Memories that will last a lifetime
5/5

Brilliant from start to finish. I was nervous before we arrived as although I have visited Botswana before and done a few game drives I didn't know what to expect with an over night safari. All questions I had were expertly answered by Monametsi via email and he was also able to give good advice given on what to bring with us. Once we meet the team at Maun airport any worries were dispelled as we could not have asked for a nicer bunch of guys who made us all feel relaxed, safe and very well looked after. The depth of knowledge and respect our guide had for the Delta and the animals & birds was brilliant.
Our tents & beds were perfect, the food was really good my only complain was we didn't have more time to spend on our adventure just the one night and two days.
Our group was a family of five with three teenagers in the party all of us had a ball and loved every amazing minute we spent from slipping along the small delta tributes in a canoe, to spotting the lions, or adding to our Elephant count, to watching the stars at night the whole adventure was fantastic. Next time we come I definitely want to to do a longer trip.

5days/4 night camping safari from Maun to Kasane
5/5

View months ago I did a 5 days/4 nights camping safari with Moonstroll Vantage Expeditions. The tour started in Maun and ended in Kasane. The main destinations of interests have been beside the famous Okavango Delta the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai and Mababwe. I discussed my plans with the tour operator and got some great advices so I was able to modify and adjust my travel plannings. Finally I got a great safari trip. The safari itself was well organized and the camping equipment was also very acceptable. I had beside an excellent driver who managed almost everything and gave well founded explanations to the wildlife also a perfect chef with me who prepared all the meals and food who have been very tasty. Although I am quite experienced in safaris in different African countries it was my first time I really did a camping safari and it was really one of the best safaris I ever did. To be so very closed in the wilderness is something amazing and unforgettable. I had a great safari with Moonstroll Vantage Expeditions and its staff.

outstanding personal service that put all of us at ease
5/5

On July 2017 i and a couple of friends just wanted to experience what a safari is like during the public holidays. Since this was going to be our first safari my friends who have opted to join me in Maun asked at the lodge where they were staying if they could recommend someone who could take us on a 1 night safari. The lady at the reception contacted Moonstroll on our behalf and within a few minutes Namz from Moonstroll came to see us. We asked a few questions and Namz answered all of these honestly and also assured us that as long as we followed exactly what the guide says in relation to safety measures, everything should be fine. We finally reached an agreement on the amount that each one of us should pay for a fully serviced 1 night trip. Our guide was well organized and exuded a wealth of knowledge. He was also the friendliest person who was willing to accommodate all of our interests. The chef, oh my god! , produced some amazing dishes during our stay in Khwai. Interestingly these dishes were prepared on an open fire. All in all everyone in our short-lived trip was quite amazing and we thank all of them for giving us this unique opportunity to experience the other side of Africa that we in Africa normally take for granted.

7 days mobile safari from Kasane to Maun (Botswana)
5/5

All was perfect. We, a couple on honeymoon, were on a mobile safari with a staff of 3 people : a guide, a camp assist (actually the boss of the agency) and a cooking chief.
Very efficient communication before the safari, to elaborate a customized program with all our wishes.
The expedition was a succession of great moments, full of game drives, boat cruises, game walks, mokoro trips and discussions around the fire (the African television).
Monametsi and his collegues were very nice and professional, always doing their best to make us live a real experience.
Camping in the bush among wildlife was amazing, though we always felt safe in the hands of the staff.
The meals were also really good. Experiencing a Stroganoff beef cooked with a bush fire is something!
Unforgettable! We wish you all the best!

Great 7 day safari in Botswana
4/5

We did the 7-Day Moremi & Chobe Wilderness Trail 2 Pax. I can definitely recommend this tour. A mobile safari is a unique experience, and we enjoyed it a lot.

Our team (guide Teenage and chef GeBe) was fantastic. Monametsi, the facilitator of the company, worked very hard to solve the issues that came up at the beginning of the tour.

Superb experience all the way through
5/5

Moonstroll

We had a very positive experience with Moonstroll. Professional all the way through including communication, planning, guidance during drives and making us feel snug in the camp. We did the 6 night, 7 day trip from Maun through moremi, savuti and chobe by Kasane.

Monametsi is a really good guy and you get the feeling that he will be able to plan almost any safari experience in Botswana. He has a great network within the safari community and knows the best subcontractors to use.

We were greeted in the airport upon arrival the day before we began the safari by Monametsi and were treated to a very nice room in Maun to get ready for 6 days sleeping in a tent through moremi, savuti and chobe by Kasane.

The team consisted of O.K, the guide (owner of Heritage Conservation Safaris), Russel, the cook and Taj, the assistant. We could not have asked for better. The food was great, the equipment was obviously tried and tested because we were held dry through multiple heavy showers and O.K. Was a super guide.

