I recently embarked on a 2-week adventure with Engonzi Safaris, accompanied by my family, to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale for chimpanzees, and Bwindi for gorillas, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, Engonzi Safaris ensured every aspect of our journey was impeccable. Our knowledgeable guide meticulously planned our itinerary, making sure we didn't miss any opportunity to witness the mesmerizing wildlife that East Africa has to offer. The accommodations provided by Engonzi were top-notch, combining luxury with an authentic African experience. Each day brought new and exciting encounters, whether it was spotting lions and elephants freely roaming in Queen Elizabeth National Park, or the heartwarming sight of chimpanzees swinging effortlessly through the trees in Kibale. However, the highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the awe-inspiring encounter with the majestic mountain gorillas in Bwindi. Engonzi Safaris flawlessly handled the permits and logistics, ensuring a once-in-a-lifetime experience with these gentle giants. The whole adventure was filled with thrilling safari drives, breathtaking landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the local people we encountered along the way. I can’t thank enough to Engozi Safaris Uganda! Klaus is such a professional guy, very kind, respectful and full of knowledge.
We chose the 8-day Ultimate Safari Uganda, and we would have loved to stay for longer!! Honestly, this tour is impeccably well planned and organized, the lodges that Engozi picks for the stays are awesome, and also, support to the local communities (which is a plus). In regards to food, I was in heaven, as they made sure to always have a vegetarian meal available for me. And I have to say, all delicious!
The locations visited are remarkable, full of nature and lots of animals to see. Klaus was always keen in making our game drives longer, to have the chance to see more.
We visited the chimps and the mountain gorillas as well. These trekkings were awesome!!! For the gorilla trekking, we were meant to walk for hours, but Klaus drove around the mountains to take us to a closer access, and we only walk for about 20 minutes until we found the gorilla family. This was absolutely awesome.
Engozi has such good networking with locals in all the locations we visited, which made our experience even more enjoyable.
Klaus always travel with someone else, and this time, we had Jesse… our own professional photographer, who has all the equipment needed to get the best photos and videos. Jesse was amazing, coming to all our adventures and making sure we always got the best shots. He is a very professional guy, funny and dedicated.
Ugandans are beautiful people, kind, respectful and always smiley.

Unforgettable Safari Adventure with Engozi Safaris
Our experience with Engozi Safaris in Uganda was truly unforgettable. From the moment the journey began, Klaus and Jesse made us feel incredibly welcome. Their kindness, attention to detail, and deep passion for nature made all the difference throughout the trip.
The itinerary was perfectly designed, offering a great balance of adventure, wildlife encounters, and relaxation. One of the absolute highlights was the gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Coming face-to-face with a gorilla family in their natural habitat was a once-in-a-lifetime experience—humbling, emotional, and awe-inspiring. We also had an amazing time tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and walking with rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary—each experience unique and unforgettable.
Beyond those iconic moments, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife: elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and countless beautiful bird species. Every day brought something new and exciting, and Klaus and Jesse always made sure we didn’t miss a thing.
The accommodations were excellent—comfortable, clean, and always situated in beautiful locations that added to the experience. After a full day of adventure, it was wonderful to return to a welcoming lodge and enjoy delicious meals. The food throughout the trip was outstanding: fresh, varied, and full of flavor.
What really made the trip special, though, was the warmth and care of Klaus and Jesse. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and their knowledge of Uganda’s wildlife and culture is impressive. They were always there to answer questions and ensure everything ran smoothly.
I wholeheartedly recommend Engozi Safaris to anyone looking for a meaningful and well-organized safari experience in Uganda. It was a dream come true, and I wouldn’t hesitate to travel with them again.

We had a fantastic safari experience with Engozi Safaris Uganda. Klaus was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and gave us wonderful customer service and care on our trip. We went to Queen Elizabeth National park, Murchison Falls, Kibale National park, and Bigodi community walk. We loved all the parks and activities and Klaus made our experience at each a very positive and memorable one. I would recommend Klaus and Engozi Safaris anytime, and I will book another trip with Engozi for sure. The meals were fantastic and the accommodations were great, especially at the Eshama safari lodge. Thank you Klaus for an amazing trip and wonderful memories!

