Consistently delivers what we want - without us having to ask!
This was our 3rd trip with Tailormade Africa. In truth, we have never asked Clyde to organise a specific itinerary. He talks to us, listens to our thoughts, understands what we want and then puts together trips that constantly exceed expectations in terms of the safari experience but also the ambience and style that we prefer.
His planning is detailed and prompt. He always explains in detail how he thinks the itinerary will work for us and what we will get out of it. He is never wrong. For example, he knows we don't like crowds and prefer the expansive safari experience so this year he recommended Southern Tanzania, far away from the crowds of the north. We stayed at Laba Siwandu in Selous followed by a bush walking safari at the isolated Kichaka camp in Ruaha. Both were stunning in every way possible.
Clyde tells you he monitors your travels from home 24/7 and we can confirm he does just that. Problems in the Gulf meant we missed our connection in Dubai to Dar. We arrived in Dubai around 6am UK time to messages from Clyde and Josh advising us of our options. By the time we arrived at our Emirates layover hotel, 45 minutes later, they had rearranged our internal flights in Tanzania. We therefore only missed a half day of our safari as a result and, more to the point, relaxed in Dubai knowing that all was good!
An often overlooked point travelling in Africa is the chaos and confusion in some of the airports. Not helpful if you're chasing a connection. On arrival in/out at Dar, Clyde arranged airside help to take us through the terminal as quickly as possible. Invaluable! He always messages at each camp to check in and ensure there are no problems. There never are.
The service that Clyde and his team provide is outstanding. He treats each client as though they were a close relative, ensuring they have the best time possible. His knowledge of Africa and the various suppliers is immense. I always look forward to tapping into his brain and seeing what he suggests.
In short, Tailormade Africa provide an invaluable service and great value.

We had a terrific service from Tailormade Africa. Clyde spent time get to know us and understand what we wanted to experience. His advice and direction with respect to where to go and what to do and see was invaluable. Seamless bookings and the trip was smooth with 'hand holding' from start to finish. The Ikuka camp was superb. Great guide and spectacular views. We will be going again!