A typical day would be getting up at 6:30, then have some breakfast before setting out on the first 3 hour game drive of the day. Getting back from that, you have a bit of time before lunch and then a siesta from 12 to 4 pm where the second 3 hour game drive begins. After that there is dinner at 7:30-8:00 pm and the bed time.

We went in the wet season of February and had some amazing sightings. Obviously all safaris are different and some animals are rare and shy, so take this as a confirmation that you’ll have amazing game viewing but not as a guarantee that you will see what we did: feeding wild dog, 3 separate leopard sightings, mating lions, 20 grazing hippo during daytime, a huge herd of buffalo, swimming elephants, etc etc. Amazing!

Many of the sightings, including 2 out 3 leopards, were 100% due to our guide tracking the animals, talking to other guides. O.K. Was great. He also managed to steer us past a threatening bull elephant in the middle of the road which he handled with overwhelming calm.

Moremi, savuti and chobe by Kasane all three offer something unique and amazing. The experience is very much dependent on season. We went in February during the wet season where the delta is at its lowest and vegetation at its thickest meaning that it is harder to spot wild life through the leaves and that it doesn’t gather at water holes. Even so, we felt like all three places offered fantastic displays of nature.

All in all we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we fully recommend moonstroll to anybody up for a fantastic safari experience. It also feels good to be supporting local guides and operators instead of the bigger lodges owned by foreigners.

The trip was great - lots to see and do and all professionally handled
5/5

From the start, Monametsi of Moonstroll Vantage Expeditions was prompt and informative with his email replies. If I didn't get an immediate reply it was because he was out checking on a tour and that was comforting to know he was so attentive. We chose a combined mokoro/driving tour. Our mokoro guide, DP, and his fellow polers were helpful and informative. I hadn't done a walking safari before but after learning the safety tips we felt comfortable and it was exciting to see animals from a different perspective. Hearing an elephant shake a palm tree for the nuts is quite a sound! Our second guide, Keone, was equally helpful and informative, with both DP and Keone knowing so much about the animals and birds. Keone was attentive to our interests throughout the 3 days and we had the time to sit and watch animal movements, such as a leopard or a lilac breasted roller, instead of taking a quick photo and having to move on. The accommodations were comfortable and as we expected. The food, prepared by Gothata, was always tasty and plentiful and we had a nice combination of familiar and traditional foods. Camp Assistant G was efficient and friendly as well. Our flight out of Maun on the final day was suddenly moved up by 2.5 hours but Keone handled that without stress. Lovely trip!

Not a bad option if he is paying a guide and others satisfactory salaries. At least I would repeat!
5/5

Four of us went on an 8-day tour with 4 people to 4 people, for a total of 8 people (the number of people supporting you has to do with the amount of tips you pay). (The number of support people has to do with the amount of tips paid. Also, the psychological hurdle of sending SWIFT money to a tour company for the first time may be high. The excitement of the tour depends on the skill of the guide and the food depends on the seasoning of the cook, and we were very fortunate with our guide and cook. We were very lucky with our guide and cook, and of course with the tour company. It gets cold at night, so a warm jacket and warm pants are a must. I would also recommend having a large battery and a battery operated battery for emergencies.

A truly wonderful and memorable experience.
5/5

I joined my sister's and a friend's family for a 10 day camping safari across Botswana with Moonstroll safaris, and it was a truly fabulous experience. My sister did most of the organising so I can't comment too much on that aspect but they were fantastically helpful to me. I foolishly left myself a very tight transfer time in Johannesburg and missed my flight to Kasane to start the trip. Monametsi and his team went out of their way to help me catch up and join the trip a day late (after I had to take a circuitous route through Victoria Falls). They even rearranged the river cruise for me on the next day to make sure I didn't miss out.

The camping trip itself was great, with comfortable camp beds and tents and really great food, courtesy of Otata. It was quite amazing what Otata could cook up on a camp fire, including a birthday cake for my niece! All the people supporting the trip were warm and friendly, making everyone feel relaxed.

I really enjoyed being immersed within the African bush, with the sounds and smells of the animals all around you adding a certain frisson to getting up in the night for the toilet.

The game viewing itself was truly spectacular. I have been lucky enough to go on many safaris/game drives in my life and this was without doubt one of the best. My first view of wild dog as they set out for a hunting trip was a particular highlight for me. Both our guides were extremely knowledgeable, not just about the larger animals but about all of the local flora and fauna, and their love for their surroundings was evident. Ben in particular was outstanding, knowing exactly how and when to impart information and when to allow us to just sit and enjoy the sights around us. He is the best guide I have ever experienced - friendly, well organised and enthusiastic but also a calm and restful presence.

I wondered before the trip whether I would find 10 days too much, but I would quite happily have stayed for twice as long. Overall, a great experience with memories that I will treasure.
