Our guide provided the most knowledgable amazing trip of a lifetime
Early Kingfisher Safaris delivered a fantastic experience Every day was even better than the previous one and the first day we saw elephants giving themselves mud baths, lions along the road, herds of Impala and a Cheetah and her 2 “teenage” cubs, all before we arrived at our first campsite. Our guide was so knowledgable and even with all the close observation of wildlife I always felt safe. The accommodation's were so comfortable and our chef prepared the most delicious meals. Our staff was so attentive. The safari tent had a carpet on the floor, comfortable beds, true glamping. My trip of a lifetime has turned into how can I come back for more with this wonderful company.

A truely authentic, emcompassing, pleasurable and inspiring safari experience!
I can't imagine a better way to see the wonders of the African wildlife and landscape than we had with Sam and his crew. Every detail was planned to enable the best viewing of the animals; a quiet, relaxing, comfortable camping experience; and beautifully prepared, delicious meals. The friendly staff went above and beyond in preparing the camp, pampering us and carefully catering to our individual tastes and needs. Sam's knowledge, expertise, competency and love for his chosen profession was so apparent. He is a natural at spotting and sensing the animals and finding obscure sites where we sat quietly, basking in the beauty of the animals playing, eating and interacting in their natural habitat. We wouldn't have changed any part of this incredible experience.

An overall awesome experience with the best guide in town
They say that the lion is the King of the Jungle, but I'm here to tell you that it's actually the owner of Early Kingfisher Safaris for the smooth operations that he runs. A guided safari makes all the difference, and it's well-worth the investment to use a local operator. During our safari, we saw a few people in self-guided tours who were left in the dust as they tried to pick up the scraps of the local guides like ours. Those self-guided tours didn't see a fraction of what we did! I'm grateful we got to experience Africa with the knowledgeable crew at Early Kingfisher Safaris.
To have a well-rounded and positive safari experience, guides need to be equal parts Driver, Tracker, and Host, and the Early Kingfisher crew provides all that. I swear our guide could smell animals in the air before he saw them, and he would point in the distance long before we had a chance to squint or have any idea of which new animal was on the horizon. We had many exciting game drives chasing (and successfully locating) all the animals that we wanted to see. You never know what to expect with Mother Nature, but we felt fortunate with many of our sightings and weather. The camp staff also went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable, warm, and well-fed with delicious meals. Accommodations were clean and well-maintained, providing that ideal balance of a true camping experience with a raw connection to the land while simultaneously being an enjoyable stay that could serve as a proper family vacation.
We had an overall great experience with Early Kingfisher safaris and would happily recommend them to anyone. We also appreciated that Early Kingfisher helped to coordinate our transportation needs and subsequent border crossing into Zimbabwe after the conclusion of our safari. Africa can feel like a different world, but Early Kingfisher felt like our new family. We felt welcome and cared for every step along the way.

Extremely knowledgeable with the Parks, with extensive understanding of animal tracking & behavior!
I didn't know what to expect going on an African Safari. Our guide from the start asked what animals we really wanted to see in order to make sure we would all go home happy seeing these specific animals. Turns out our guide was excellent and able to put us directly in sight of over 30 animals. We were all blown away with the diversity of animals and beautiful landscape on our African Safari. Having a private chef and service staff all to ourselves made the trip more relaxing knowing you wouldn't have to come back to camp and start making dinner but instead could relax and enjoy the African bush without any worries. The food was fantastic with fresh homemade camp fire cooked, multi-course meals you would find in a quality sit down restaurant! I would certainly recommend Early King Fisher Safari Tours over anyone else not only because of the staff and what I mentioned above but also our guide put us onto many animals before other Tour guides. In fact, our guide frequently radioed other guides to let them know where animals were in multiple occasions through out our Safari.

It doesn't really register, until you are in the bush, that you want to be with someone you have absolute confidence in. That adage of "safety first" was clearly embraced by Early Kingfisher Safaris for us. Beyond that, from booking through the completion of the adventure, every staff person was responsive to our needs, friendly, competent and great fun. The food was beyond anything we could have imagined. We were completely spoiled and we loved it! We chose this company because several different sets of friends couldn't stop talking about the wonderful Early Kingfisher Safari. In fact, all those of us who went, never had Africa on our list. It was the enthusiasm from friends who had traveled with Early Kingfisher that convinced us that this would be an experience of a lifetime. Our guide was magnificent at finding animals, positioning us to take the best photos, patient with our continuous questions, and had a clear respect for the animals, the land, the culture and the history of where we were. We left with a deep and lasting love for the country and all our new friends at Early Kingfisher Safaris. They are the best!!!

