Amazing Trip organised to the tiny details. Can't wait to go back!
I've just returned from an incredible honeymoon in Zimbabwe organised by Clyde at Tailormade Africa. We couldn’t be more grateful for our experience with Clyde, his attentiveness and attention to detail from the initial planning to the moment we returned home. Clyde offered fantastic advice, tailoring our trip to include the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure across Hwange National Park, Zambezi National Park and Cape Town.
The safaris themselves were beyond our expectations. The accommodation options were beautiful, wildlife encounters unforgettable, and the level of care and friendliness of the staff was exceptional. The travel logistics were just as impressive — porters and drivers waiting for us at every stage to fast-track us through security and assist with visas, making the journey smooth and stress-free.
We were also impressed with the safety and health awareness in Zimbabwe. We were mostly located in relatively remote locations and low-density accommodations; with high hygiene standards we felt at ease and had no health concerns whilst in Africa. Everyone in Zimbabwe was welcoming and friendly, which added to the sense of comfort and security throughout our trip.
I would highly recommend Clyde and Tailormade Africa for anyone looking to explore Africa in a truly personalised way. We will be back in a few years :)

For the once in a lifetime safari go no further than Tailormade Africa
Clyde and the team at Taylormade Africa take the guess work out of what is often a once in a lifetime safari. The upfront planning helps design a bespoke African experience which is second to none. The Safari was then fully planned with an interactive app to help layout the plan and provides useful information like visa requirements etc. Clyde and the team are then available when needed to help turn the plan into action. We had 2 weeks planned which included Kenya and Tanzania. We wanted to see the migration and also Ruaha in southern Tanzania. Taylormade Africa then booked all the accommodation, flights and transfers. From the time we landed in Kenya to being dropped off in Dar Es Salaam everything went to plan with first class service at every step. Clyde and the team checked in on us and are available if and when needed. The Serengeti is getting very crowded and you really need the services of Tailormade Africa to help you navigate the options and help make this an exceptional experience . Now how can we make this once in a lifetime holiday happen again. 5 stars to Tailormade Africa.

Great service from an engaged operator
My wife and I spent three very enjoyable weeks in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Tailormade Africa made all of the arrangements in and everything worked out well. The operator was responsive to requirements and every place we went to met or exceeded our expectations. All of our transfers to and from the airports, and camps were arranged and worked seamlessly. Clyde Beatty, our contact from Tailormade Africa, was very helpful during the planning, provided excellent advice and helpful tips.

My wife and I had a genuinely fantastic experience working with Rob Morley at Tailormade Africa to plan our Safari to celebrate our marriage. From the very beginning, Rob was genuinely interested in who we were as people - what we liked, what we did not like and what we wanted to get out of the experience. We spoke to Rob numerous times over the phone during the initial stages, which was a very different approach to other vendors we were also in contact with. Of course, budget was a big factor in what we could achieve from the trip and Rob was extremely honest and accommodating. Ultimately, what resulted was a trip of a lifetime for us at a price we were happy with. Communication with the whole team at Tailormade was extremely smooth and efficient, with great response times (over the phone and email before the trip). We felt looked after during the whole process and everything was organised for us. Once we began our trip, we did not have a single logistical issue. Being Africa, there were of course a few things that happened along the way but Tailormade were always there to mop anything up with the respective hotels/safari camp - we did not feel any disruption at all ourselves, repeating again how genuinely looked after we felt during the whole experience. During the trip, we were in regular contact with Rob via WhatsApp, just to make sure all was okay and this was appreciated, as we knew Rob was never far away. Tailormade also recommended clothing to wear, plus supported us with travel insurance and visa processes pre-trip, again making it all feel very smooth. Lastly, Tailormade are very knowledgeable of the areas of Africa that they specialise in and we do not think we would have had the same experience booking through another vendor - the recommendations from Tailormade were 100% unique. A huge thank you to the whole team at Tailormade for what was genuinely a holiday of a lifetime for us and we will always consider booking with them for future trips of this type. We would highly recommend you book through Tailormade for the personal touches they offer - go for someone smaller and you will feel the difference!

sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but our experience dealing with Clyde was not satisfactory
We travel to Zimbabwe in June. From the get go, we said we are flexible with our dates. In the preplanning we were not given an option to fly from Joburg to Chilo Lodge, instead, we lost a day and a half and around $1000.00 , Clyde sent us from Joburg to Harare, staying overnight, and taking a charter flight back south to Chilo.
The option to fly directly to Chilo was discovered by me later in the planning, when according to Clyde dates could not be changed, which was a false information.
All the camps we stayed in, indicated that dates could be changed.
Clyde arranged a transfer between Chilo and our next camp at Chesakwe by road (4:30 hours of torture) which we could have instead flown (were told by the driver).That option, again were not given to us.
when the guest house in Harare were mentioned, I requested a change to another place, which was granted.
Closer to our departure, I discovered that Clyde booked us back in the guesthouse without consulting us.
All these unfortunate planning, took away a lot of the pleasure one has in participating in a safari , no matter which country you visit.

