Amazing experience from start to finish
5/5

We joined a 9-day Uganda trip organized by Rogers, he was also our driver and tour guide.

As a tour operator he has been extremely responsive, attentive and providing great ideas / recommendations in customizing our itinerary.

As a driver, he is a very careful and safe driver and we felt we were in good hands driving in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in narrow muddy road fills with holes under the heavy rain, and many other under developed roads within the country.

As a tour guide he possesses vast knowledge of his country’s history, cities, wildlife and that has made our trip extremely fruitful and memorable. He has gone all the way to ensure we get the best experience (he drove tirelessly for 2 hours in QENP looking for tree climbing lions) and is flexible at the same time (we detoured to Mabamba for the incredible shoebill watching).

He became a friend after 9 days.

We were very grateful to have Rogers organized this trip for us. This company, although started small and still at its growth stage, has lots of potential and we wish Rogers and his company the very best in bringing this great country and its unique aspects to the world.

Excellent 13 Days Rwanda, Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari private tour
5/5

Me and my partner Lukas have enjoyed a 13 Days Rwanda, Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari private tour with Adventures to Gorilla Africa. We have enjoyed every single day and had an excellent experience with Adventures to Gorilla. Rogers Muhumuza has been our contact person for the original planning of the tour and also was he our driver and guide. He picked us up at Kigali Airport and drove us to the first hotel. The next morning we started our tour with him. Rogers is outstanding in everything. He was a safe driver, always on time, very attentive, very knowledgeable about the countries and its wildlife and culture. He was very friendly and was always going the extra mile for us. We asked many questions and we enjoyed conversation with Rogers and to learn about the culture. His 4WD safari vehicle was very comfortable and clean all the time and we never had a single issue with the car. All the accommodation suggested was great with good food and service and we would not have found these lodges ourselves. We were very much excited to track the Grorillas at Volcanos Park in Rwanda as well as in Bwindi Forest. It was an unforgettable experience. We also loved seeing Chimpanzees in Kibale forest. For the Safari part of our trip we went to Queen Elisabeth National Park where we saw Elelephants at the water, hippos, lots of birds, buffalos and many other animals from a fantastic boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. Another highlight were our game drives of the Savannah at Murchison Falls National Park Uganda. We saw herds of Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes. And we were lucky to see a lion on the tree. Roger took the extra mile and showed it to us from close distance. To summarise our experience was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend everyone to travel with Adventures to Gorilla Africa.

Amazing experience trekking Gorillas, Chimps and Rhinos, with a top class private guide.
5/5

From my initial contact with this company the service was excellent. Our guide Rogers was very professional and knowledgeable he catered to our every need prior to, and throughout the holiday, always going that extra mile to ensure we saw everything we had come to see (we did, and much more!). We highly recommend his company and can validate his expertise, our experience was amazing, great personal service and much better value than the larger Tour Operators.

Trustworthy, Knowledgeable Private Operator
5/5

If you're looking to see Gorillas, Chimpanzees and the infamous Shoebill Stork you should look no further than Adventures to Gorilla Africa in our mind. The Owner of the business is from Western Uganda and has worked his way up from the ground up, tracker, guide etc. to his own business and it shows. He and his Team know where the Primates are and where their Clients should be in order to view them. Rogers runs a small but tight ship and is completely trustworthy, very informed and excellent at responding to any and all communications. His recommendations to us were excellent in all facets, sightings, lodges, areas, driving / vehicle condition and comfort. Having not done a Safari in Uganda such as this before, it is hard to say the Value for Money equation. However in my opinion it was reasonable compared to other Countries in Africa. We had a wonderful experience with this group and we think you will to. Enjoy.

reliable company, flawless execution of itinerary
5/5

I had first contacted the company prior to the pandemic, and then again early in 2023. We agreed on an itinerary that included Kibale, QENP, Bwindi, and Mgahinga, with pickup where we were to stay in Entebbe and dropoff at Kigali airport. Taking a deep breath, I transferred the entire cost at once, as transfer fees were high. Communication for confirmation and an itinerary change made necessary by the availability of gorilla permits routinely took place via WhatsApp, with fast responses. Our itinerary had to change a little more after arrival, as our luggage failed to arrive on the flight with us. The luggage arrived after 36 hours, and the company delivered it to us in western Uganda since Ethiopian Airlines delivers no further than Kampala. Everything thereafter proceeded fully as planned, except the lions were too lazy to climb trees in Ishasha that day. Travel was always safe and always relaxed, with plenty of time to enjoy the views from the lodges or just to kick back and decompress. I highly recommend the company - rest assured your money in Uganda will be spent in supporting conservation efforts, local communities, while you will also be taking in the culture, the scenery, and the wildlife you encounter. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Amazing trip, well planned, terrific guide.
5/5

Before booking our family trip to Uganda we undertook some research into various tour operators. Adventures to Gorilla Africa came up on a search and the reviews were positive so we sent them an itinerary request.

