Perfect 7 day safari with a wonderful company
I was lucky enough to experience the Serengeti on an all expenses paid 5 star work trip back in 2024. This inspired me to take my family.
But when we started lookng at all the options and budgets it all became quite daunting. Then we found Making Memories!
As soon as we spoke to Ally it all started to become so easy and friendly. We quickly felt that we could trust him and his advice. He tailored the schedule and the budget to our needs perfectly.
We arrived and stayed at his lodge Roots & River in Arusha where we received a very warm, fun and friendly welcome from our guide Josef and chef Mr Delicious!
The lodge is lovely quiet place to relax before and after the epic safari adventure.
And the food prepared by Mr Delicious is super tasty!
We spent 7 days exploring all the national parks in the area. The best was 3 days in the Serengeti! 7 days in the 4x4 with our excellent guide and companion Josef. His experience, kindness and knowledge made this trip even more magical. And we had many laughs with him too. All the time feeling very safe and welcome.
Another good point when deaking directly with a local company is the price is much more competitive.

Our family of 10—6 adults and 4 children—had an absolutely incredible experience with Making Memories in Africa! From beginning to end, the level of care, hospitality, and attention we received made this trip truly unforgettable.
Our adventure began when our tour guides picked us up in Arusha, carefully packed all of our luggage into the safari jeeps, and started our approximately 7-hour journey to Serengeti National Park. Once there, we began our first game drive, and it was AMAZING! We saw so many beautiful animals, including zebras, lions, gazelles, elephants, and many more. 🦓🦁🐘 Seeing these animals in their natural habitat was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both the adults and children in our family.
The accommodations and meals throughout our safari were wonderful. Breakfast and dinner were provided at each of our accommodations, and lunch was also prepared for us each day by the lodge to take along on our safari. Having everything arranged for us made traveling with a family of 10 so much easier and allowed us to simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Our first night was spent in the Serengeti, and our second night was near the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Waking up surrounded by the beauty of Tanzania and experiencing these incredible locations as a family gave us memories we will cherish forever.
A very special thank you goes to our tour operator, Ally, who truly went above and beyond for our family. On our final day in Tanzania, we had several hours between the end of our safari and our flight to Istanbul, Turkey, for the second part of our vacation. Instead of having our family wait around for hours, Ally arranged an apartment where all 10 of us could shower, rest, and get comfortable before heading to the airport—and he did this at no additional cost to us. After several days of traveling and safari adventures, having a comfortable place to freshen up and relax before our flight was incredibly thoughtful and greatly appreciated.
Ally also surprised each member of our family with a Making Memories in Africa T-shirt featuring their monogram, along with a certificate commemorating our safari experience. It was such a special and thoughtful way to end our time in Tanzania. ❤️
Making Memories in Africa truly lived up to its name! They didn't simply take us on a safari—they helped our family create memories that we will talk about and treasure for years to come. From the incredible wildlife and breathtaking scenery to the kindness, organization, and hospitality shown to our family, the entire experience was exceptional.

Open to anything and always friendly
We spent two days in the Serengeti and one day in the Ngorongoro Crater. The camps we booked were just as described—simple but clean. The food was delicious everywhere, and the teams were very attentive. We will definitely be back! On the fourth day, we made a spur-of-the-moment visit to a waterfall at the foot of Mount Meru, which was also well worth it. Tanzania is incredibly diverse; we are thrilled by the variety the country has to offer and, above all, by the friendliness of the people.

Had a very nice day at the Materuni Waterfalls where we also did a Coffee Tour and went to the Hot Springs afterwards. Our guide Joseph was very reliable and the price is totaly worth it. Would fo it again:)

Amazing safari! Our guide Joseph was very interesting and friendly, and our manager Ally was very responsive and kind. The three parks—Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro—are simply incredible for seeing animals up close 🤩 100% recommended. Can't wait to go on another safari!

Perfect safari experience
We loved everything about our five - day safari with Twalib and Joachim!! Both of them had wide knowledge about the different animals and parks, which we got to know throughout the different game drives.
Communication and organization with Ally beforehand was very easy and service was always on time. We did Tarangire national park on day one, then drove up to Serengeti national park for day 2 and 3. After that we drove to Ngorongoro crater, where we experienced our fourth day of the safari. On the last day we drove to Manyara national park, from where we headed home after half a day of safari.
There was five of us in the car and we all loved it and 100% would do it again!!

Once in a lifetime experience with incredible guides
We hiked Mount Kilimanjaro doing the 6 day Machame trip. Everything was incredibly well organized, and we were able to rent everything we needed the day before the trip. Our guides Bob, Jofrey, and Godfry were amazing and helped us every step of the way to make sure that we felt our best each day and were able to have an enjoyable experience at the summit. The entire team was so kind and professional, and were always working hard to make sure that we had food and camp set up even when the weather was less than ideal. We couldn't be more grateful to have such wonderful people helping us to the top! The Machame route was beautiful, and gave us a chance to see a new ecosystem and have a variety of different hikes each day while gradually acclimating to the altitude. Overall, I would highly recommend booking with Making Memories in Africa for the chance to take on an incredible journey with an amazing team!
