal that we could have hoped for ( elephants, zebras, giraffes, baboons, birds, hyenas, dung beetles, lions, etc). Camping was rustic but well prepared, and included good meals cooked over the fire, plenty of snacks, tea, and rain gear for when it started pouring. He even went above and beyond to accommodate our 18 month old on the adventures. The only downside of camping was lots of ants. Simon owns and operates Cape Fig Safaris and is exactly the kind of person you want to hire if you're looking to support a small locally owned Safari operation.
