If I could only give MBONI SIX STARS!
Leave zero doubt about how well you are going to be treated by MBONI. My buddy and I just did the Kili hike via Rongai and a four day safari. From the moment we started planning with them, the time we landed to the time we left, there was no detail missing and they were so meticulous, courteous and totally professional every step of the way. Your journey starts during the planning phase and we opted for tall tents, showers, private toilets, bed cots and for Jackson the owner....NO PROBLEM (a few other agencies said no way these can be done)! He was with us all the way in person and in whatsapp and it was almost like he never slept to ensure you had a fantastic trip. Not only did he pick us up, we had meals together, he drove us personally to Arusha from Moshi and then to the airport and was with us all the way. He even brought us personal medical attention for COVID tests. I also want to give a shout out to his team of Frank, Frank2, Atibu, Kent, John, Chila, Peter, Abuu, Tony, Jackson, Godbless, Issa, Ally, Juma, Gamaya, Shedrak, Bonfasi who were the best dream team to take us up the summit / safari. I cant say enough of these guys and my heart was left with them when we said our goodbyes. Its not about just the efficiency of the service, its also foremost about people....and leaving with a great feeling that you made not only friends but brothers too....GO MBONI!!!!

Great time, unforgatable experience
Kilimanjaro plus safari
Very good preperation of whole trip, very good conntact with office. Everything on time. Spacial thanks to our tour quide on kilimanjaro Elly, he made great atmosphere (of course with his two right hands Tomi and Jonhsonn, and the rest of his team - we will remember this to the end of live). We was spend one of the best time in our live. I would like to recommended this trip agency to everyone.

Incredible
Overall: would really recommend this company to anyone considering climbing Kilimanjaro. Myself and my companion were looked after from start to finish, the team prioritised our welfare throughout and were so kind and friendly. We felt safe and had an incredible experience, all thanks to the team at Mboni. When compared to other companies we met along the hike, Mboni was stand out in terms of quality and services provided...Incoming longer breakdown:
THE ORGANISATION
It was really easy to organise the trip with Mboni and the itinerary was custom made for our needs. We were given it well in advance. We had a driver (frank) pick us up from the airport and take us to our accommodation, he was friendly and took us on our day trip prior to climbing Kilimanjaro. We felt our welfare was being looked after and everything ran according to the itinerary.
THE GUIDES
Our guides, Khateeb and Amos made us feel comfortable and reassured from the start. They would outline the plan for each day the night prior and were very attentive when we had mild altitude sickness. Their pace was immaculate for getting us through each day. They would constantly look out for our welfare, making sure we were drinking enough, that we felt well and were enjoying ourselves!! They are both wonderful humans, full of smiles and energy and it made such a difference to our trip.
THE TEAM
We had a team of 10: 7 porters, a chef and our guides. The team were great, all friendly, all kind and all obviously really enjoying their job. All of them were always smiling which really helped morale. Faraje was particularly helpful, daily helping us with getting water and making sure we were comfortable. We got daily water for washing which was a luxurious treat which people with other companies did not get. We were amazed by Ali and Thomas' singing and by Mohammed's and Peters dancing!! Benji always had a smile on his face, Suey-Bo too even when carrying over 20kg!!
THE FOOD
The food was great throughout. Cooked by chef Peter. We had warm food for every meal which we were grateful for on the mountain. The food was very varied and delicious. Even when we lost our appetite due to altitude sickness, Peter came to see us and ask if there was something specific we could eat. Very kind and thoughtful. For longer days, small snacks and juice drinks were provided to us.
THE EQUIPMENT
We decided to hire walking poles and sleeping bags. They were both of great quality. The sleeping bags were clean and kept us warm throughout the night. The tent was clean and very spacious, compared to other companies tents ours was one of the best. We had a table with chairs and condiments for eating on - a luxury we did not expect but we're very grateful for.

Organized and have the experience for a great adventure
It was very easy to book and the response is immediate and satisfying. Jackson was very accommodating and quick. We booked a 5-day safari and added an extra tour of Arusha national park last min. Our guide, Frank Magoma, was extremely knowledgeable, patient and funny. We had such a great time with Jim during 6 days and we learned a lot about the local culture, the fauna and wildlife. I couldn't recommend anyone better than him!
This is a Tanzanian-owned company and I would highly recommend booking with them and requesting Magoma to be your tour guide!

