My Memorable Adventure by Africa Marvel Tours
I needed a random plan to unwind, get away, do something fun. After along search on the internet, I landed on a couple of recommendations and decided to try Africa Marvel to book a 2 days safari to Lake Nakuru. Wow! The travel agent by the name Perminus took up the task (such a humble personality by the way) and was very fast to respond to my mails with detailed clarity. I was very impressed at the reception already and was excited to get on with the booking. My stay at Lake Nakuru Sopa was perfect and the driver guide - Ken was so informative, needless to say, his eyes are a binoculars during game drives. It was my first game drive ever and looking forward to my next one. Not knowing much about animals, I got a lot to learn especially about their habitual trends in the jungle. I would definately recommend and awaiting my soon to travel booking with Africa Marvel Tours for my next safari.

Beyond expectations
Back from the African dream!
Doing a multiple country safari (Kenya & Tanzania), was the best choice we made, advised by Perminus!
Picked up by our guide Patrick, who welcomed us in Nairobi and of we went to the Masai Mara. Truly wonderful, having a guide who is able to give interesting facts about animals, plants & culture is really a bonus. As it was not my first time in the continent he didn’t disappoint at all. Facts about animal small and big, and able to answer my questions. This is exactly what you need whether it’s your first or second safari.
Sleeping inside the reserve gave us the real African Bush experience, what we were looking for. Able to plan the day as we want sometimes a full day safari or only morning and afternoon! To finish our wonderful stay in the mara, we were welcomed on a Sundowner Drink.
Ready for the Serengeti, as we were dropped off at the border our second guide Medi was already waiting for us, helping us to the border check and up to the Serengeti.
Being able to see the wildebeest migration was real blessing. Also this time the guide was able to give us some amazing sightings, understanding the animals, knowing what their next move will be, us waiting for a bit longer for example at a Cheetah sighting, as he said he will get up and come drink after he feasted on his kill. And yes he was right, perfectly positioned for photographic point of view we truly enjoyed this.
A tip from my travel point of view don’t rush with locations and lodges, but stay a bit longer in a place to feel and live the experience.
In a nutshell, really recommend Africa Marvel Tours in every aspect. Thanks

Africa Marvel provided a worry-free safari experience that was beyond our expectations!
Africa Marvel Tours was a pleasure to work with. Communication was always good. Any request for information was quickly answered by Perminus and Zunira. The website provides a lot of information, as well: suggested packing lists, FAQs, etc. We did have to ask for information, at times, pre-trip, but it was always provided promptly. During the course of our trip, Perminus met us in Nairobi to give us a preview. I had ongoing communication with Zunira before the trip by email, and during the trip, she checked in regularly by email and What's App.
The 12-day safari of Kenya and Tanzania was spectacular. Our guides were experienced and knew where to look so that we could see the best of what each park had to offer. Many other people complained of not seeing animals, or not up close. We saw up close elephants, giraffes, antelope, 1000s of wildebeest, monkeys, lion hunts, leopard kills, cheetahs, hippos, etc. Everyday was something new!
Our accommodations were varied and always comfortable. Food was always good, and the settings were varied from luxury resort settings to tented unfenced safari camp in the Serengeti. The staff were always polite and accommodating, "Hakuna Matata!" Our trip was moderately priced, as compared with other trips, but the level of service that we got from Africa Marvel and the staff at the accommodations was deluxe. It is a little scary to send money overseas to a company that you do not know, but Zunira made it so much easier to trust the experience. Once we arrived at the airport, everything worked like clockwork! Highly recommend!

Africa Marvel Tours, and Joe our guide, were everything we expected and hoped for.
We found Africa Marvel Tours easy to deal with right from the planning stage. They provided someone to help us sort out logistics for the few days before the Safari started (we had decided to arrive in Nairobi early, to acclimatize and be sure to not be delayed by potential flight delays.) Our guide, Joe, picked us up at the hotel on the first day of the Safari - everything went smoothly as planned. The accommodations at Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli were all wonderful choices - lovely accommodations and great food. (We loved the "tents".) Joe was attentive "just enough" and not overly, but always happy to discuss options and plans for the following day. He was a great driver and guide, treated the animals with respect, and was very pleasant to be with for the week. I would definitely ask for Joe as our guide were I to do this adventure again. He was knowledgable and paid attention to what the other drivers were reporting so we could take in as many sightings as possible. It was an epic experience! I highly recommend Africa Marvel Tours, and Joe specifically as a driver/guide.

Amazing safaris which exceeded our expectations!
We had an amazing time seeing so many of God’s uniquely created animals! Joe, our driver, was so informative and really made an effort to tailor our Safari experience. Joe always tried to position our 4x4 vehicle to get fantastic photos! We were blessed to see the Big 5, over a dozen lions, a clan of 14 hyenas and a troop of baboons with babies up close. I highly recommend upgrading to a 4x4 rather than a van especially in the Masai Mara. Perminus was very professional and timely in his responses when booking and planning the details of our trip. He and Joe even coordinated a last minute change to our itinerary which we thoroughly enjoyed.

