Our tour operator for Maara was absolutely fantastic, professional, knowledgeable, and incredible.
We visited Masai Mara in June 2025, and it was an amazing experience. Our guide was outstanding; his knowledge, explanations, and support made the tour truly meaningful. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Amazing safari experience
We did an amazing 10-day safari across the main parks of Kenya. It has been an incredible experience, perfectly organized and executed by the cherish team. Francis, our guide for the entire experience, has a deep knowledge and a true passion for wildlife, as well as a profound respect for nature, which is something very special. It made the best out of our safari experience, 100% recommended!
Other highlights:
- Communication and service: fast, precise and on time. The communications and booking process has been very smooth and easy
- Sevice: the staff is very friendly and available, they take care of you from the airport and back

Ten day mind-blowing safari Kenya July 1 - 10
I am very happy to provide an honest and candid review of a private safari I took with Cherish Africa Safaris Limited from July 1 to July 10, 2025: Nairobi, Samburu, Nakuru, Naivasha, Maasi Mara, Amboseli, Nairobi. Based upon the proposal I received, I booked the trip. The proposal contained what I perceived as exaggerated descriptions. Just marketing. Nevertheless, I booked. To set the record straight, I was impressed by what I saw. Better than the brochure. Yes, Kenya is mind-blowingly beautiful and extremely popular especially in the month of July, the beginning of the dry season. I had been warned about the crowds. When someone spots a chetah, the word gets out and when you get there you share the event with ten other vehicles. Not good. Here is what Cherish got right and I do not know how they do it, somehow the most amazing things we saw, and we saw ALONE. I saw two male lions cuddling, yawning, and head butting ten feet away, fifteen elephants walking single file in front of our land rover, Wilde beast, rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes, hippos in abundance from the get-go. Accommodations were not five stars or luxurious, but they did not come with the luxurious price tag. If five stars are what you want plan to pay triple the price. There was an AC, but it is not necessary. Nights were cool. Nippy sometimes. I needed a sweater at night. The food (three meals a day included) was fine and healthy: the rooms nice with mosquito netting and fans with an authentic feel. The staff smiling, friendly and sweet. Everyone. I had a private safari. However, if you would like to travel with a group of friends, say two to six, you can really save money by spreading the cost of the land rover and guide over the number of guests.
I would like to end with two things. I will go on another safari with Cherish next year to various locations less well-known. Cherish knows of some gems out there. I will go only under one condition, that Bena is my tour guide. He is so knowledgeable. I accused him of having extrasensory perception (ESP). A week before my safari my asthma, which had gone into remission, came back and progressively worsened before the trip and I foolishly did nothing prior to traveling. On the safari my driver concerned about my asthma suggested that we stop at a pharmacy, where I got excellent care and treatment which held me over until I returned to the United States, July 11. 5 Stars.
Note: Get cash for tips. The cash tip may be an individual’s sole source of income. Do not tip with your currency’s coins. Worthless in Kenya and insulting. And would you tip a bell boy two quarters in the USA? What are people thinking?

Cherish Africa is a great organisation to book an unforgettable safari experience. Answering very fast and giving updates on the booking status all the time. Very kind staff who even took the time to meet up with us personally and seeing us off at the end of the safari.
As well we booked our safari about 3 weeks before coming to Kenia and Cherish made it possible to go on a affordable, amazing safari staying in absolutely stunning and welcoming lodges.
Very much appreciated our absolutely experienced guide Dungo (Daniel) which made the whole trip an amazing experience and adventure for us. He was very kind, patient and did his job with all his heart.
