A Dream Safari Turned Into a Nightmare – Avoid This Agency
1/5

If I could give this agency zero stars, I absolutely would. An extremely disappointing experience, and an agency I would strongly advise anyone to avoid.

Unfortunately, we made the mistake of choosing this agency for our trip to Tanzania, and what should have been an unforgettable experience turned into a frustrating and deeply disappointing ordeal.

Our vehicle broke down repeatedly, leaving us stranded in the middle of the savannah, with a guide who appeared completely unable to handle the situation professionally. To make matters worse, the guide provided virtually no information about the wildlife, national parks, or the surroundings. There were no meaningful explanations, no insights, and no real effort to make the game drives informative or engaging. We were left wondering what we were actually paying for.

As if this were not bad enough, we also missed out on game drives in some parks because the agency combined our group with another group operating on a completely different schedule. This resulted in missed activities and a significant loss of precious time during a trip that we had carefully planned and paid for.

The level of organisation, professionalism, and service was simply unacceptable. A safari in Tanzania is a significant investment, both financially and emotionally, and customers deserve reliable vehicles, competent guides, proper planning, and a service that delivers what was promised. This agency failed on all these fronts.

Tanzania is an extraordinary country, with breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife. Sadly, our experience was seriously compromised by the poor choices and incompetence of the agency we trusted to organise our trip.

A beautiful destination cannot compensate for a badly organised safari, unreliable vehicles, an unprepared guide, and missed experiences. We would never choose this agency again, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend it to anyone considering a trip to Tanzania.

Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. There are undoubtedly better operators who will treat your time, money, and expectations with the respect they deserve.

Dear Martina,

First of all, thank you for choosing Everlasting African Adventure for your Tanzania safari.

We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we must respectfully correct several statements in your review because we believe it is important that the full circumstances are presented fairly and accurately.

1. The vehicle problem

We acknowledge that our safari vehicle experienced a radiator problem during your trip. We accept responsibility for the inconvenience this caused, including the time lost on your first day in Serengeti. We understand that this was frustrating, and we do not deny that the vehicle required attention.

However, despite this setback, your guide continued to work hard to make the safari worthwhile. You still had the opportunity to see numerous animals, including the Big Five, which is a significant achievement on a safari. While we acknowledge the time lost, it is not accurate to suggest that your entire wildlife experience was unsuccessful.

Regarding the radiator, adding water was a temporary measure to allow the game drive to continue while managing the mechanical problem. We understand your concerns about the vehicle’s condition and take those concerns seriously.

2. The Ngorongoro Crater departure time

We strongly dispute your claim that you were required to leave the crater at 11:00 a.m. to accommodate the other couple’s flight.

Our records, including the relevant park permit and photographs taken by our chef and guide, show that the vehicle was leaving the crater floor at approximately 2:00 p.m. We also understand that the couple with the flight arrived at the airport on time.

We therefore have documentary evidence that contradicts the claim that the group was forced to leave the crater at 11:00 a.m. because of their flight.

We ask that these facts be considered before presenting this allegation as established truth.

3. Delays and accommodation arrangements

We also acknowledge that there was a delay in picking you up from your Ngorongoro accommodation.

However, the circumstances surrounding the booking are important. The accommodation we ultimately secured was farther away from the campsite, and the closer accommodation was already fully booked by the time your advance payment reflected in our account.

The payment delay affected our ability to secure the preferred accommodation. Furthermore, the remaining balance was received approximately two weeks after the advance payment.

We understand that these circumstances contributed to the inconvenience, and we accept that communication and coordination could have been better. Nevertheless, it is unfair to attribute every difficulty during the trip solely to poor planning by our team without considering the circumstances involved.

4. Safari guiding and wildlife sightings

We are disappointed by your claim that the guiding was extremely poor. Our guide continued to conduct game drives despite the mechanical difficulties, and you were able to see a wide variety of wildlife, including the Big Five.

