We truly enjoyed our private safari in Kenya and Uganda with Kubwa Five Safari. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations.
Our drivers and guides, Erik in Kenya and Mustafa in Uganda, went above and beyond to show us as many animals as possible. Both were proactive, knowledgeable, and incredibly warm, which made us feel safe, comfortable, and welcome at all times.
The trip itself did not disappoint. Communication with the company via WhatsApp was excellent—quick, clear, and reassuring—so we always felt well taken care of throughout the journey.
The itinerary was perfectly balanced, combining incredible wildlife, stunning landscapes, and meaningful interactions with local communities. The absolute highlights were trekking with the chimpanzees and gorillas—an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

My safari with Kubwa 5 Safaris was the highlight of my month in Uganda. My guide, Mustafah, made the entire trip unforgettable—patient, funny, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept me safe and created the most relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Murchison Falls was stunning, Pakuba Lodge was peaceful and full of wildlife, and at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary he handed me off to a trusted ranger for an amazing rhino-tracking walk.
If you’re planning on safari, request Mustafah and Kubwa 5. Truly exceptional.

Kubwa Five Safaris gave us an amazing, worry-free safari experience we’ll remember forever.
We had an incredible experience with Kubwa Five Safaris from start to finish. Our multi-country itinerary through Kenya and Uganda was complex, yet everything ran smoothly thanks to their excellent planning, attention to detail, and responsive communication throughout the trip.
The accommodations were eco-friendly but comfortable, the food consistently delicious, and our guides knowledgeable and personable. We especially appreciated how easily we could reach the Kubwa Five team on WhatsApp and their quick responses made the entire experience feel safe and well-supported.
There were a few small bumps along the way, as can happen on a long safari, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. The only real suggestion we’d make to future travelers would be to skip the Maasai “cultural event” stop, which felt more like a tourist cash grab than an authentic experience. In contrast, the Ugandan cultural visits, were absolutely wonderful, heartfelt, and meaningful.
Overall, Kubwa Five Safaris offered fantastic value, excellent organization, and warm personal service. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a safari in East Africa.

An unforgetable experience
We booked a 17days Safari through Uganda and Rwanda with Kubwa Five Safaris and it was absolutely amazing. The planning of the tour was perfect, we could decide between diverse activities and the communication with the team was very easy, intermediate and on point.
Our guide Samuel was the best guide you can imagine. He was very flexible, took care of us very well and showed us the best spots to watch animals. We learned so much about birds, mammels, primates, reptiles etc. Also he was a very skilled driver and we felt save all the time.
Beside the beautiful National Parks, we also visited several communities and spent a great time with local people and got a lot of authentic insides.
It was definitly one the best journeys we‘ve ever had. We fell in love with this countries and made new friends.
It was mindblowing and we‘re sure we‘ll come back.

Our safari was booked very last minute. Despite traveling during the high season, Kubwa Five found us amazing lodgings and hugely experienced guides. The experience was a trip of a lifetime. As first time travelers to Africa, it would have been impossible to put together such a fantastic trip on our own. We very highly recommend them.
Professional trustworthy Uganda owned company operating in multiple African countries.
We decided on the 19 day Kubwa Five safari of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania in July 2025 because of their great reviews, they operate in multiple countries, and are a Uganda owned company. A guide from another tour company advised you pay more using a travel agent. I’ve been to Southern Africa and Tsavo west in Kenya before, but this was by far my best trip. In Uganda we met the friendliest people with smiles on their faces. I’m 70, so comfort was important and we chose the top end hotel option. Most were very good, some better than others. I found Wise the best low cost way to transfer payment.
Highlights of Uganda included Murchison Falls, Chimpanzees in Kibale, Gorillas in the Bwindi impenetrable forest. The Batwa cultural tour and orphanage visit moved us. Our Uganda guide, Mustafa has been driving for 8 years which is important as some of the roads can be bumpy with no signs. Mustafa was outstanding, going out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our trip. He found tree climbing lions in Murchison Falls and shoebill storks on the last day driving back to Entebbe.
In Kenya we saw an abundance of wildlife on the boat ride at Lake Naivasha staying at one of the best hotels, SOPA. The balloon ride in Maasai Mara was another memorable experience. We were apprehensive at first. Once floating gently above, we saw herds of wildebeest and zebra, along with lions with their kill. The cultural visit to the Maasai Mara was disappointing as they asked for money for everything although we got a taste as to how they live. I bought a lot of souvenirs to be shipped to Australia and could have used some advice on how to bargain.
It was a long bumpy ride from Kenya to Tanzania where we got a new driver. We tried twice unsuccessfully to see the wildebeest crossing the Mara river at the Maasai Mara and northern Serengeti. I convinced my wife to go on the early morning drive in the northern Serengeti where there are fewer safari vehicles. We were rewarded with an incredible experience, herds of Wildabeest crossing the crocodile infested Mara river. Our driver got us in a great position for taking photos.
Not once did we feel in danger from animals or people. We hardly had any insect bites, perhaps because it was the dry season. We were put in the group of gorillas not requiring a long hike and it only took 5 minutes to spot them. If you love nature, wildlife, and meeting people of different cultures and have an adventurous spirit, Kubwa Five is for you.
