What an amazing tour!
5/5

Kalahari Breeze are fantastic Tour Operators and Agents. I highly recommend you use their services. Everything was perfectly organised, custom to our requests. They were very easy to communicate with, always replying to emails in a timely and helpful manner. Maria, Chris and their staff do a wonderful job and we could not regard them higher!

Kalahari Breeze can handle complex travel arrangements
5/5

We did the Three River 8-day Safari that starts in Maun (3 nights), Kasane (2 nights), and Victoria Falls (2 nights). This was our first safari so we wanted a trip that exposed us to different environments in Botswana and Zimbabwe in relative comfort.

Kalahari Breeze did an amazing job of coordinating all of the accomodations, game drives, excursions, and transfers. Maria and Chris worked very close with us, coaching us through the registration and payment process. They met us at the start of our safari, and we had the good fortune to visit with them at length at the end of our time in Maun. In Kasane, we met up with Maria's sister Lizzy who also helps out in this family-owned and operated safari business. We liked the various safari offerings that Kalahari Breeze offered for a mid-range cost, and highly recommend their service to first-time safari travelers.

The three lodges that we stayed at were very different: Enviro-Villa, a small lodge with a very laid-back ambience, was on the edge of Maun next to a dry river bed. We thoroughly enjoyed the pavilion next to the pool and the ability to take our meals inside or out while watching the cattle and goats graze nearby. The staff were extremely accomodating and courteous. One night the night watchman built a fire for us to enjoy. While the outside of the lodge looks very authentic with its thatched roof, expect somewhat cramped quarters and uneven floors! Otherwise, a very pleasant place.

In Kasane we stayed at Kwalape Lodge, a larger lodge with forty rooms. We came on a weekend when there was a large birthday party going on poolside. It felt touristy and not quite what we expected for a safari lodge. But the room felt spacious and the grounds were nicely groomed. The breakfast buffet was good, but the first night we waited 1-1/2 hour for dinner. Masuwe Lodge in Zimbabwe was absolutely wonderful. The staff, accomodations, and food were 5-star in our opinion. It is about 7 km outside of Victoria Falls situated in a private game reserve. While we didn't expect to have this level of service on a mid-range safari, it certainly helped make our last two days the very best.

Game drives: The Maun portion of the trip took us to the Moremi Game Reserve where we went overland to the edge of the Okavango Delta and boarded mokoro boats to view the hippos, crocodiles, birds, and even a green mamba! The 2nd day land tour to the Moremi Game Reserve provided views of many impalas, zudus, some steenbok, elephants, giraffes, a pride of lions, baboons, and zebras. Tour guides for both days were excellent and well-versed in the ecology of the delta.

The morning drive in the Chobe Game Park took us along the Chobe River and the afternoon boat ride was on the river. In the morning we didn't see much that we hadn't seen before in the way of wildlife, but watching the lions devour the cape buffalo up close was rewarding. Our tour guide was not very experienced or communicative, and we spent too much time on mechanical difficulties with the battery connection. The evening boat tour was lovely with good views of hippos and cape buffalo.

Victoria Falls turned out to be quite fun for our family. On the second day my husband and I decided to skip the game drive at Masuwe Lodge. They warned us that we would see little else other than impala and a few cape buffalo. We opted to zipline across the gorge, a first for us. Our son opted for the gorge swing, which starts with a 70 metre free fall. Both were exhilarating and a lot of fun for us. This part of the tour was extra and not something Kalahari Breeze provided. In the afternoon Kalahari Breeze had arranged High Tea on Livingstone Island. The high tea part is malarky! You will be taking a dip in the Devil's Pool at the edge of Victoria Falls. If you are scared of heights, fast-running water, and risk-adverse, you will want to avoid this, but our family had the time of our life! Our "high tea" was gin&tonic and beer.

Next to Masuwe Lodge at Victoria Falls is the Stanley and Livingstone Private Game Reserve. We learned that they were involved in black rhino conservation. The Masuwe Lodge manager arranged for us to have an early morning game drive at extra cost before we departed that morning for Johannesburg. It was totally worth it. We say 7 rhino - two mothers and babies in one area, another mother and babe upclose in the bush, and another solitary male. You will also see lots of zebras, baboons, and giraffes as well.