We respect that every traveller has different expectations regarding guiding and the amount of information provided. We are willing to receive constructive feedback on this aspect of the experience.

However, among the six guests travelling in the vehicle, we have not received the same complaint from the other guests. The other travellers enjoyed their safari, although we recognise that individual experiences and expectations can differ.

5. The USD 400 compensation

We understand that the compensation arrangement is a major concern for you, and we recognise that any financial commitment made by our company should be handled clearly and responsibly.

We are willing to discuss the compensation arrangement and clarify the outstanding matter based on the communications and agreement between both parties. We do not believe that accusations and insults will help resolve the issue, and we would prefer to address it through a clear and documented discussion.

6. Our position as a safari company

Everlasting African Adventure does not claim to operate without mistakes. When problems arise, we believe they should be acknowledged and addressed fairly. We accept that the vehicle problem affected your experience, and we regret the time and inconvenience it caused.

At the same time, we cannot accept statements that contradict the evidence available to us. We are particularly concerned about allegations that misrepresent the departure time from Ngorongoro and the circumstances surrounding the other couple’s flight.

We are not asking you to hide your disappointment or withdraw genuine criticism. Every customer has the right to share an honest account of their experience. We simply ask that the review distinguish between the problems that genuinely occurred and claims that can be contradicted by the available records.

Thank you once again for choosing Everlasting African Adventure. We remain willing to discuss the unresolved compensation matter constructively and to review the concerns you have raised.

Kind regards,
Management Team

A disastrous safari that felt like a scam
1/5

An appalling experience with Everlasting African Adventure. We paid a substantial amount for a five-day safari through Tarangire, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. The vehicle was dirty and in very poor condition; repeated breakdowns, delays, poor planning and misleading explanations cost us precious time and made the whole trip deeply stressful.

On 17 August, after we had entered the Serengeti and had lunch, the vehicle broke down. We were told the repair would take about 30 minutes. Instead, we were kept outside the park until around 5 p.m., losing practically the entire afternoon game drive. We were then taken to a campsite for other passengers and reached our lodge around 7:30 p.m., after dark. After the vehicle came back from the mechanic, we personally saw water being added to the radiator. Continuing for several more days in a vehicle that had broken down, with no clear reassurance that the problem had been properly fixed, felt dangerous and completely unacceptable.

The company promised to make up the lost safari time the following day. It did not. We left the park at about 2:30 p.m. and were back at our hotel by 4, with no meaningful extra game-drive time. On 19 August, we were told to be ready for a 6:20 a.m. pickup, but we did not leave until around 8. First the driver blamed the other passengers; later the company blamed fog. The other passengers told us they had also been waiting for the driver. We later heard that the vehicle was still being repaired overnight. The conflicting explanations and lack of basic communication were infuriating.

The group was badly organised from the start. Two passengers had booked a shorter itinerary and had flights to catch, while the rest of us had paid for the full five days. Their schedule repeatedly cut into ours. At Ngorongoro, after only about two hours in the crater, we were told around 11 a.m. that the group had to leave because those passengers needed to catch a flight. That flight had been booked by the company. The result was that the rest of us lost time on a safari we had paid to experience fully.

The guiding was also extremely poor. In the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, we received very little information about the parks, wildlife or places we were visiting. Other Italian travellers in our group were dissatisfied too and filed complaints.

Then came the promised compensation. At the end of the safari, the company committed to paying us USD 400: USD 200 immediately and the remaining USD 200 by the end of September. We have received **nothing**. After hundreds of messages asking for the money the company promised, we have had no proper response and they have stopped replying. We feel cheated. In our view, making a clear promise, paying nothing and then ignoring customers is the conduct of **SCAMMERS**.

A safari costs a lot of money. When you choose to invest in your holiday, choose the operator carefully: the company’s organisation and decisions can make or ruin the entire trip. I hope this review helps protect future travellers from losing their money and having their holiday ruined as ours was. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Everlasting African Adventure.