Expert Advice, Great Service.
My family of 4 just returned from an African vacation- 14 days plus travel, incl. 4 stops in 2 countries. The entire trip was planned and coordinated through Tailormade Africa. We are very satisfied customers- would recommend Tailormade without hesitation (and will use them again in the future!)
I worked with Rob Morley, one of the company's founders. He was a wealth of information and advice and I never felt like he was pushing me in one direction or another, or trying to upsell. He likely works with many families who want a "sign here" easy experience, but that's not me. I'm a DIY planner (overthinker?) by nature but realized I'd met my match with Africa, and needed professional assistance. So I came to the conversation with some research and ideas, which Rob helped me mold into an optimal itinerary. He was always patient and thorough in all conversations and responsive via whatsapp and email. The trip came in exactly at budget and went smoothly. It was a complicated itinerary with lots of transfers, car services, inter-Africa flights, etc. It provided amazing peace of mind to know Rob and his team had coordinated everything so well- I never had a worry and there wasn't a single hitch in the logistics.
More importantly, the actual recommendations he provided were fantastic. My family loved every stop. We stayed at one lodge I was excited to try, and he vetted and approved. The other 3 lodgings were not on my radar at all and we did solely on his advice. I felt like we got an expertly thought-through and curated itinerary. Rob provided on the ground support through whatsapp- he and his colleagues followed along our every stop (I believe they were in communication behind the scenes much of the time- a process invisible to us but likely caused the smooth sailing of our trip).
In summary: mission accomplished- a special family vacation that was an amazing success! In fact, it was so good that we've stopped calling it our "once in a lifetime" splurge and instead are already dreaming how and when to get back....
Genuinely emotional
We travelled as a family of 4 last year to coincide with my 50th birthday. Timing meant we were toward the end of the migration so I guess my expectation was somewhat managed in terms of what we would experience.
The team were very engaged during the planning phase, we were met at Kilimanjaro airport and looked after until ultimately leave Zanzibar at the end of the trip, with no real need to check in with Rob and the team as everything was running so smoothly.
Highlights
That time of year is quieter, what that meant was we had the open top Land Cruiser to ourselves every day which gave us absolute freedom to choose our day and what we hoped to see; but we needn’t have worried we saw everything and more.
We were based at Kaz Kaz, warmly welcomed well fed and well looked after by Omi and his team.
I thought people joked when they talked about lions outside your tent at night; it’s no joke and an incredible experience.
The wildlife encounters were thrilling but professionally and respectfully managed by our guide, a fountain of knowledge who worked tirelessly through our trip.
Brilliant, kids even got on with one another so it must have been top drawer!

Fantastic and Memorable Trip

Recently went on a safari trip to Zimbabwe. We had originally planned to go to Okavanga Delta, Botswana but due to the dry season it would have be difficult to be able to enjoy the game we would have hoped for. Clyde at Tailormade Africa (TA) therefore recommended a private concession in Hwange and also a lodge in Zambezi. Both recommendations turned out to be fabulous and our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the trip. All the planning, booking and logistics had been taken care of by TA and the whole trip went seamlessly well with no hiccups at all. The accommodation was of the very highest order and the guides were equally brilliant! The TA representative in Africa, Amy, was in touch which was very reassuring. We have no hesitation in recommending Clyde and TA. It was once in life time experience and they made sure we were not disappointed. Thank you to the TA team for the expericence.

Fantastic Communication, and Excellent Execution!
We had a wonderful safari in Kruger, where we were fortunate enough to see all of the Big 5! The accommodation was exactly like the photos and the staff were all lovely, making us all feel very safe in the "tents". Our guide was also very knowledgable and kept everyone engaged throughout the game drives. Thank you so much to Clyde and the TailorMade Team for making this trip so memorable and exceeding our expectations.
