An amazing experience!
5/5

Not knowing what to expect from a safari adventure, I couldn't say enough about what an amazing experience it was, surpassing my expectations. Everything was taken care of - from the Safari Jeep, to the wonderful driving skills, the outstanding food and accommodations ... and the best part would be seeing all the different animals and the history surrounding them. The Guide had a wealth of knowledge. If you are looking for an awesome adventure - contact Tanganyika Ancient Routes!

Amazing food, great vehicle, super communication skills, top notch!
5/5

My husband and I were part of a group. The vehicle provided as much comfort as is feasibly possible on those crazy roads. We always had water available and the guide's English speaking skills were great. We can't say enough about the food... always a different combination, always the most amazing flavors! Even though we were in a camp, the staff treated us as if we were in a five star hotel. That's not an easy feat!! Many thanks to the staff and guide.

16 Wonderful Days in Africa
5/5

This is my second experience with Tanganyika Ancient Routes and I could not have been happier. Every detail, no mater how tiny, was given the staff's quick and complete attention. The food was outstanding and each member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure our every wish was granted. They were enormously helpful with language and money questions and always gave us a feeling of safety and security especially when we were required to cross the border to another country. The safari tour of the Crater was so beautiful. It was a wild ride that I will not soon forget. I would highly recommend Tanganyika Ancient Routes to anyone interested in traveling to Africa and, if I go back to Tanzania, I would book with them again.

Exceptional Company that tailors to your needs!
5/5

Thanks to Charles and team for making this a trip of a lifetime. Tanganyika Ancient Routes provided the help and information we needed from beginning to end, i.e. immunizations needs, visa applications, booking of flights, packing recommendations, local customs etc.

The tour was well organized with a comfortable mix of hotels and luxury tent accommodations. The food was exceptional. All our needs were met and we were made to feel safe throughout the trip. Besides being very knowledgeable about the animals, people, and surroundings, our guides/drivers were highly skilled: they were able to spot animals miles and miles away, sometimes without binoculars. We could not have asked for a better crew.

I initially thought we would get tired of seeing the same animals day after day but that was not the case. We visited several different parks (Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Ngorongo, Serengeti, Saadani) all with their own unique sightings. The tour was organized in a way that allowed us just enough time to enjoy each park without getting monotonous.
I would definitely recommend Tanganyika Ancient Routes to anyone who is looking for the trip of a lifetime.

Lifetime dream fulfilled
5/5

I have been dreaming of an African safari for as long as I can remember, and my experience was even more than I had hoped. It was an experience that cannot possibly be put into words! We had so many up-close and personal encounters with the animals, mostly because of the experience of our guide, who grew up in the area we toured. I highly recommend Tanganyika Ancient Routes! Bring a good camera with a telephoto lens. It's an experience of a lifetime!

Everything we hoped for and more
5/5

For years my wife and I had hoped to go on an African safari with our kids and with some friends, and when the time came to plan it, a friend of ours highly recommended that we use Charles Mpanda and his Tanganyika Ancient Routes tour company as our guide. We were not disappointed, Charles and his drivers were the best... they were extremely friendly, helpful and insightful.

Charles was amazing at spotting animals that we could never have seen without him. Traveling for an extended safari with preteen kids can be challenging, but Charles and his staff were absolutely great with the kids and the kids had a lot of fun with them. All the overnight arrangements were wonderful and Charles was hands on if any issues needed clearing up.

As our friend did for us, we can also highly recommend Charles to you... our safari was everything we hoped it would be and more.

The trip of a lifetime!
5/5

Our safari group was a reunion of friends - 6 adults and 3 children - and everyone had a great time. Each day was a new experience of stunning landscapes and amazing animals… far beyond our expectations. The accommodations were top-notch and all of the transportation arrangements (by air and by land) were very smooth. Charles Mpanda and his company handled every detail of the journey so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. Charles and the drivers were friendly, personable, accommodating to our needs, and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and local culture. It was truly the trip of a lifetime!

Unbelievable experience
5/5

I have just spent the most wonderful experience of my lifetime in Tanzania while on Safari with Tanganyika Ancient Routes more importantly with Charles the owner. The locations that we went to were unbelievable, I have never seen so many wonderful landscapes and the animals that we saw just blew me away. Charles knowledge of Tanzania and the wildlife is the best, while driving alone we would stop and I would be thinking what are we stopping for and Charles would say “just over there beside the tree” and right enough there would be a Cheetah or a hyena or something there ……….amazing.
I will defiantly be using Charles services again the sooner the better.

Amazing trip!
5/5

I've traveled all over the world and I was blown away with Tanzania. The animals, the landscape, the people, were all amazing. But what really made this trip was Charles. He helped us through the booking process (with many changes) and then took care of us every minute while in the country. I will always recommend him and his company to anyone looking to go on a Safari.

Fabulous trip!
5/5

I had a wonderful time on safari!!! My guide was very friendly and welcoming. He knew all about the animals, trees, and history of the area and I felt like I got a cultural tour with the safari. He was flexible and was willing to make stops at some of the stores to see the tanzanite and to get coffee at a local shop. On safari he knew the parks like the back of his hand and knew which trails to go on to see certain animals. It was a wonderful trip. The only downside was that it was harder to pay for than other safaris. There is no option to pay for it online. I had to send a copy of my credit card with a filled out form.
