Safari Does Not Disappoint
5/5

Last month my husband and I went with 2 friends on an 11 Day Best of Africa Safari. This was our 6th safari so we knew what to expect and the safari did not disappoint. Both of our guides, George in Kenya and Yuda in Tanzania, were friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. All the lodges and camps were comfortable and well maintainedabd the chefs ensured I had gluten-free options. We especially enjoyed our game drives in the Masai Mara and the Serengeti. Planning on another safari in the future.

Selected the best guides, appropriate lodging, well connected INTRA Aftrica flights.
5/5

From the time Tapestry of Africa met us at airport in Nairobi until we got to Moshi they were accommodating every step of the way. Our itinerary was well planned starting off with Nairobi National Park to get us a taste of what was to come. Bonevido our guide was welcoming and gave us valuable info of what we can expect. Service at all lodges we stayed was exceptional. The Kenyan and Tanzanian people were very kind and always smiling. I am sure the lodges selected were a big part of this. The food at all lodges was above par. Hot Air balloon ride in Masai Mara reserve was stunning to say the least. Enchipa lodge made is feel like we were in the middle of nowhere. Serena lodge in Serengeti and ELawan treetops were just epic. Our guide in Tanzania was one in nature with the animals. He could spot them a mile away. He was very patient in looking for animals. From watching the Cheetah head up on the hill and several minutes later attacked and killed an Impala. Joes driving was very considerate to us as passengers.(saved our backs from the rough roads). Value for the money with Tapestry was well below costs after talking to friends who have gone and are going. I highly recommend Tapestry of Africa for you Safari.

Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, land and the culture of the people.
5/5

Tapestry of Africa was the perfect choice for our family safari (2 adults and 2 teens). A trip like this succeeds because of the detailed planning done beforehand and the professional staff who carry out the itinerary. Every aspect of our trip was taken care of correctly so our experience unfolded without a hitch. Simply put- it was a carefully curated and perfectly orchestrated experience led by professionals. The safari experience as a whole well exceeded our expectations. The introduction zoom call and subsequent itinerary planning with Matt Jensen was very helpful. The itinerary he crafted included each aspect of the experience we requested. He built out the trip including additional parks/ experiences and proposed a fantastic itinerary within our budget and time constraints. The communication and logistics planning was excellent from Hilda and Albert. They were very prompt in their responses and clear/ concise with instructions. The suggested packing list was very helpful. Our reserved camps/lodges at the mid luxury level were well chosen for location and amenities. Generally they were all excellent with very friendly and attentive staff. Our Nairobi city tour guide Elisabeth was lovely, very well spoken and friendly. She took us on an excursion to visit the Giraffe Center and the Kobe Tough ceramic bead workshop. Highly Recommend!

Our Kenyan safari guide, Vincent, was incredible. As a Maasai, he had deep knowledge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, including its animals and their behavior as well as the geography and the culture of its people. He was punctual, conversational and energetic each day we spent with him. He clearly considered our safety while driving and guiding us through Kenya (Hells Gate, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park and the Maasai Mara National Reserve) showing us the big five and many additional animals. Vincent was a professional guide from the start to the Tanzanian border where he introduced us to our Tanzanian Guide, Tony.

Tony was fantastic. He led us through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire Park. Tony was very passionate about animal behavior and the land they inhibit. Before starting our safari with him, he described the three core gears/ drivers of animal behavior and how they are integral to the life cycle and the land they inhabit. This explanation was profound and shifted our perspective and therefore our experience. Each animal encounter we had with him was supported by a breath knowledge from small rare birds to the big five. He took care while driving making sure we were safe and comfortable during each game drive. We were fortunate to have a very special experience with Tony viewing the Great Migration at the Mara River. Tony was incredibly knowledgeable about the crossing, explaining this Natural Wonder of the World in detail.

Our trip included a SCUBA dive experience in Zanzibar booked through Tapestry of Africa. Our resort Breezes was a lovely 4-5 star experience. We appreciated Matt Jensen booking us at the only resort on Zanzibar with a PADI dive shop on site, per our request. This shop was very knowledgeable and professional.

This was an experience our family will remember forever. The seamless planning by Tapestry of Africa made for a very relaxing and effortless vacation. We highly recommend Matt Jensen and Tapestry of Africa.

Go to Kenya! Make memories, and a go with a private Tapestry of Africa tour. 5 stars is not enough.
5/5

Our family of four recently took a safari trip to Kenya with Tapestry of Africa. With an 11-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter, we had the most amazing experiences, this trip easily ranks in our top three best vacations ever.

We love to travel, and Tapestry truly outdid themselves by taking all the worry out of planning and preparing for such a big adventure. Thank you for all of your help, Matt, Albert,Hilda and Elizabeth. Also a very special thank you to the best safari guide in Kenya, Vincent! If there is an award for best tour guide in Kenya, he would have 20 trophies (he has been doing this for 20 years lol).

A Tapestry safari in Kenya is a private tour where you stay with the same guide for the entire trip. I'm convinced this is the way to go, unless you're traveling across multiple countries, I think you have to get a new guide when you cross a boarder. We absolutely loved the private experience, Vincent provided us with a wealth of details about each location and fascinating animal facts. Vincent is the AI of safaris!

I cannot recommend this trip highly enough, especially for families with young children. There's a quote I'm pretty sure is from a movie, but it rings so true: "We're just here to be memories for our kids." I promise you that going on a private safari in Kenya with Tapestry of Africa will create some of the most cherished memories for your children and your family.