A safari experience that was organized, safe, family-friendly, and unforgettable.
I recently did a 4-day, 3-night safari with Engozi Safaris Uganda and it was truly one of the best trips I have ever taken. From the very beginning, their communication and professionalism stood out. They were extremely responsive on WhatsApp, answered every question clearly, and sent us a complete itinerary ahead of time. Each day, they updated us with timing, expectations, safety guidance, and if anything changed they always checked in to make sure we were comfortable with the adjustment.
Klaus and Jesse were friendly, patient, and attentive throughout the entire experience. They made sure we had water and drinks, help with our bags, and they chose great local food stops along the way. They interacted so well with my daughter and every activity allowed her to participate. I never felt like she was left out and that meant so much to me.
The trip itself was full in the best possible way. We did so much in those four days and still felt like there is so much more to see on a future visit. The lodges felt fairly priced for the experience. Rwakobo Rock had beautiful views and wonderful staff, and Buffalo Safari Lodge quickly became my favorite with spacious rooms and great wildlife sightings. We always felt safe. As long as we followed instructions around the animals, we were completely at ease. The vehicle was comfortable and well maintained and it was cleaned every night, so each morning felt like stepping into a new truck.
My favorite moment was the walking tour with the giraffes. I had never been that close to them before and watching my daughter experience it made the moment even more special. The evening and early morning game drives were incredible and I recommend adding a visit to the CTC Conservation Centre for a unique look at some of the animals and a chance to learn more about them.
Engozi Safaris Uganda delivered exceptional service, reliability, value for money, and an experience I will never forget. I would absolutely book with Klaus and Jesse again and next time I plan to add more days, so we can explore even more of Uganda. Outstanding Safari Planning, Hospitality, and Wildlife Experiences
I grew up in Uganda, yet I had never experienced the country the way I did with Engozi Safaris. From start to finish, they curated an exceptional journey that allowed me to see Uganda through fresh eyes. The team thoughtfully planned the trip while accommodating our specific requests, and we chose their all-inclusive package, which seamlessly covered transportation, accommodation, and meals over four days.
From the very beginning, the experience was first-class. They picked us up promptly, provided cold refreshments throughout the journey, and kept us perfectly on schedule. Our itinerary was full without ever feeling rushed, striking a thoughtful balance between engaging activities and ample time to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
We were picked up early in the morning from the outskirts of Kampala and stopped for breakfast in the city before embarking on a scenic six-hour drive to Lake Mburo. We arrived in time for lunch and a restful evening. Our stay at Rwakobo Rock Resort was truly mesmerizing. The resort offered stunning views and a secluded, authentic safari atmosphere, while still providing modern comforts that made the stay incredibly relaxing.
Our activities included a game drive and a walking trek that brought us impressively close to giraffes, an unforgettable experience. We also visited the Kitagata Hot Springs, which added a unique and rejuvenating element to the trip.
We then continued on to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we stayed at the luxurious Buffalo Lodge. The lodge’s location on the outskirts of the park allowed us to observe wildlife right from the property, including giraffes, elephants, and even hyenas. The boat cruise was one of the absolute highlights of the trip, as was the early-morning game drive, expertly narrated by one of our knowledgeable guides. We saw a wide variety of animals and gained a deeper appreciation for the richness of the park’s ecosystem.
We concluded our journey with a visit to CTC, where we experienced wildlife conservation in a domestic setting. Interacting with animals such as lions, feeding giraffes, and spending time with lemurs was something I never knew was possible in Uganda. It was both eye-opening and educational.
This trip was not only a wonderful vacation for our family, but also a continuous learning experience, especially for our young daughter. Reconnecting with nature has always been deeply rejuvenating for me, and this experience exceeded all expectations in that regard.
I fully intend to travel with Engozi Safaris again as we explore more of Uganda’s national parks in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a well-organized, enriching, and truly memorable safari experience.
