Truly a "Gorillas in the Mist" tour!
5/5

Our trip to Rwanda and Uganda started off with a lot of excitement. This isn't your usual East Africa trip - after all we were going to trek through dense forest scouting for mountain Gorillas - the highlight of the trip. It lived up to every wild expectation we had minus Tarzan.

We started our travels in Kigali - Rwanda is a beautiful country, clean, and her people are friendly to a fault. It's a country that is shaking off its dark past of genocide. I wish them the very best! Do visit the Genocide Memorial - we all can learn a lot from that dark past.

Day 1 - Golden Monkeys at Virunga. Mild trek through bamboo forest to view these beautiful creatures very up close. Stop on the way when you see sugarcane and chew on it the old fashioned way.
Day 2 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - and trust me it IS!! It's about a 15 mile round trip to spend an hour with the Nkuringo family. For God's sake please don't ask if Gorilla's are "aggressive", "are they man-eaters" and the like. They are the most gentle beings I have seen. What a beautiful, tiring, beautiful, life-changing experience. There are 900, yes just 900 left in the wild!
Day 3 - Brief stop over at Kalinzu to spot Chimps (on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We saw them right away, but they prefer to hang out waaay on top of the canopy. Still worthwhile.
Day 4 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - very large area, but not as prolific as the Maara. Evening boat tour down the Kazinga Channel was a dream. Spectacular. I recommend doing this twice in lieu of going inside the park.
Day 5 - Lake Mburo National Park. Rwakoko lodge is high up on a rocky hill - its a beautiful lodge. Night safari and next day morning bird walk were the highlights. We all wished we should have spent an extra day here. Watch out for baboons - these curious, naughty buggers will steal anything they can lay their hands on. One of them still has my wife-beater T-shirt!
Day 6 - Loooong drive to Jinja - the source of the Nile. To be honest the drive was very tiring - especially after the first 5 days where we spent a lot of time amongst nature. En route you can stop by the Equator and take those selfies!! Also don't hesitate to try the local banana hooch, or the sweet bananas themselves. Jinja is a busy, dusty town - go there if you are into white water rafting, or would like a quite kayak down the river. Very nice experience - but be prepared for a long drive.

Why Mowgli? Personalized touch, attention to a lot of detail. Sachin is very passionate about what he does and it shows. He'll go out of his way to make your experience a great one. Don't even hesitate. Ask and he will tailor a trip you will cherish.

My second trip with Mowgli expeditions, looking forward to the third, this should say it all!
5/5

Uganda and Rwanda are not second tier safari destinations if you know what you are looking for and this is exactly where Mowgli Expeditions helped. The focus of this safari was to see primates up close and personal and Mowgli once again did an awesome job in making this trip memorable. We were able to view golden monkeys, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, and mountain gorillas. Observing a troop of golden monkeys going about their daily life in Rwanda and having mountain gorillas almost brush past you in Bwindi National Park in Uganda - these are once in a lifetime experiences. I never expected Rwanda to be an absolute jewel. The only thing people have read about Rwanda is the genocide that occurred there. 24 years have passed and now Rwanda is a spectacularly clean and well managed country, the people are peaceful and dignified, the weather is wonderful and we did not see a single pot hole all through our road trip there! The grand finale of the trip was a 2-day white water rafting experience in the river Nile in Jinja which is one of the sources of the Nile (Blue Nile) and 2 hours from Entebbe airport in Uganda.

Writing this brings back so many wonderful memories. Once again, Mowgli pulled off an awesome all-inclusive trip that included pick-up/drop-off from all airports, all ground transportation in the form of a spacious and sometimes temperamental Landcruiser which was entertaining in itself, charted out a well-thought out itinerary, picked unique and comfortable lodges and camps, ensured all of our individual needs were catered to, and above all made sure we had another unforgettable trip - all within an affordable budget. Looking forward to my third trip with Mowgli - perhaps a road trip in Namibia combined with a self-drive safari in Kruger!

Fabulous trip-5 thumbs up from the 4 of us!!!!
5/5

This was probably the best vacation our family of four (mom, dad and boys aged 17 &13) have been on. Sachin at Mowgli Expeditions was really knowledgeable about the area and came across as a Kenya safari expert. He gave us great suggestions and made sure he delivered on all of our requests. Everything went smoothly on our nine day trip which is a testament to his attention to detail.
We were enthralled by the amazing sights we saw on safari- the sheer, rugged beauty and size of the Savannah that is home to so many incredible animals big and small. Again, we were very thankful for our expert guide and driver whose stories and commentary added to the excitement of the experience.
Mowgli Expeditions also did an awesome job on our accommodations - all top notch!
The best things in life are the people we love, the places we visit and the memories we make along the way........Thanks Sachin and Mowgli Expeditions for the unforgettable memories.......

