An Experience like no other.
5/5

What can I say about this? While trekking, you trudge through mud, climb up or down very challenging terrain, you sweat, you slip, you fall and then finally you come upon your destination point. Your first silverback and it's all is forgotten as you sit down and observe these magnificent creatures up close, with no barriers between you.
This is not for everybody, but if you are in reasonable shape and health and love nature, this is experiences you like no other and I highly recommend it. Also recommand this tour company and my guide Tomson.

A great way to see and connect with Uganda.
5/5

We chose Freka African Holidays because we wanted to use a local Ugandan company. Our safari was everything we had hoped for in terms of the extraordinary parks, the wildlife and the lodges. But what made the trip for us was our guide Ronald who was a genuine and enthusiastic local host. Everywhere we went, we met people who knew and liked him - hotel staff, rangers and other guides - and in each case his contacts added something new to our trip. Josephine in the office was clear and helpful as we planned our trip, communication was good and everything went precisely to plan. We will sure travel with Freka African Holidays again.

That’s an absolutely wonderful experience with Freka company and thumbs up to their accommodation. Uganda is a fantastic country with a wide diversity of nature, where you can have great opportunity to see different environment, landscape and amazing wildlife. The driver/guide from their side was professional to his work and also very friendly in nature with informative. The safari tour that we have been unbelievable and well organized. If you are vegetarian, then Food can be sometimes a little boring but in general its good.Marry

Sensational destination at Uganda-Lake Bunyonyi
5/5

In South Western Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi is one of the best few serene attractions as far as tranquillity and peacefulness goes. We found that they had some very nice affordable accommodation just at a short distance from the lodge, provided by our tour company Freka. We all especially loved the boat trip and would love to do it again and again. I daresay it is quite a long ride from Kampala though and it takes some couple of hours. I could not complain about anything. It’s all loved every thing there.

Beautiful,,, simply beautiful
5/5

I was just Absolutely blown away by this place and want to thank Freka African Holidays for this amazing opportunity.
I heard from someone many years ago, that when it was under British reign the king fell in love with the beauty of this area so much, and he bought it from the Rwandans and it became part of Uganda- if this is true, now I can bitterly understand why he did.
It’s Just breathtaking !!! Truly Uganda is “The pearl of Africa”

Great Gorilla tracking with Freka!
5/5

We had booked our gorilla tracking a few months in advance, so to secure the tracking permits as they have limited person entry at a time. We used to go with a good company Freka African Holidays. The company was professional from the beginning to end, as emailing us all the necessary information, while payment and lot of moments.

As we reach at meeting point, a driver came to pick us up from their side and it took about 2 hours to get to Bwindi. There was a traditional African dance performance and then we were briefed on what to expect. Before we go trekking, we split off into different small groups, each having a guide and 2 rangers. They came in handy as there are lots of thorny plants and stinging nettles.

At the beginning of the trek you can hire porters because they were a huge help not only with carrying your bag, but helping you to not fall in the jungle as well.
We began the trek with a steep incline before heading into the jungle. The trackers set out early in the morning so that you don't have to trek too long to find the gorillas. We spotted our first gorilla within an hour, sometimes it can take up to 6 hours or even 11 our guide told us... And sometimes you don't even get to see them and then to fulfil the desire, some of people use to arrange to get helicoptered which cost around 300usd.

It was such an amazing experience to see the gorillas up close! They are so adorable, as gorilla got quite so close to me twice and I was frightened but then our guide told me not to be afraid of them. All in all, it was a fantastic experience.
Afterwards we had a good lunch at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge, and having a perfect accommodation. I highly recommend this tour company !!!

Trip of a lifetime
5/5

Seeing the mountain gorillas in close proximity was an amazing experience at Bwindi. We were so happy to saw the family of gorillas at an easy task, within 30-40 minutes and we get the chance to track them eating breakfast on the move. They literally passed within a few feet of us. And having an amazing photo shoot with them. One word of caution: the terrain is very steep and thus you definitely need a decent level of fitness. I recommend to carry complete utility back packs that help you up at the hills!

An absolute place for any animal lover
5/5

We had planned a trip with Freka African Holidays and our entire trip was planned to include chimpanzee and gorilla trekking. If someone have to trek Mountain gorilla, then must go to Congo, Rwanda and in Bwindi impenetrable forest.
, and we decide for Bwindi. The expedition is incredibly well planned by the tour company, allowing groups of up to eight people to see these extraordinary animals in their natural habitat, and getting as close as five meters from them. Viewing is virtually guaranteed as only gorillas which are used to contact with humans can be approached.
The troops are sent very early in the morning, so that by 7am, as they already know where the families can be found and though we found a group of 12. An absolutely unforgettable experience!!

Wildlife Viewing at Queen Elizabeth National Park
5/5

During our 5 days trip we got chance to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park. Wildlife here is kind of good but not as such in Kenya, Tanzania, or Botswana. That is why we said strongly to recommend visiting and supporting Ugandan wildlife and conservation efforts made by authorities. Actually this Park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, which while hard to locate would be a very rewarding game-viewing experience.

This Park is so much broad that it is splits into two areas, one as the northern section (Kasenyi) and other one the southern section (Ishasha). We found some lions in Kasenyi and were very lucky to find a leopard in Ishasha. It is apparently more common to find lions in the trees in Ishasha but they do also climb up into the cactus candelabras in Kasenyi.

QENP is surrounded by and even home to many human settlements and At the end of the day we meet to some life population. With the support of tourists and Ugandan Wildlife Authority and the Ugandan government, this place will defiantly have a bright future of diversity ahead.

This Lake is Seriously Stunning!
5/5

Lake Bunyonyi is seriously stunning, I can truly say!!. From the beautiful green hills to the countless pristine fingers of the lake, this is a place that one could sit and gaze at the beauty for ages.
Though activities at the lake are limited, there are a few worth mentioning:
For the casual or avid birder, get your binoculars ready. You are likely to find one for your life list.
The boat ride is well worth the money, that is arranged from the side of Freka African Holidays. The ride takes you out to places such as animal island where you will see Zebra and Impala.
Stop at Bunyonyi Safaris Resort was good and dive into the lake from the diving plank or the elevated platform, if you are brave enough. Before you are leaving the overland make sure you order the Crawfish pizza. It is fantastic, but make sure you order any food an hour before you want to eat.
Lake Bunyonyi is a not to miss place to visit! Thanks to Freka African Holidays for this amazing tour.
