Magical Kenya trip with old and new friends.
4/5

Arrival at Kenyatta Airport late in the evening was a shambles. Immigration took nearly 2 hours and the wait was totally unnecessary. Travellers should always be advised to apply for their visa online (eVisa) as the queue is much shorter. Only 3 staff at the desks for a jumbo jet of over 300 passengers!

Fairview Hotel was very disorganised on our arrival and did not seem to know whose booking related to which rooms. My 15 year daughter ended up on a ground floor single room, feeling very vulnerable. I slept in there instead, and she shared with her dad. It was freezing and I only had one sheet, so I slept fully clothed (with warm coat). Our 3 rooms were spread all round the hotel which made sorting luggage and clothes tricky. Breakfast was a highlight and set us up for the next day of travel. I would recommend 2 nights there if arriving late in the evening.

Booking of internal flights and hotels by an Kenya operator made the trip very straight forward.

The rest of the trip was brilliant. Favourite place was Lewa Downs - amazing in every way.. Samburu Intrepids needs a bit of an upgrade - the truck are very old now and the food is a little above average. Kitchwa Tembo was magical - as we previously experienced, although the electric fence was broken and the camp was invaded by a large elephant on several nights, a little disturbing, especially as there is a known pride of 16 lion just outside the camp ... which we saw from our trucks. This needs to be rectified.

Love Kenya - can't wait to be back. Thank you.

Great customer service and amazing safari experience
4/5

I have to point out that generally I do not write online reviews. However, I really found other people’s reviews about Uniglobe Let’s Go Travel very useful in helping me decide to contact them, so I figured it is not too late to help future travelers with a review of my own.

First of all, I like to thank Angela Githatu from Uniglobe for helping me plan an amazing trip. After doing a lot of research and reading reviews, I decided to contact Uniglobe, among other agencies, to get a quote for my trip to Kenya. I received a quote within a couple of days. The personalized quote was very detailed and included all the information I originally requested. After reviewing the quote, I had more questions. Angela very promptly replied to my emails, and that really helped in fine tuning the details of the trip in a very short period of time. Before making the payment for the package, I called Angela to ask her even more questions and requested that she walked me through the purchase process. She was available during office hours and was very attentive in answering my questions. In case you are wondering, I bought an international calling card to be able to speak with her directly. Angela helped me plan everything, from local air and ground transportation to securing my place in the safari. I did 4 days in Masai Mara (at Ilkeliani Camp), 1 day at Lake Nakuru (at Sopa Lodge) and 2 days in Nairobi. My safari experience at Ilkeliani camp was amazing, from the food, to the friendliness of the staff and the game drives with the awesome safari guides (John Mark and Eric).

When we arrived to Kenya (group of 4 adults), a Uniglobe representative was already waiting for us. She called the driver and he took us to a city hotel for an overnight stay. The next morning, James, our second driver, picked us in the morning to take us to Wilson airport. James was very friendly and courteous. Once at Mara, we spent 3 nights in our camp before Jimmy, our third driver, drove us to Lake Nakuru. We did two game drives at Lake Nakuru before driving back to our hotel in Nairobi. Jimmy was very friendly, very easy to talk to, and knew a good deal of information about the animals we were spotting. On our departure day, a fourth driver, picked us timely at the hotel and drove us to the airport. All of this ground transportation was arranged by Uniglobe and was arranged based on our itinerary preferences. Having local and knowledgeable drivers makes all the difference. Trust me, you need a local to be able to navigate through the traffic. Thank you all!

I was extremely pleased with the great customer service offered by Angela. I even recommended to my friends to finish their travel arrangements with Angela, and once again Angela delivered. Even during our stay she was very helpful. We had some issues with the departure time for our return flight that required modifying our itinerary. We called Angela to her office in the middle of our trip and she was able to make the necessary arrangements for us. In addition, we were traveling on a budget and we did not wanted to sacrifice certain elements of our trip (we wanted a specific camp/safari dates) and Angela/Uniglobe Let’s Go Travel made it possible for us to have an amazing experience for a reasonable price. Thank you!

Efficient and friendly organisers of trips in Kenya
4/5

My wife and I have used Let's Go on several occasions when we were working as volunteers in Kenya between 2007 and 2009 and now when we return from time to time. I used to visit their helpful office in the ABC Plaza on my way to Kangemi if I was looking for a few days break. They had good suggestions and were reliable and efficient in making the arrangements. We continue to use them now we are back in the UK and fhey can offer advantages over the bigger international travel agencies. We have just returned from two days in Laikipia where they handled very well the problems of transferring money to their Kenyan Bank and issuing vouchers for our stay.

We are very happy about the service in the Masai Mara and also about kind help of the driver who was assisting us in Nairobi. I will be very happy to refer to you any of my friends who decide to visit Kenya.

Coordinator was great but driver was rude
3/5

The coordinator Angela G. was extremely helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend her!
The driver Simon M. made inappropriate comments, was rude, drove unsafely, and was passive-aggressive when we made inquiries (that were paid for in the itinerary). His tour of Lake Nakuru National Park was rushed and we had to insist to get to spend time viewing the game (again all prepaid for).
The meal and tour at the Kericho tea plantation hotel that we requested was extremely disappointing: the food had an insect and the waiter did nothing about it, the paid tour lasted 15 min only and we only were allowed to see a tiny lot that is unused but had old tea bushes. Deviating to Kericho was unfortunately not worth the money.

Thank you Maria for your comments, we appreciate your being honest with us on your experience. We are glad to hear that Angela G was helpful however we are regrettable and are saddened to hear that the driver allocated to your safari was not satisfactory and did not meet your expectations, be assured we will make sure his miss-conduct is dealt with appropriately.

It is unfortunate that your tour in Nakuru was rushed, we have also contacted the Kericho Tea Plantation and informed them of your dissatisfaction of the tour and meals.

Once again, our heartfelt apologies, we value your sentiments as these help us in improving our services as well as inform us on what places to recommend to other clients.

Thank you.

Incompetent at best, likely misleading, possibly even scamming
2/5

We are based in Nairobi but arranged a safari to the Masai Mara with transportation, accommodation and game drives. The travel agent did not disclose all of the fees, and, we're not sure, but suspect there may be some kind of kick-back scam. Were were also mislead us about the quality and type of safari vehicle, and then tried to back-date an email (which, of course, doesn't work), to try to "prove" we were given the information up front (we were not). The same vehicle was used to drive from Nairobi to the Mara as was used for the game drives. At least two of the seat belts were not functioning, and the ones that did clip were questionable if they would hold during an accident because they were so worn out. The vehicle was fine for the game drives, but certainly not a safe way to travel on Kenyan roads, particularly on the escarpment road with heavy truck traffic, lots of potholes, passing, and no guard rails. That said, the driver/guide was good.
Strongly recommend against booking with this company because of questionable ethics.