Kilimanjaro Trek and Safari
8 day Lemosho trek and 5 day safari - bookings and all questions managed by Jackson prior to arrival, was picked up by Frank who ended up being my driver a few times - the trek/climb was difficult but was made comfortable by the great team led by guide Atib and the fun porters. The equipment and food provided was excellent (tent was larger than other tour companies). The public toilets were a challenge (some companies offer private toilets). Glad I got to the top and for all the help on the way !
Safari was epic - Serengeti, Tarangire and the must-see Ngorongoro Crater. I stayed in the lodging (recommended upgrade from camping options), much more luxurious and comfortable. The majority of the time you drive round in a Toyota Landcruiser looking for animals with plenty to see. Big thanks to the Mboni team for the welcome and support - trip of a lifetime !

Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Trek with Experts
I recently completed the 6 days Machame Route with Mboni, and it was an experience I will never forget. This was my first time on Kilimanjaro, and every moment from the gate to the summit felt like a “wow” moment. The guides were knowledgeable, patient, and always ready to answer any question, making us feel confident and excited throughout the trek.
The organization by Mboni was outstanding. Everything ran on time, and the team was always there whenever any challenge came up. The tents were comfortable, and even with the cold nights, we could request hot water for warmth during the night, a small gesture that made a huge difference.
The entire team’s support was beyond expectations. Whenever someone felt tired, they would offer to help with carrying daypacks and encourage us with warm smiles and kind words, making the climb feel possible even on the toughest days.
What stood out the most was the teamwork within Mboni. They truly care about each climber’s experience and safety, and their energy and commitment made the journey smooth and unforgettable. Great Safari
Our safari was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish everything was smooth and well organized, but what truly made the trip special was our guide. He was knowledgeable about the animals and the environment, and his ability to spot wildlife from a distance was amazing. Thanks to him, we got to see the “Big Five” and so much more.
Beyond his expertise, he was also kind, patient, and fun to be around. He always made sure we were comfortable.
We felt safe, cared for, and inspired throughout the entire trip. If you are considering a safari, I recommend this company. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

I did the Kilimanjaro route from Mt. Zama in 7 days. The conduct of the guides and the entire team was simply exceptional.
I really enjoyed the change of scenery during the trek and the way we got up early allowed us to rest more for the rest of the day when we reached the overnight camp.

We did the 8 day Lemosho Route with Mboni as a couple. We had an amazing team of guides, a cook and 8 incredible porters who took all our equipment and often helped us carry our bags when they saw we were tired. The entire team did everything to make us happy throughout the whole trek and were so friendly and sweet. The food was amazing (thanks to Nixon the chef), the team had a portable toilet that was changed and cleaned several times a day, the experience was so much better than anticipated when imagining the conditions of a trek like this. The team even saw that one of us was a little sick, and they made us ginger and lemon tea from then on until we were better. When it rained they made sure every part of our tent was secure and no water could come in by digging around it and making sure we were warm and dry. We especially want to point out Charles, who was so charming and had an amazing optimistic and friendly personality, came to our tent in the evenings and mornings to provide absolutely anything we needed, including our food, hot drinks, hot water for washing ourselves and filling our drinking water and heat pads. He was a delight and we recommend him as a porter and waiter, along with all the other porters- Boniphace, Tumaini, Bashiri, Erick, Frederick, Ayoub and Freddy.
Our guides Chami and Abu Baker were so professional, caring and did everything to make sure we got to the top of the mountain, and they were genuinely proud of us when we reached the summit. They even checked our oxygen every morning and night and made sure we were feeling OK and healthy at all times. Both of them were so nice to work with and we are very happy we had them as our guides.
The Mboni staff was extremely caring and helpful from the minute we started the process until after we had left Moshi. Jackson and Maryam cared for everything, including our hotel stays the night before and after the trek, helped us even after the trek was over and really went out of their way to make sure we had a positive experience.
All in all we definitely recommend Mboni tours and the amazing team.