Rogers got back to us with a detailed itinerary and was happy to make any changes we needed, price was very competitive and we locked in our trip. Communication was excellent and they also assisted with last minute changes before we arrived due to airline flight schedule changes.

On arrival Rogers was there on schedule and we begun our whirlwind 6 day tour of Uganda (more of an 8-9 day trip but we were short on time). The car was comfortable and our lodges were excellent, we wish we had more time at them! We visited Bwindi for a Gorilla Trek and Cultural Tour, then Queen Elizabeth NP, Murchison Falls NP and a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary before our return to Entebbe. Rogers had excellent knowledge of the parks, the animals, driving on some VERY challenging ‘roads’ and went above and beyond to tick all the boxes for us in terms of what we wanted to see. We learnt a lot about the country and he accommodated any request we had.

Some tips for those planning a trip - make sure you do the river cruises (they were excellent) and ..

If we return one day we will be sure to contact Adventures to Gorilla Africa again, and thank them again for a wonderful holiday to Uganda!

Rogers goes above and beyond your expectations to make your trip amazing - thank you
5/5

I looked at various companies with travelling solo I wanted the reassurance that everything would go smoothly. I contacted a few companies for quotes and what was included. Rogers replied immediately with an itinerary and price, he even changed the itinerary twice to suit my needs and requirements. His quote was good value for money for what it included and he explained I wouldn't be sharing the safari truck with anyone else, so my personal tour guide and driver.
I messaged about visas, vaccinations, local schools, what to wear..... each time Rogers replied straight away, even at 1am in the morning when I messaged after work, which I was astonished at.
On arrival Rogers met me on time and we were straight on the road to get my currency in Entebbe town. Rogers negotiated a slightly higher rate, comparing 3 companies.
We stopped off at the garage to get fuel and plenty of water and drinks for the journey. Throughout the 5 days Rogers chatted away, I asked his background and experience over the years. He really knows his stuff and the areas so well, and has worked hard to get where he is now.
I requested to get sweets for the children as we went along, giving them out as they walked the miles to school. Rogers assisted with this, and guided me to which children, so rewarding to do this, the excitement on their faces.
Our first stop was the chimpanzee trek, this was unbelievable how we found a group, then trekked with the group of chimpanzees getting loads of photos and videos. Rogers had organised with my lodge from the previous evening to return early afternoon for a shower and change at no extra cost (Lake Nkuruba lodge). We even sat watching the many monkeys while eating the locally sourced pineapple Roger had got.
Next was the safari at Queen Elizabeth national park. We arrived at 6pm, and were scheduled to go on it next morning, Rogers said the pass was 24hrs, so if I wasn't too tired from travelling we could do an evening safari now. Thank god I agreed, straight away we saw an old elephant so close, then a leopard which Roger spotted, he has great eye sight as I would have missed it. The leopard was amazing to watch, walking through the grasses. We then had a young lion walk right by our truck as we pulled up. Breath taking. We saw more elephants and antelope. Well worth the evening safari. I stayed at Enshama Lodge that night, highly recommend as massive elegant rooms, value for money, full board, views of hippos and elephants on a morning, I was even awoken by the roar of a lion. Our safari drive next day was again spot on, seeing sleeping lionesses in the trees, then watching them climb down with their 2 cubs, truly spectacular to watch. Rogers moving the vehicle constantly to get the perfect view from the open top. Viewing more elephants and baboons, beautiful butterflies in one part too.
Next was very emotional, I bought over a case full of children's clothes, caps, backpacks, shoes, exercise books, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, etc... advised by Rogers what was most needed. We went to an orphanage association and met a lovely group of children. They were so pleased to get a small lolly each, they sang and danced for me in appreciation, I was in tears how grateful they were. Rogers then got the case out, their faces lit up. I will never forget this. If you get chance with having 2 cases permitted on your flight please do it, you won't regret it. I have chosen to sponsor one of the children to get a better education, every little bit helps.
Next onto the gorilla trek, words cannot describe this, Rogers had highly recommended a porter for my backpack and assist me up the hills. This was very much appreciated as you have to take your lunch and 4 small bottles of water plus your camera etc... and it's locals, so supporting the local community. We were extremely lucky and our first sighting was just a 20min trek. Within minutes the silverback had brushed past me, leaving me breathless, I never expected to get so close. The guide assisting me with photos and even took my mobile to take more shots while I used my camera. With being a solo traveller this was a major plus for me. Watching the gorillas was absolutely breath taking. I love looking back at the many videos and photos I took.
During the trip Rogers would buy us fruit and food from the local stalls, it was hilarious watching him barter for the best quality and price. Rogers makes you feel totally at ease so you can enjoy the trip to its full. I would highly recommend this company and especially Rogers to be your guide and driver. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him to organise. Thank you for an amazing trip of a lifetime. Happily answer any questions anyone has to assist. I hope to return in a few years for another trip with Rogers.
