Truly Amazing Experience
Absolutely amazing experience and far exceeded our expectations. We did a private tour with the family start in from Arusha to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Richard was such amazing guide, knowledgeable and kind. Our flight to Zanzibar was also included. Would definitely recommend 4 day tour, especially with Richard as your guide.

Great company to go on safari with!
Me and my sister went on a 4 day safari to Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We had the best experience.
We saw al of the big five wich was great.
Our guide Simba was very nice and told us about the animals.
Their service is amazing we landed on a different airport then we planned, and they took us from Kilimanjaro to Arusha by car!
We would recommend this company to go on safari with!

Good Price for the whole Experience
Tour Details:
4 days, 3 nights.
Public campsite (tents)
Shared vehicle (we were 3 and it could be shared for + 4).
Serengeti National Park
Tarangire National Park
Ngorongoro Crater
Lake Manyara National Park
Pros:
- Very affordable considering the overall experience ($750 / person - all expenses included).
- Amazing food considering all the limitations (no markets, kitchen,...).
- We were able to see 4 out of the big 5s: very close actually - 1m -, we actually saw a rhyno but it was miles away.
- Other animals like: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffe, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, hyenas,.. also close (1m). Cheetah and ostrich was pretty close (30-50m).
- Jeep experience.
1st day = Guide + 7 people.
On 1st day the person close to the driver's seat was not able to have a good experience (no rooftop and limited windows) - however, it was not part of our group, so we did not care.
2-4th day = Guide + 5 people.
On the other days, with 5 people, it was amazing. Space enough for everyone. Everyone has a big window (no middle seat) and we can open the rooftop to enjoy the experience.
Cons:
- The guide for the 4 days was not very passionate about the experience.
- Expected to start the experience before dawn to have a better chance to see hunts. Not really, very lazy guide.
- Long hours until we reach our destination. Half of your day is spent on the road, stops for food, wc,.. Which is normal, but we had the feeling sometimes it was too much.
- Our sleeping bags had a bad smell.. we had to sleep with a lot of clothes.
- Our hostel was changed on the 1st day without proper notice. The one communicated was way better (+swimming pool). Not a big deal but not good communication.
- Taxes for the payment. You are counting with a big value (thousands of €$) and then you have to add +5%. This can be negotiated as most of the time you can complain and pay 3.5%. I get it, but please keep this in mind.

Posted on Dec 30, 2023Dear Bruno,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback on your recent Tanzania safari experience with us. We genuinely appreciate your insights and apologize for any aspects that fell short of your expectations.
First and foremost, we're delighted to hear that you enjoyed many positive aspects of your safari, including the incredible wildlife sightings, budget-friendly, delicious meals, and comfort.
However, we are equally concerned about the challenges you encountered, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to addressing the issues you raised to enhance our services for future travelers.
We regret to learn that your guide lacked enthusiasm. We are taking corrective measures to ensure all guides are consistently passionate and engaging.
We also understand your disappointment regarding the guide's approach of not being able to start with an early morning game drive. This is mostly because, with a shared safari, the itinerary is pre-planned and most of the time it is not guaranteed to start at dawn. Often 1hr late, around 7:00 am. However, with a private option, it is easy to customize and guarantee to start early morning.
Our sincere apologies for the discomfort caused by the sleeping bags. We are doing our best to ensure the quality of our equipment meets the highest standards. We also highly advise our future camping travelers to bring their own sleeping bags whenever possible.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the taxes and payment process and I wanted to provide a clarification. These surcharges are imposed by the government as well as transaction fees for card payments. Also, these 3.5% surcharge (not 5%) are not additional fees charged by Zamunda Tours, but rather a government-mandated fee.
Dear Brunoa, your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We would like to extend our gratitude for choosing our company and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you and our future travelers with an enhanced safari experience in the future.
Wishing you wonderful future travels Rafiki!
Warmest Regards,
Salim

