Liyu Ethiopia Tours made our visit to Ethiopia unforgettable! Yhun, the manager, was in constant communication with us before and during our trip, keeping us up-to-date with local conditions. We booked a trip to Wenchi Crater and 2 days in Gondar through Liyu.
The trip to Wenchi was incredible. Early in the morning, our guide Oli, and the driver, picked us up from our hotel in Addis Ababa, and drove us the 3.5ish hours to Wenchi. We spent the morning hiking through the crater lake, taking in the natural beauty—this is something Yhun made sure to include in our itinerary after we expressed our desire to focus more on Ethiopia's natural wonders. Oli was a fantastic guide: he was very knowledgeable, kind, and quite funny. We enjoyed a traditional coffee ceremony, boat ride, and lunch before returning to Addis Ababa.
We had a similarly fantastic experience in Gondar. Yhun arranged our transport from our hotel to the airport, and arranged for transport in Gondar (flight costs were on our own). Yhun is very well connected with guides across Ethiopia. In Gondar, he introduced us to Alex and Grum. Alex led us on an excellent hike through Kosoye viewpoint, and Grum was a wonderful guide to Gondar. Yhun also arranged for all our airport transfers, which was certainly a welcome benefit.
In short, Yhun made sure that all our needs and wishes were tended to and that we felt at home (and safe!) while visiting Ethiopia. The prices were fair and reasonable, and we would not hesitate to choose Liyu Ethiopia Tours for our future visits.

Bespoke Tram Building Day
We had an amazing team building day coordinated by Yhun and his team. We started in the morning with a short trek through part of the Entoto National Park and the a tour of the National Museum.
All arrangements were very efficient and well timed, communication before was timely and clear and the price was very affordable!
Yhun was an amazing guide with exceptional knowledge of the history of Ethiopia as well as current context. He was extremely flexible, easy going and had a great sense of humour.

Thank you for the hospitality
A friend who previously joined a trip with Yhun introduced him to me online. Yhun showed me around some interesting parts of Addis Ababa and invite me to a restaurant with very interesting food. He is also very knowledgeable and has a lot of resources. As I get to know Yhun, I feel Yhun is genuinely interested in showing the beauty of the country and providing top service, which is a totally different mentality than many larger local operators. I highly highly reccomend Liyu Ethiopia tours. I am a solo woman traveler and I let Yhun, the manager of the agency, arrange a 5-day tour in North Ethiopia for me. Everything worked like a swiss clock- I was awaited in every airport by experienced drivers and friendly, well-knowledged English speaking guides. Addis Ababa 1-day city tour & Danakil Depression 3-day tour
I was on a field mission with a couple of colleagues in Addis. Recommended by the hotel, we booked a one-day city tour on the last day of our trip, and I myself booked another three-day tour to Danakil Depression thereafter.
The one-day city tour, guided by Oli, was very informative. We went to the local market, Mount Entoto, and Tomoca coffee. They also tailored the tour to our needs such as meeting with our colleagues and shopping.
The three-day tour was operated by the Infinite Travel&Tours after we arrived in Semera. However, Yhun from Liyu has been actively communicating and coordinating all the travel details. The tour was conducted amidst very hot and challenging conditions, but the landscapes are 100% worth seeing. We got crazy about the power of nature from the volcanoes, the salt lake, and various landscapes sculpted by volcanic activities. Lastly, as a solo female traveller, I feel safe during the trip.

I had an amazing day trip to Lake Wenchi with Oli, Abraham, and our driver (apologies for missing his name). The pick-up was perfectly on time, and the entire itinerary was well-organised, allowing us to enjoy every moment without feeling rushed. The journey to the lake was smooth, and the scenery along the way was stunning. At Lake Wenchi, our local guide was very knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the area.
