Definitely a holiday of a lifetime!!!!!!
5/5

So, when the bestie and I decided to book our holiday of a lifetime, we had no idea where to start, or even what to expect on a Safari. We could have picked any company out of hundreds, but oh, thank goodness we chose Wild Planet Safari!!
From the minute Ryan collected us from the Jo’burg airport our adventure began. The first night was spent in a lovely B & B a short drive from the airport then it was up early the next day for a 7hr drive across to Kruger. For the entire 6 days all of our needs were catered for and all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. And when I say ‘our needs’ I mean it. Apart from us both being veggies, my travelling companion is disabled with extremely limited mobility - oh and lots of mobility aids! But throughout our trip, Ryan and his little helper Lungisani coped admirably. Nothing was too much trouble and they quickly began to anticipate when and where help would be needed - from opening car doors to unloading scooters. Our meals were superb, loads of freshly prepared fruit & veg dishes and BBQ’s in the evenings. And they even do the washing up!
Every day was packed full of anticipation and excitement, and what Ryan doesn’t know about animals simply isn’t worth knowing. His determination for us to see the Big 5 paid off and we were able to tick each animal off the list – and many more. During our time together Ryan shared many amusing stories with us of his previous animal encounters, explained the safari ‘etiquette’ and we also learned a little about the life of young Lungisani.
It was sad to be dropped back in Joburg for the final night, we had all become good friends and it was with a heavy heart that we had to hug the big guy Ryan goodbye, knowing that he was off to do it all again with is next lucky people the next day.
Ryan, you are amazing, totally dedicated to your work and long may it continue. Lungisani, you will make a terrific guide yourself one day and maybe take us yourself! Must also mention the excellent communications from Thale during the planning of our trip and cuddles to little Felix.
Oh, and congratulations to you both, Mr & Mrs Ker!

An awesome experience - and don't let a disability put you off going on safari with Wild Planet!
5/5

Out of all the companies offering guided safaris in South Africa I'm so glad we chose Wild Planet Safari.
From the minute Ryan picked us up from Jo'burg airport to when we were dropped off everything was taken care of and we were very well looked after - that made the trip for me as I am disabled with limited mobility and did need extra help, which was offered with no fuss and before I even asked for it. Somehow Ryan and Lungisani knew what I required. Being a private tour I didn't feel I was holding anyone up - apart from my travelling buddy! - and there was plenty of space in the van for my mobility scooter and wheelchair.

Every drive - and we did many on our 6 day tour - was full of fantastic wildlife. We saw the Big 5 and so much more. Ryan's passion for what he does so well is infectious, and his knowledge of the wildlife, and Africa, is incredible; couple that with his and Lungisani's spotting skills and it makes for an amazing experience.

Our bungalow accommodation was very comfortable, clean and spacious, and every meal they prepared was fresh, healthy and delicious. We didn't have to lift a finger.

I can't fault anything about our trip - including our communication with Thale which was efficient and prompt - and don't let a disability put you off going on safari - just make sure you book direct with Wild Planet Safari.

Fantastic in every way.
5/5

My husband and I wanted to have a "real" safari experience. We wanted a more personalized trip.
Wild Planet Safari offers you just that. In a private car , Ryan Kerr took us step by step on this wonderful journey while sharing with us all his knowledge about the animals and the African way of life. Our schedule was flexible
and at times he and his helper cooked us a breakfast in the most beautiful and picturesque places.
Ryan took care of us like we were his family, he is warm, kind, extremely organized and someone who you want to be friends with. I called him our own "African Crocodile Dundee"
A real fantastic trip. Next year wenare planing a family trip with Wild Planet Safari for our children and grandchildren.

An Awesome Family Adventure!
5/5

My family had the most wonderful safari in October 2015. We are a family of 5 with boys aged 11, 9 and 6 and it was a fabulous experience for all of us.

Our itinerary was based on the 14 Day Wild Planet Family Safari with additional days spent with family along the way. All organisation and bookings were done by Ryan and Thale, which was awesome.

Coming from Australia, we take for safety for granted and just before leaving I admit I was nervous about taking the family to South Africa. From start to finish, however, we felt safe and well-looked after. I appreciated having a local to drive us around and pass on his knowledge about the country. We travelled around 4000km and every day there was so much to see and do. The van was spacious and comfortable and good for kids. The boys like to be active and are not always patient and quiet but the game drives were designed to suit and the excitement of being in Africa and the amazing wildlife had everyone spellbound. Accommodation was suited to the family and better than we had anticipated; swimming pools in most places we stayed were great for expending energy after a game viewing drive.

Ryan’s knowledge of the country and of the animals was incredible, his assistant Lungisani was great with the boys and lots of fun.

Highlights were
- Game viewing. Managed to see the big five but we learned about all creatures large and small, which had the boys fascinated
- Curio shops along the way for traditional African crafts
- Impromptu Zulu dancing after dinner in Hluhluwe
- uShaka Marine World in Durban - extreme water slides for a change of scene
- The Drakensburg Mountains

We'd be happy for all of our holidays to be African safaris and will definitely choose Wild Planet Safari for our next one. We can recommend Wild Planet Safari for an excellent family adventure!

wonderful experience, with personalized service
5/5

My wife and I had a wonderful four day safari in Kruger National Park with Wild Planet Safari. All the pre - safari arrangements were easy to do. Ryan and Lungisani met us at our hotel at the Tambo airport and drove us to Kruger. We stayed in two camps and were well taken care of with excellent meals cooked by the team every night. Ryan's knowledge of wildlife, and Lungisani's eagle eye to spot wildlife really enhanced our experience. Highly recommended!

Excellent and knowledgeable guides enabled perfect viewing of the Big 5
4/5

Communication and service were great, and overall enjoyed our experience. Ultimately everyone's goal is to see the big 5, and we saw them all and more thanks to the determination and expertise of our guides. They understood the tricks and necessities to navigate the park at the right time as well as the right places to see the different wildlife, while avoiding super crowded areas. Certain services, such as walk-about and night drive, are not allowed by private guides within Kruger - but Ryan arranged these tours on our behalf with the in-house park rangers.

Accommodations were exactly as expected - however, we were completely blow away and happily surprised by the additional hospitality when our guides prepared our meals the entire time we were in the park.

The overall logistics were convenient and helpful. They picked us up in Jo-burg, transporting us all the way to Kruger National Park. The drive and scenery and additional information along the journey were wonderful. They also drove us back to Jo-burg and dropped us off at the airport with plenty of time to catch our flight.

One downside was being in an enclosed vehicle the whole time, rather than the perceived experience of "open vehicle safari"; however, the enclosed vehicle enabled them to provide the Jo-Burg pick up and drop off, so that was a trade-off we proactively chose. Ultimately, the enclosed vehicle did not prohibit our views nor the overall experience of the safari.

We were very happy with our experience and would recommend to others looking for a great safari experience within the national park.