A real african lifetime experience
At first it was a bit tricky for us booking with an overseas company (especially for my mom), but after some research we were sure this was the company. A perfect family safari and beach journey! Everything was perfectly organized, we had a really good contact with Premius! If we wanted to add something it was always possible and then made a good tour based on our desires! Top notch safari tour service
We had a great experience with Africa Marvel Tours. Our guide was knowledgeable, our accommodation (Kibo Safari Camp) was so warm and lovely, and everything was seamless. We felt in charge of our schedule and very safe throughout the period of our visit. Would highly recommend.

A good travel experience
From the pick-up at an individual address, to the travel guide and guide, to the accommodation and meals, everything worked out as desired.
We felt very well looked after by our driver, guide and tour guide. He seemed to be very experienced and had good contacts everywhere.
The vehicle was in good condition, so we could enjoy the 3 days without any problems.
The overnight stays were in good lodges according to the offer.
We were really satisfied and happy with this safari.

Disappointed by last minute changes and miscommunication
A wonderful safari was let down by a last minute accommodation change and miscommunication between the tour office and my guide.
I'll start with the positives. Communication with Perminus at Africa Marvel Tours was quick and easy. He was helpful with making itinerary suggestions. I was able to call via Whatsapp before I left NZ. He was quick to let me know that my guide was running late for my initial pick up - which I appreciated.
I loved my stay at Tsavo East Voi Safari Lodge - the view overlooking the plain below was MAGNIFICENT!!! I highly recommend staying there. I have never seen so many elephants before. They were everywhere!
Amboseli had incredible contrasts between the dry landscapes and marshes. Overall Amboseli seems more affected by the current drought than Tsavo East. But I have no idea what they were like before the drought, and I was still able to see many animals at both. There are lots of carcasses at Amboseli due to the drought.
My guide was mostly good. He was knowledgeable and professional and I felt very safe as a single woman.
My disappointment came when my accommodation outside Amboseli was changed the day of arrival. I was most disappointed as I was moved to accommodation that was more basic than I had expected. I communicated my disappointment to Perminus, who said his supervisor would be in touch with me. That never happened. This last minute downgrade of accommodation left a sour taste in my mouth.
The other disappointment was a miscommunication between the Tour office and my guide. My guide told me that I HAD to do a full day in the reserve as I would have had to pay for an additional entry fee, if we wanted to enter again. So I agreed, even though I would have preferred a morning and afternoon drive. Full day drives are tiring and less enjoyable. (At this point I had forgotten that my itinerary specified that I had a morning and afternoon game drive.)
At the end of that day, as we were confirming plans for the next day, my guide told me that we wouldn't be able to enter the park again on my last morning as we didn't have an entry. This time I remembered that my itinerary specified that I had a game drive that day, (and lunch in the park). I had to contact Perminus to get this cleared up and was able to have that final game drive. I wish I had done this the previous day.
Make sure that you get what is written in your itinerary!
I had my hot air balloon ride moved to another day, as the day it was scheduled was already booked. This was mildly frustrating, as I had booked this months in advance, but Tour Office only booked it a few days before. The one positive of this, was that I was able to see 5 cheetah the morning I would have been on the hot air balloon ride.
Going on a safari is a wonderful thing to do. Both Amboseli and Tsavo East are very different. The accommodation at Tsavo East, probably means I rate it more highly.
Unfortunately the accommodation downgrade, lack of follow up and miscommunications between the office and my guide, means that I would not book with Africa Marvel Tours again.

Thank you for entrusting us to do your safari to Amboseli and Tsavo. Glad to hear that you had a great safari and that you managed to see all the big 5. Great that you enjoyed your stay in Voi Safari lodge at Tsavo. Again accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment with the accommodation change in Amboseli and not getting back in time. This occurred due to the closure of the original camp booked which was a mid range type of accommodation and when you made the call to Perminus there was an agreement for a free upgrade to a luxury type of accommodation. However due to the changes happening close to safari start date we could not confirm the upgrade due to the luxury camp being fully booked. We had to look for an alternative which we got at another mid range type of accommodation which is the same level as the initial camp(closed camp).
Its great to hear that your guide was mostly good, knowledgeable and professional and that you felt safe as single a single woman traveler.
As for the game drives the options are either a morning and afternoon game viewing drives or alternatively a full day game viewing drives, this is always agreed between client and driver guides depending on how the previous day was, some clients prefer full day while other prefer morning and afternoon game drives. With either of the arrangement there should not be an issue of extra park fee, so we are going to look into this and work on the same.
For the balloon safari while doing the reservation there was no enough load(people) to fly on the original date of booking and we could only get the same the following day hence the move to the following day. Glad that you had a chance to see 5 cheetahs on the morning you should have been on the balloon safari.