An opportunity of a lifetime and dream for my son. The guide had us up and out early before others would crowd sightings, tracked foot prints until the animal was located. He also preferred active animals so chases, playing, eating, drinking behaviors were seen. The camp staff went out of their way to please us. Food is cooked over an open fire. No one got sick!

Communication between Early Kingfisher from the outset was excellent. We were taken well care of by our guide & camp crew. The sightings we experienced were beyond our expectations. Early Kingfisher must be the best Mobile Safari company in Botswana, I can not imagine a better one.
If you are planning a trip to Botswana to see wildlife then Early Kingfisher Safari, a mobile camping safari run by Sam Mopalo, should be at the top of your list to contact. I have been on numerous previous trips to South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia and Zanzibar and nothing comes even close to my superb experiences with early King Fisher Safaris in Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe National Park and Central Kalahari Game Reserve. I've been with Sam's company on three trips in the last two years and I'm planning a fourth one soon. Sam, his wife, daughter and son are all involved in his company and between them they are able to accommodate almost any request, make significant changes, if needed, on the fly and they help in every way possible to make your trip a memory to last a life time. My trips with them have been among the best trips I’ve ever taken.
I’ve stayed at lodges in the past, but I’m so glad I stumbled on the option of booking a safari trip with a good local owned mobile safari operator. Sam provides an unbelievably experienced guide with first-hand knowledge of the park, good equipment and ready access to emergency response. Another plus is that he, as well as other mobile safari operators, registers with the national parks administration to gain special access to a very limited number of campsites scattered inside the park. With Sam’s Early Kingfisher mobile safari operation the tents are spacious with a floor and a walled off private camp toilet and bucket shower attached to the tent. There are actual beds to sleep on and excellent food. A support vehicle with a crew of two or three is part of the package and they come along to set up camp, prepare meals and since the camping takes place in remote areas their Land Cruiser serves as a backup vehicle in case of mechanical problems. The camp moves to a new site every two to three days and the support crew moves ahead of the game drives to have the campsite set up when you arrive….what more can you ask for! The advantages of mobile camping far outweigh the perceived comfort of a lodge. You are situated right in the middle of nature, away from lodge and self driving traffic and your game drives start when you leave your tent in the morning. On every trip I've taken with Sam the outcome far outweighed my expectation. If the animals are present Sam and company will track them down and you'll be rewarded like I've been with surprise after surprise.

The best you can find in Botswana !
The best safari we have ever experienced in Africa. Together with my friend we are very experienced travelers with more than 110 countries and have experienced all possible safaris in many African countries and therefore we can confidently say that the 9 day safari with Sam and his company Early kingfisher is the best that can be experienced in Africa!
We chose October as the peak of the dry season and what we had the opportunity to see in the Moremi reserve was amazing - thanks to the only remaining water there are an incredible number of animals around the water sources and Sam is a perfect tracker! He has an enormous 30 years of experience and yet he gets up every morning at 05:00 with an unquenchable desire to discover as many animals as possible that day and provide his clients with a perfect experience!
We admire his enthusiasm, always in a great mood, tremendous knowledge and ability to always find the rarest predators such as leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, hyenas and others.. In the few meetings with other guides - they are rare in that wonderful wilderness - he is highly respected by his colleagues and usually the first one to find the predators that day.
In the same way, his team provides perfect service in the background, everything works absolutely exactly literally for minutes every day, and what his cook can conjure up 5 times a day for meals, including daily freshly baked bread, sweet cakes, savory pies, etc. is literally unbelievable!
You have to prepare for getting up early every day at 05:00, because morning game drives are many times more successful than in the evening, when many animals are hiding.
The best experiences were provided by Moremi crowded with animals, dry Savuti in our term was 20% animals but offered an incredible number of lions in large packs! ..fine is Khwai.. only weaker was the final destination Kasane-Chobe, where suddenly there are too many tourists like in Kenya and Tanzania and after many days in Moremi, when we met 2-3 cars / day it suddenly became ordinary..
Again, we have to thank the perfect tracker Sam and his team many times for an experience that we know very well that we will not be able to surpass anywhere else in Africa - this was the absolute pinnacle of what is possible!

Fantastic safari tour in the Okavango Delta
We had five amazing days in the Moremi Game Reserve. Thanks to our experienced guide Sam, we had many opportunities to observe wild animals such as elephants, lions and leopards. He also took us to fantastic spots where we could enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Okavango Delta. During the game drives, we not only observed various animals, but also learned a lot about nature and animal behaviour. Furthermore, the team at the camp was excellent, so we felt comfortable at all times (the food was great!).
We are already looking forward to our next adventure with Early Kingfisher Safari!
