Outstanding
Ben is an absolutely outstanding guide. He is experienced, knows everyone, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. He constantly went above and beyond, and truly cared about our experience. We feel so fortunate to have ended up booking with Ben. I can’t recommend him and his services enough!!

An unforgettable Ugandan adventure with Ben!
From beginning to end our trip to Uganda organised by Homestead Tours was spectacular. We went for our honeymoon and it really was a trip of a lifetime. Our guide, Ben, did everything he could to ensure our holiday was comfortable, fun and memorable. Nothing we asked was too much for him. Ben has amazing knowledge of Ugandan wildlife, geography, history, conservation- the list is endless! When you travel with Ben it is the same as having an expert with you! Our highlight has to be gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park. Ben recommend Mgahinga as he knew that one of our priorities was to capture the experience with photographs of the gorillas and here the visibility is great as the undergrowth is not so dense. We spent an hour with the gorillas watching them unobstructed and in awe! We wouldn’t change a thing about our trip except that it would be longer!

A fantastic week in Africa
I went with a different company but with Ben as guide and driver. I went on my own and had an exellent time, I felt really safe and well taken care of. Great accommodation and treatment everywhere we went. Ben is an experienced wildlife guide and has a great knowledge that he willingly shared, not just about the wildlife in Uganda but, also about traditions and culture. Ben took me and another woman around Uganda for a week in a van, we got to see lions, hippos, monkeys, buffalos, chimps, elephants among others, not to mention all the birds. The high light for me was the gorillas in Bwindi NP. I can highly recommend Ben as a tour guide.

Homestead Tours and our fabulous guide, Ben, made this one of the best adventures I’ve ever had!
I highly recommend Homestead Tours and our wonderful guide, Ben! My sister and I had the most incredible tour that Ben put together based on what we wanted to do and our budget. He managed to pack in everything we wanted and much much more and we had some lovely accommodation, all of which served fantastic food!
I have done much travelling over the years but this goes down as one of the best trips I’ve ever done! Seeing the chimps and gorillas have to be two of my absolute highlights!! Our transport was extremely comfortable with plenty of space and Ben made sure each day that we saw the most hidden of creatures ... including a lion that has just made a kill! As Ben had previously been a park ranger, his knowledge of the animals and surrounding area was outstanding.
We cannot thank you enough, Ben, for such fantastic memories and can’t wait to return ... very soon!!

Ben is the Best
Ben Ejadu of Homestead Safaris is a gem.
A background as a ranger gave him intimate knowledge of all the parks in Uganda (and beyond) and knowledge of the absolute best guides to connect you with; his passion as a guide shows through his careful planning and his willingness to meet the needs of his clients rather than getting his clients to follow his needs; and his love for Uganda is infectious. And I totally believe he knows nearly everyone in Uganda.... AND he’s a benefit to community members - he gives back a portion of his fees for projects like clean water so women and children don’t have to spend all day collecting water - and the girls can go to school.
I know I’m not alone in my opinion because I booked him based on a well-travelled friend’s experience.
Ben is able to work within your budget, I wanted midrange. (We’d done high-end Safari, loved it but felt very coddled and separated from reality.) We stayed at a former tea plantation where water was heated by logs, a community-benefiting hotel with views over the Rift Valley, a hotel on a lake with the most amazing bird life imaginable. (And Ben can identify them all.)
And I think we were the only people who had a guide that made arrangements with hotels for post gorilla/chimpanzee trekking showers!
We ate at the top restaurant in Queen Victoria Park and at neighborhood joints. I ate goat for the first time and loved it.
Sounds trite, but it all was very real. Yet clean and safe.
I was happy to let Ben do the planning, but if you have requirements like no steps or a constant WiFi stream, just let him know.
I know he’ll take good care of you.