We were very satisfied with our safari overall. It was definitely more "glamping" than camping, but for a first time experience it provided everything we wanted. Chris and Maria can provide a more authentic bush experience for those who want fewer material comforts.

Great Animals and awesome nature.
5/5

My girlfriend and me did the Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls Five Days Tour.
First of all, it was perfectly organized and Maria and her team are also highly flexible when it comes to personal wishes, so far not included into the tour. They will make it happen.
The Chobe National Park is literally full of animals. We did morning, afternoon and boat safaris. Every time we saw a great bunch of animals, including lions and leopards.
The Victoria Falls tour was as well spectacular. Here, Kalahari also offers you to highly customize your trip. We chose to visit the Devils Pool which was a breathtaking experience and stunningly organized (cool beer after the swim!).
The Safari Lodges picked by Kalahari are very comfy and natural. In the Marambu River Lodge we spent the nights next to elefants and hippos. The food in the lodges was really good and very diversified.
I can highly recommend Kalahari and would always go on tour with them again. :-)

Unforgettable trip
5/5

We spent 11 days from Okavango delta to Victoria Falls, including 4 days in mobile safari.
It was an amazing experience, we could see plenty of animals and beautiful landscapes, thanks to a great team: Maria and Chris, very kind and efficient, Ranger, George and Kingsley, friendly, professional and tireless.
Camping in the wild is safe, tents are confortable with attached bathroom, food is very good (thank you George).
All the hotels and lodges were clean and good.
Highly recommended!

A Fantastic Experience
5/5

What a great trip which was organized and executed by the Kalahari Breeze team in such a professional and friendly manner. Very pleased with the game drives and a great camping experience with our guides. The food cooked by our guides was really good! So lovely to get freshly baked bread in the morning!

The game drives through Moemi and Chobe were wonderful and so lovely to see all the animals in the wild.

I really enjoyed the flights that were organized over the Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls.

The lodges I stayed in at the beginning and start and end of my trip at Maun, Kasane and Victoria falls were really wonderful. I was made to feel very special at all of these lodges.

All in all a great experience with so many great memories too.

Wonderful experience of Botswanas natural parks.
5/5

We did a modified "Best of Northern Botswana" tour. From day 1 we experienced professional and helpful staff. They were very attentive, helpful (especially when our bags arrived 2 days late) and friendly. Our guide, Gibson, was skillfull and lovely to have as our guide throughout our 5 day bush camping. LOVED camping in the bush, and the facilities were surprisingly good and comfortable!
Expect a well organized safari with Kalahari Breeze.

It was so much fun going into the bushes on game drives. And it was amazing how well we could live in our camps in the bush. We truly enjoyed our time with Kalahari Breeze and give them our best recommendation.

great experience in the national parks of Botswana doing wild camping
5/5

we had booked a safari with Kalahari Breeze in the northern parks of Botswana (Delta, Savute, Chobe). We did wild camping for 7 days in the middle of the parks far away from any civilization. It was such a great experience and Kalahari Breeze made the trip as comfortable as possible. The freshly made food was wonderful and we had an excellent guide. Because of him we have seen all the different animals also the ones, which are shy and hard to find. We got great pictures of leopards and lions with their babies. All in all I can recommend to experience the adventure with Kalahari Breeze as they take good care of you and attend to your wishes as much as they can.

Trip of a Lifetime - Okavango Delta - Chobe - Vic Falls Tour
5/5

Thanks to Kalahari Breeze for a phenomenal tour!

Pre-Tour: After emailing Maria of an idea of what we wanted to see and the time frame/budget, she emailed me within 24 hours with an itinerary that fit our needs. Of course there were many questions before we said "yes" and Maria answered them all promptly. Paying for the tour was easy too. She sent a detailed itinerary that had every date, time and company we should expect to see that I printed and referred to in case I had forgotten what we were doing each day.

During Tour: So amazed at how smoothly things went. From every pick up point to the activities that were included (game drives, walking safaris, two boat rides). The camping on the delta was better than expected. The food was great considering there was no stove, oven, fridge, etc. I mean, we had baked lasagna and fresh baked bread!! And, the people were so friendly and just wanted to make sure you were comfortable. Of course the wildlife was fantastic and Victoria Falls was something that was on my bucket list. Definitely better than Niagara Falls (IMHO).

Someday I want to visit the Kalahari Desert and I will use Kalahari Breeze as my tour operator when I do.
