Excellent Adventure & Great Value
5/5

I received 3 competitive quotes via Safaribookings.com and after careful review I selected RO Scavengers. I chose them based on the selected itinerary and the quality of the camps that were featured and competitive pricing offered. Correspondence via e-mail was easy, and despite the time difference, all responses were very timely.

This trip was perfect for my grandson and I to enjoy unforgettable wildlife experiences. He is 15 and it was his first big trip out of the country and wow did it open his eyes to the world. His favorite animal is the Lion and we saw plenty. The itinerary was laid out carefully, such that each day got better and better. Day 1 at Tarangire we saw a Leopard and tons of other wildlife (elephants, giraffe, monkeys, etc.) Day 2 at Lake Manyara we saw more monkeys, Elephants up close, flamingos, plenty of other animals and beautiful scenery. Day 3 was primarily a transfer day but we got into Serengeti NP late in the afternoon and saw a few female lionesses with a cub perched upon a rock. Things really picked up on Day 4 in Serengeti where we saw Cheetahs, Lions, Hippos, and so much more. Day 5 was the absolute highlight in Ngorongora Crater, 5 minutes into our drive we saw 3 Rhinos! A few minutes later 3 large Male lions! We were up close and personal with everything include Ostrich, Zebra, Wildebeest, and so much more.

My wife and I had previously gone on a luxury safari in South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, so I was a little uncertain how I would enjoy going with this more modestly priced mid-range safari. I was pleasantly surprised! On our previous experience we were shuffled from camp to camp by transfer drivers, at each camp put on shared game drive vehicles with 2-3 other couples. On this safari it was a private experience with the same Land Cruiser and Driver/Guide for the full 5 days. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and caring. Each camp was excellent, with good food and various amenities. 2 of our camps had swimming pools and monkeys running around. Another camp offered a sundowner cocktail hour and had zebras in the camp. We even got massages at one camp! All camps had power and WiFi. That was luxury enough for us!

Unforgettable Tanzania Safari with RO Scavenger Safaris
5/5

We just returned from our Tanzania safari organized by RO Scavenger Safaris, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience! From the very first inquiry to the last day of the tour, everything was seamlessly managed.
Our guide, Edward, was an absolute rockstar. His incredible knowledge of the wildlife, sharp eyes for spotting animals from afar, warm personality and sense of humour made every game drive educational and endlessly exciting. We were lucky enough to witness breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife moments in Serengeti that we will cherish forever.
The accommodations and vehicles were comfortable, well-maintained, and exceeded our expectations. If you are planning a trip to Tanzania and want a reliable, professional, and passionate team, look no further than RO Scavenger Safaris. Highly recommended!

A big thumbs up to RO Scavenger and guide Edward
5/5

I read the comments on safaribookings, as well as a few social networking websites in China, hence I reached out to RO Scavenger and a few more operators for quote. Among them, RO Scavenger was the first few to respond. I remember the contact person is Silas, he was able to quickly come up with a customized itinerary, provide detailed breakdown of all the fees and charges, and answer my questions. The communication was mostly smooth and clear.

Then I want to express my sincere recommendation of your guide Edward. He is very funny, talkative and professional. He is especially welcoming to Chinese clients - in that he learnt some Mandarin by himself, and prepared a Chinese version of animal guide book which has been extremely useful for us to understand the name, habits and behaviors of those animals.

Throughout the 7-day trip that covered Tarangire, Ngorongoro, central and north Serengeti, Edward explained what would the programs be for the next day, and always patient in answering our questions. For the most important part on game drive - I love Edward for what he has done. We saw all the animals that we wanted to see, including the big five - not possible without his expertise (and the friends he has). I sometimes wonder how could he see animals so distant in the grass, but it turned out he just could. From lions sleeping in the bush to leopards hiding in the tree, we saw all the nature has to offer.

And Edward has the patience - the other day we were waiting for wildbeasts to cross the Mara River, and they just didn’t make the move. Edward assured us and we waited for long enough that we finally see the spectacular Great Migration that we came so far to see.

Finally, maybe not directly relevant to the tour, Edward has helped 3 times to other tour guides who had trouble with their safari car. Although it means slight delay to our game drive, we were happy to see that his kindness has helped other groups in their unlucky times.

I genuinely enjoyed the trip, I am more than thankful for RO Scavenger and Edward to help me (and my partner) to make this trip such an unforgettable experience.
