10 Days of Pure Ugandan Magic
5/5

From Rhinos to Gorillas, and Every Emotional Moment in Between
From the first sunrise to the last golden sunset, our 10-day safari in Uganda felt like stepping into a dream: a living, vibrant story unfolding before us across five incredible national parks. It wasn't just a trip; it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that touched our hearts in ways that are difficult to put into words.

My husband and I chose Uganda for our honeymoon, and from the moment we met our guide, Jamal, from Deks Safaris & Tours, we knew we were in the hands of someone very special. What followed were ten days of pure wonder, connection, and unforgettable adventures.
Our tour took us through Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Lake Mburo, each revealing a new facet of Uganda's soul. The landscapes shifted from rolling savannas to cloud forests, each teeming with life and unimaginable beauty. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine kindness. Uganda isn't just beautiful; it's alive, as if the land itself breathes a quiet magic.
Our adventure began at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a place where hope and protection go hand in hand. Being just meters away from a small herd—seven majestic rhinos, including a playful baby—was deeply moving. The rangers' dedication was palpable in every word and every step. It was a reminder that humans and nature can coexist in harmony when care and respect are the way.
Then we arrived at the breathtaking Murchison Falls, a scene of awe in its purest form. Watching the mighty Nile compress into a narrow gorge before thundering down was mesmerizing: power and beauty intertwined. At sunset, the golden water reflected an almost sacred light. The next day, during our boat safari, we observed hippos resting, buffalo grazing, and crocodiles basking in the sun; every sound and every movement was part of the grand symphony of wildlife.
Walking through Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees was like stepping into another world. After a long wait, the reward was immense: we found ourselves just a meter away from a tranquil male, lying back with his hands behind his head as if posing for a photograph. Around him, others played and groomed each other with complete naturalness. It was a pure, peaceful, and profoundly human moment, a connection etched in our souls.

The most anticipated moment arrived in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Being just a few meters away from a family of 11 mountain gorillas, with three playful infants, was an indescribable experience. The powerful silver male stood guard calmly, and the rangers guided us with a serenity that demonstrated the mutual trust between humans and gorillas.

The hike was surprisingly easy, about 30 minutes down the mountain. We followed the gorillas as they moved through the mist and light of the forest, the air thick with earth and rain. Our group was wonderful and supportive, especially with an elderly woman who, despite the difficulty, never stopped smiling. That day we didn't just observe wildlife: we shared a pure moment of life.

From the misty forests of Bwindi, we moved on to the golden plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we saw two elegant leopards and two tree-climbing lions in Ishasha, resting lazily in the branches of fig trees. We also saw elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and countless other species that filled the landscape with movement and color.
We finished in Lake Mburo National Park, a tranquil paradise with rolling hills, mirror-like lakes, and zebras grazing freely. It was the perfect ending: a moment of peace and reflection after so many exciting days. At every accommodation, we were welcomed like friends. The details for our honeymoon were enchanting: flower petals, smiles, and gestures that made each night special. But our favorite place was Elephant Hab. Barbara and her team made us feel right at home; their warmth and kindness touched us deeply.
Our guide, Jamal, was exceptional: kind, patient, and wise. When we had a minor issue with a tire, he resolved it calmly and professionally. On our last day, he surprised us with a photo of me from the safari, printed and framed as a honeymoon gift. It was such a sincere and touching gesture that we will never forget it.
After visiting seven African countries, I can say with certainty that Uganda is the safest, most welcoming, and most authentic of them all. Its beauty goes beyond the landscape or the wildlife: it lives in its people. In every village, children ran to greet us, and when we needed help, strangers approached us with smiles. There is a deep connection here, a community that embraces you with sincerity.

Perfect 12-Day Safari through Tanzania and Uganda with Deks Tours
5/5

My husband, Winton, and I booked a 12-day trip to Africa with Deks Safaris and Tours in September, and to our surprise, the entire trip was unparalleled! We initially underestimated the company because it had few reviews and was new, but their service turned out to be incredibly professional, genuine, and flawless. From the moment we first spoke with Samuel about the trip until we made the booking, he was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the entire process.
When we landed at Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania, we met him in person, perfectly introduced as a representative of the company. Our guide, Emma, provided us with an exceptional 7-day experience in Tanzania: the safaris in the Serengeti were wonderful; we spotted many big cats, wildebeest, and a wide variety of other animals.

We then continued on to Uganda, where we met our guide, Jamal, who made the gorilla and chimpanzee tracking experience truly unforgettable. Coming face-to-face with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was such an amazing experience that it made us want to plan another trip to Uganda. We sincerely hope to organize another trip with you. We will definitely recommend your services to any of our friends planning a trip to Africa.
Thank you to Samuel, Emma, Jamal, and the entire Deks Safaris team.
With love,
Winton and Ketra

Unforgettable Experience

Unforgettable 10-Day Safari in Kenya & Uganda with Deks
Our family had the most unforgettable safari arranged by Deks. From the moment we contacted Samuel, everything was handled with professionalism and care. He guided us patiently through every detail and ensured all our questions were answered quickly. When we finally set out on safari with Micheal as our guide, the real magic began. His knowledge of wildlife and the landscapes was beyond our expectations. Game drives in the Masai Mara were breath-taking, watching lions, elephants, and wildebeests up close. Uganda was even more thrilling chimpanzee trekking in Kibale was full of excitement and gorilla trekking in Bwindi left us speechless. Every moment felt well-organized and personal. We highly recommend Deks safaris for anyone seeking a true adventure. Thank you, Samuel and Micheal, for making it an incredible journey.
Thanks Samuel

A professional and knowledgeable tour operator.
5/5

Our booking was for a 7-day trip including Rhino Tracking, QE NP, Murchison Falls, Gorilla Tracking etc. We had a great tour with our guide peter.
He was very flexible when we spontaneously wanted to include the shoebill tour. Moreover, the accommodations were much better than we expected! Especially Pakuba safari Lodge and the Gorilla mist camp were amazing. peter was really eager to show us as many animals as possible and we even saw a leopard very close once. In general, everything was very well organized and we really enjoyed our trip! We recommend Deks safaris and tours for any travelers yearning to visit Africa. Best greetings from USA!

Inspiring 8 days in Uganda with gorillas
5/5

My husband and I just spent a wonderful 8 days on safari in Uganda. Our tour guide Samuel was amazing. From the second he greeted us at Entebbe airport we knew we were in for a treat. Samuel was very professional, knowledgeable, down to earth and always on time. We got to know a lot about one another and had amazing conversations on our long drives between destinations. On our first day in Uganda, he took us for a rest at Haylo hotel in Lubowa along entebbe road near Kampala. The hotel is very clean with specious rooms, a true home away from home. It has Great local local food and and any food. We stayed there the first and last day. He joined us for dinner on our last night where we got to bond more and he even taught us a card game they play in Uganda that we will definitely be taking home to teach all of our friends. Samuel went above and beyond for anything we asked of him. I highly recommend Deks Safaris and Tours to anyone looking to visit Uganda and certainly hope to come back and have Samuel guide us again one day!

5/5

Samuel is a very humble, and is knowledgeable regarding safaris and tours. My experiences in Kidepo and Muchison Fall national parks top among the best experiences I have had touring parts of Africa.
Rafting on Nile river in Jinja, Uganda, and visiting the source of the mighty Nile river (called Kiira in local language) were added bonuses.
I recommend any body planning a safari in the East Africa region not to miss Deks Safaris & Tours