A few tips:

We loved the glamping-style accommodations, particularly the Elephant Bedroom and The Cliff. They cost a bit more, but every penny was worth it.
If you can swing two nights at The Cliff, do it.
Lake Nakuru is smaller, but it's well worth a two-night stay, it was one of the nicest places we stayed during the entire trip.

Also watching Matts travel videos and meeting him in a Zoom is what sold us on using Tapestry, I could feel the care that he and everyone i worked with at the company. They wanted to do anything possible to help you be safe and have a great time.

Tapestry of Africa surpassed my expectations in every way.
5/5

I am 75 years old and this trip to Kenya was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Not only were my many questions answered with additional information, the response came back immediately! I felt as if I was their only client! Matt, Albert and Hilda were a wealth of assistance and information. Traveling with two friends, we all had difficulty in obtaining our visas. Hilda magically made it happen. Matt made me feel like I was a friend, not a client. Albert answered every logistical question with ample information and a welcoming spirit. Meeting other staff members upon arrival (Cleah and Elizabeth) was absolutely delightful! This company has assembled a very strong team of kind, efficient and extremely dedicated individuals. Every request made, including changing accommodations as well as an uncomfortable mattress (!!) was promptly taken care of! They even made sure I had a step-stool to climb into the vehicle!
The pacing was perfect, packing many adventures into the day but always being reminded that we had the option to take a break if needed. We were also presented with optional activities such as a hot air balloon flight and visiting a Maasai village. Both were incredible experiences!
Our group had the pleasure of having Matt lead the trip. His evening sessions were so informative and inspiring to me - and his love of Africa is contagious!
The driver/guides were incredibly knowledgeable, kind and entertaining. They made certain that we saw every animal that we came to Kenya to see and we felt very confident in their driving skills, even when rushing to a site where a lion was spotted!!
We were happy with both the very fair pricing and the itinerary for this tour. The company accommodated our wish to extend for several days and took care of every aspect of the extension. When we wanted to add some last minute excursions in Nairobi, Albert himself was the tour guide!
The Tapestry of Africa family goes above and beyond in every way. We could not be happier with this most amazing trip and company. Important fact: all proceeds past expenses are used to build medical facilities in East Africa. When I was told about this mission, there was no question which tour company we would choose. Tapestry of Africa is the best!!

Trip of a Lifetime!
5/5

We just returned home and are still processing all of the wonderful experiences we had. We went to Kenya and Tanzania on safari and Zanzibar for a little R&R. Kim (Kenya) and Vincent (Tanzania) were our guides. They were so knowledgeable about the animals, birds, and country- we learned a lot!- and communicated with other guides in the area so they knew where to go when hard to find animals were spotted.

Tapestry of Africa is a great travel company to work with. They were very helpful and responsive the whole time and we loved that their profits went toward dental mission clinics. Our accommodations were excellent and the service at the camps was top notch.

I highly recommend Tapestry to anyone planning to go on safari!

A truly unforgettable journey through Kenya and Tanzania
5/5

We recently had the pleasure of travelling to Kenya and Tanzania with Tapestry of Africa, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.
From start to finish, the whole trip was very professionally organised, with everything running smoothly and according to plan. The guides and drivers were excellent — not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but also genuinely friendly, kind and pleasant people who made our experience even more enjoyable.
The accommodations throughout the trip were wonderful, with beautiful locations, great service and a level of comfort that made each stay special.
We were truly impressed by the attention to detail and the care that went into organising our safari. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would happily recommend Tapestry of Africa to anyone looking to explore Kenya and Tanzania.
Thank you to the whole team for helping make our trip so memorable! 🐘🦁🌍

Excellent safari itinerary. Balloon ride in Maasai Mara was magical. We loved the camps which were truly luxurious, unique, and matching the environment. They had a different feeling with personalized attention by staff in a smaller area that you don't get at a large lodge. Ngorongoro was unique but all parks were great with different flavors and landscape. I only had one insect bite during 12 days which is much less than anywhere else I travel although it was during the dry season.

Highest level of service and attention to detail in the industry period.
5/5

I have traveled with many tour companies and none have come close to matching the experience I had with Tapestry of Africa. Almost immediate response to every question. 5 star support through the entire trip. All of the staff from Mat Jenkins the owner to the drivers and office staff strive for excellence. I did extensive research trying to pick a tour company for my first safari and I don’t believe I could have found a better option. The accommodations and safari vehicles were all superb. If you are trying to find a safari company to travel with you will never do better and will be hard to match.

Africa beyond our wildest dreams
5/5

We just returned from an amazing trip with Tapestry Of Africa on an 11 day safari through Kenya and then flying into Zimbabwe to view Victoria Falls, and onto Botswana for an incredible river safari. Matt Jensen, the owner of Tapestry Of Africa accompanied us on the first part of our journey and made the experience so personal and inviting. Our accommodations were top notch and our guides were phenomenal. We stayed at both lodges and tent camps though my husband and I did prefer the tent camp experience. Many of our camps had visible watering holes where animals would come in throughout the day and evening for viewing. Each park we went to was a different experience and the trip was planned down to every detail. I cannot say enough about the seamlessness of this trip. This company really cares and they have a wonderful Philanthropy attached to the company. Be assured, however, you plan your trip into Africa you will be taken care of every step along the way with Tapestry Of Africa.
