Deceitful
Do not recommend – I had a terrible experience with Victoria Falls Serious Fun Travel. The company failed to provide the agreed-upon services and has since defaulted on returning my money. After a formal dispute arose, a signed debt settlement agreement was reached where they committed to a partial refund of US$1,500. However, the owner, Marvel, completely broke this contract—only returning US$245 before cutting off communication and defaulting on the rest of the debt.Because of their fraudulent behavior and breach of contract, I have had to file formal fraud reports with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), the local Tourism Police Unit, and CID Commercial Crime. I am also actively working with my credit card provider to resolve the unauthorized and unfulfilled transaction.Save yourself the stress and avoid this operator. They do not honor their contracts or their legal settlement agreements.

Deceptive and rude
Wish I had looked at reviews before hand but across three countries I had only been overwhelmingly happy with all services booked. This guy was SERIOUSLY UNFUN! Booked a ‘2 day 1 night’ Hwange safari for $500, expecting a dedicated overnight package with two game drives, meals, and park fees included (standard for this type of package unless otherwise stated, per every other safari I’ve done in the region). What I actually got: pickup was 40 minutes late (sitting and waiting in the cold at 5 am), and the drivers then got lost en route, so we didn’t arrive at the park until about 1.5 hours behind schedule — in a vehicle with no working air conditioning. The drivers themselves weren’t even aware I was booked for an overnight stay. No water was offered all day except at lunch, and the first meal/drinks came over 8 hours after pickup. That evening, the drivers told me the hotel was in charge of evening activities for me — except the hotel had no idea I was even coming. There were no evening activities after the day trippers left and no dinner. I was told I’d be joining an an organized tour that already existed but in reality no dedicated arrangement existed; I was simply folded into other groups’ day trips. After the Day 2 morning drive, no ride home had been organized at the scheduled time; the operator’s fix was to offer me the afternoon drive with a day-trippers group, but then said they were ‘too far away’ — leaving me waiting at a hotel for 4 hours with no plan, and losing an entire extra day of my trip. On top of all this, I paid $100 out of pocket for park entry fees, dinner, that should have been covered and a night drive with the hotel. When I raised these issues, the operator’s response was to insist I’d ‘agreed to the itinerary’ — an itinerary that was never actually followed in the first place. If you’re looking for even decent service, I would steer clear of Marvel and his company.

I did not get to go on the trip. I cancelled well in advance and was told I would be refunded 100% of deposits made. It has been close to a year of promises from Marvel to refund me but no payment has been sent back to me. First, it was an excuse of difficulties sending money back to US from Zimbabwe, etc. There is always a way to send money almost anywhere in this world. I have traveled all-over the world and getting money from one place to another can almost always be worked out. You had no problem receiving my money. I am out of over $2000 USD and now have to go through legal hoops in a different country to attempt to be refunded. My whole reason for postponing and canceling my trip was due to medical reasons for my mother who was planning to go on this trip and physically could not. It is really shameful of your business to be so deceptive amd dishonest.

Hwange National Park
Hwange National Park with Victoria falls serious of fun.
Got back problem and informed the office. They told me because of this they would refund me the money. That was 2 weeks before the trip. Beginning of December. Now it’s January I am still trying to contact them every day and they only give me broken promises. Every day for a month. I am at loss for words and I only want my 900$ back. But still getting the same answer that’s it’s going to happen today or tomorrow. There is something really not right. Client should not have to fight this hard for its money that was promised back!!

We are grateful you have raised this, an issue that may also affect our future travelers. We always thrive to give all our clients the best holidays in Victoria Falls and any other places where we offer safaris. In this regard, we are full aware that there maybe cancellations, due to unforeseen circumstances.
We have a set cancellation policy that stipulates any refunds to be paid wthin 30 days from the cancellation date.
I will not dwell much on the issue of how you cancelled and the reasons to cancel. And yes, out of pity heart, we agreed to a full refund of the trip fee. We never charged any cancellation of the fee despite us fully preparing for the trip and you cancelling on peak season.
We have some third party suppliers, who we also pay as we prepare you an amazing holiday. We are so much determined to offer the best service and your explanation to the cancellation ,we felt would prejudiced you of the fun.
We have promised to refund you and like any other organisations credit notes go through certain channels. We understand that these funds are so dear to you and we will process them within the cancellation time of the policy.
You paid the fees including park fees, transaction taxes, but yes we will refund you the whole amount plus the US$10 you added on top of what you paid.