Everything was organized extremely well. All we had to do was show up. We loved where we stayed and where we went for the safaris. If I were to go on another safari I would definitely go with Mowgli Expeditions.

The Kenya trip
5/5

In the summer of 2018 I went to Kenya and had a blast! This was my first time in Africa and I would have not had the same experience with out mowgli expeditions. Their knowledge of the different species in Africa really let’s you learn about the wild life that you are witnessing. I would highly recommend anybody who is thinking about going to Africa to go with mowgli expeditions, trust me you will not regret it.

Amazing Experience!
5/5

I traveled to Kenya with Mowgli Expeditions to see the wildlife and ride on safaris. The trip was amazing to say the least. Not only did our family see the diverse wildlife, but also encountered the diverse African culture. We visited places which we would have not been able to if it were not for Mowgli Expeditions. Our family truly felt like we received an authentic and fun experience. Whether it be staying in luxury tents in the heart of the Masai Mara or watching a pride of lions wandering no more than 10 feet from our vehicle, the trip was always filled with fun events. While I was skeptical about the safety of the area, the trip was very professional and I felt safe where ever we went. I would definitely recommend Mowgli Expeditions to any adventure seeking family who wants to have some fun.

This was a lifetime aspiration of mine and Mowgli Expeditions exceeded all my expectations!
5/5

I was a part of a group of six including Sachin (who runs Mowgli Expeditions) that enjoyed a week exploring the wilderness in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru in Kenya. It was wonderfully organized end to end. Even though it was an all-inclusive trip with a fixed itinerary, they try and customize it to individual needs in terms of accommodation, food preferences, etc to the extent possible. These little things are what elevates a good trip to a fantastic one. This is not a luxury safari but you can expect safe & comfortable accommodation, good food, clean toilets and hot showers. All this at a very reasonable price, I did my own research and could not find better pricing with anyone else.
Sachin is a consummate naturalist and you cannot help getting carried away by his passion, genuine love and appreciation for the natural world. This was my third safari in Africa and the second one with Sachin. I would highly recommend a trip with Mowgli expeditions if you want to appreciate the natural world with the best guide and friend possible, enjoy wonderful company with some interesting conversations, debates, and jokes around the camp fire, and get the best bang for the buck while doing all of this!

Unforgettable trip to Kenya - Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru
5/5

I had a chance to return to Kenya after 17 years thanks to Sachin from Mowgli Expeditions putting together a 6 day trip to the Mara and Lake Nakuru. He did a great job on picking a package that was heavy on wildlife viewing (which matters most to me) and light on the wallet. A fun bunch of us thoroughly enjoyed our time - wildlife viewing was breathtaking. Accommodation and food was good - especially at Nakuru. I strongly recommend that Mowgli Expeditions plan your next trip to Africa.

I am not a big fan of writing reviews (as I don’t get impressed easy:).
5/5

I am not a big fan of writing reviews (as I don’t get impressed easy:). However my colossal experience on my recent trip of wildlife expedition (Masai Mara – Nakuru) at kenya with Mowgli Expeditions has compelled me to write this review so more people can experience the thing which I have experienced. The group trip was well organized. It was a boutique like experience. The trip was planned in such a way that I felt the trip was organized just for me. I saw Africa in its rawness, I’m novice in it so we had great discussion about the wildlife. I met great people along the way. I got so so much for fraction of the cost what other travel agency charging me!!! For anyone who wants to travel to Africa or go on any other expedition- I highly recommend you checkout mowgliexpeditions.com. I’m constantly checking the website of Mowgli Expeditions to know where I’m going next !!!.

Awesome Safari at Masai Mara
4/5

The only wildlife I'd ever seen was in the zoo. I'm so blessed to be a part of this trip to see the African wildlife national geographic style in real life! Sachin has spoilt us rotten and shown a part of life that I was never exposed to. While technology has made this a global village and connected us with each other, Mowgli expeditions has helped me connect with nature and that's immensely satisfying beyond words. Am already looking forward to the next trip - Botswana or Congo? One must do such trips as often and as regularly as possible. My only request for the next trip is to have a break in the afternoons or have a day off in between to rest up.
