Mama Tembo took my money and failed to deliver or refund

Mama Tembo Tours removed me mid tour and dropped me off in a foreign city with no hotel reservations or flight home. She stated I broke the law. No police or security were called. Mama Tembo refused to tell me which law I broke. I believe this was all fabricated. Mama Tembo has yet to reimburse me for my expenses to get home or for the unused portion of the tour. I would not trust Mama Tembo with my money or my life.

We are sorry that you were unhappy with the way your tour ended. However, we feel it is important to clarify the circumstances for future travelers reading this review.

During the tour, a number of serious concerns arose regarding your interactions with other guests, our tour guide, and members of the local staff. We initially tried to resolve the situation and offered you the option of leaving the tour voluntarily with a refund of the tour cost, excluding airfare. You chose to continue.

Unfortunately, the situation subsequently escalated. After we became aware of further inappropriate communications and behavior involving our guide and other members of the group, we determined that continuing the tour was no longer workable. Our responsibility extends not only to an individual guest, but also to the safety, dignity and wellbeing of our guides, local partners and everyone traveling with the group. For that reason, we made the difficult decision to remove you from the tour.

We do not make such decisions lightly, and in many years of operating tours this has been an extremely unusual situation. While we regret that your experience ended this way, we stand by the decision we made in the interests of our staff, partners and the other guests on the tour.