Private Safari and northern Serengeti - Zamunda rocks!
My girlfriend and I went on a 5 days (4 nights) private safari with Zamunda tours.
To summarize it - I would always do it this way again - which was a great recommendation of Salim
1) it’s the only way to get to the northern Serengeti which is beautiful remote and we saw the migration over the Mara river - while
staying in an absolutely luxurious tented lodge (these lodges are only temporary for a couple of month a year there). We heard Hyenas and other wildlife at night - while being guarded at night by a Masaai men who was protecting the camp at night. While every part of the safari had its uniqueness- I would always come back to see the Northern Serengeti as it’s way less populated and stunning. The migration was overwhelming- we even saw a wildebeest being catched by crocodiles - an experience which really makes me consider becoming vegetarian…..
2) only a private safari gives you the opportunity to move around within the Jeep to get the best view on wildlife- which is very important depending on which side of the car the wildlife is. I had direct eyesight with a lion 1m of each other which was quite intense….. the lion liked the shade of our Jeep and liked a little bit to much our rear tyre. Once the lion started to lick and play with the paws with our tyre it was time to hit the road again. Needless to say a private tour also gives you the opportunity to follow your own pace, have the guides attention for your questions and set the priorities. Ours were the Hippos - our true spirit animals. Jonathan (who was an amazing guide) took us therefore especially to places with hippos where we could see them outside the pond as well during daytime. Thanks a lot!!
We first looked at shared safaris and were considering the cost. Fun fact - my girlfriend doesn’t like camping (many thanks to her) so we opted for tented lodges which was very great in the end. If we would have camped in tents we would have been soaking wet as quite unusual for the time of the year a warm front passed through. The rain was drumming on roof of our camp while we were sleeping in a king size bed in our lodge. You can imagine how people in the other Jeep’s looked like when we passed them next morning

Excellent!
We did a private safari of five days and have been to Tarangire, the central and northern Serengeti and Ngorongoro. All was perfect. Right from the beginning of planing the communication was easy and Salim adviced us well. He gave us different options and choices, so we could plan the best tour to our wishes.
The Safari itself was awesome. Jonathan has been a great guide. He explained everything about the animals and the landscape but also gave us the space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The lodges have all been very good choosen and we loved falling a sleep and getting awake by the Sound of nature.
Thank you so much for making our trip unforgettable.

Amazing company to go on Safari with
Could not recommend Zamunda more for going on Safari! We did a 4 night 5 day tour as a group of 4 and it was amazing from start to finish. They were also really accommodating for any changes we needed and as they are a small company we felt really looked after.
Massive thank you to our amazing guide Abouh, who went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. We also had a great chef come with us who made us breakfast, lunch and dinner for all our accommodations which didn’t offer catering. The food was lovely and there was so much variety.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect but everyday got better and we got to see something different. We spent our first day in Tarangire national park which was a great first place as you get to see so much. We then drove to the Serengeti and spent 2.5 days there and if you can fit it into your budget / time I would 100% not miss going there. On our last day we went to the Ngorongoro crater which was so beautiful and the best way to finish our Safari as we got to see Rhinos, so even on day 5 we got to see something new!
If you are considering going on Safari, all of our group would recommend Zamunda and our driver Abouh. Also, if you’re deciding where to go on Safari, Tanzania was so beautiful and everyone was so friendly!!

Godfrey was knowledgeable passionate and so much fun
The safari tour we did with Zamunda was incredible and I could not recommend it enough. The knowledge of our safari guide Godfrey was unparallel and he took so much time to answer all of our questions, tell us information about different animals and also the tribes people. We went to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks. They were each incredibly special and different in their own ways. The accommodation we stayed in were tented lodges and such a unique experience. Staff and food were amazing at every stop and extremely attentive and kind. Everything was organised smoothly and efficiently and completely reliable. This trip has given me a love for safari, Tanzania and Africa in general after having such a positive experience. I would recommend zamunda tours to anyone particularly our guide Godfrey who was hands down amazing. I can't wait to cone back !
