Awesome service
I am so glad I came across Tilman on this website. They were AMAZING! We aimed to spend four nights to climb Mt Kenya. In the end my youngest daughter couldn’t acclimatise and I felt super safe with their care and oxygen testing. It meant that two of us had the opportunity to summit, if we did the climb in one day. Our guide Anthony and Tilman lead Leonard made it possible and we are super grateful to them.
The Camp team were awesome, food fabulous (three courses each evening) and when we got wet, they dried all our kit around a camp fire.
We climbed from Lake Ellis and it is so beautiful.

An Unforgettable Kenya Experience with Tilman Safaris – Highly Recommended!
We spent an incredible few weeks in Kenya in July with Tilman Safaris, and we can wholeheartedly recommend them.
One of the highlights of our trip was our trek up Mount Kenya, which my 17year old son and I did together. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, we were not able to reach the summit. However, what we experienced along the way was incredibly special. Our guide Leonard and his entire team took exceptional care of us and always put our health and safety first. They were incredibly attentive, supportive, and caring throughout the entire trek. We always felt safe and in very good hands.
The team at the office also deserves special praise. Even from a distance, they were able to reorganize our trekking trip quickly and without any complications. Alternative arrangements, such as hotel bookings, were organized on the very same day. Communication was always fast, friendly, and reliable.
Although we unfortunately did not reach our original goal on Mount Kenya, we still look back on the experience with great happiness and gratitude. We were genuinely glad that we chose Tilman Safaris for this adventure.
In addition to Mount Kenya, we also booked a safari through Tsavo East and Tsavo West with Tilman Safaris. Our guide Eric was fantastic. He showed us the incredible wildlife and landscapes, explained so many interesting things, and shared his extensive knowledge with us. Beyond that, we had many personal and enjoyable conversations, which created a very relaxed and trusting atmosphere. It made the safari feel much more personal and special.
We would also like to give a very special thank you to Charles, who took care of the overall organization and made sure that everything ran smoothly. And of course, a huge thank you to Leonard and his entire team for taking such great care of us on Mount Kenya.
Another thing we really appreciated was the flexibility of Tilman Safaris. We were able to arrange several smaller trips and excursions from Diani Beach, sometimes just one day in advance. Everything was handled quickly and without any problems. Communication via WhatsApp worked perfectly throughout our entire trip.
And finally, the value for money is excellent. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the organization, service, guides, and personal attention we received.
All in all, it was awonderful and unforgettable trip through Kenya. We always felt safe, welcome, and very well looked after.

They were wonderfully attentive, friendly, funny and patient.
It was a fantastic experience to spend the day at Mount Kenya with Leonard. The booking through Charles at the office went smoothly, only a day before. It was very good value for money. And Leonard went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and tried to answer all our questions, even the most unusual ones about birds, which we were especially interested in. Thank you for a very nice day together!

Excellent Mount Kenya trekking with Tilman
We had a really great experiencie with Tilman guys at Mount Kenya. We did the 4day/3night Sirimon-Naro Moru route. I think they give a better and fair price than other agencies for an excellent service. Also they don't overweight porters, they have a limit of 10-15kg while other companies totally overweight porters with several bags. Lenan was a great guide, explaining about the route, animals and plants. He was careful about the pace and altitude risks. The owner Charles was very helpful with transport and accommodation arrangements. Easy communication on whatsapp. They also rent equipment like sleeping bags and others. If you go to Mount Kenya is worth at least checking with them.

We had a great and successful trip up Mount Kenya with Tilman Safari. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough enough, Charles and his team were fantastic from the very first enquiry to dropping us back to our hotel in Nairobi. Our guide Leonard was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot during our 4 day trip (whilst also taking great photos from the summit of Mount Kenya). The food during the trip was excellent with a great variety and the entire team were extremely friendly.

Amazing 5-day Mt. Kenya Trek – Highly Recommended!
We had an incredible time on our 5-day hike (Chogoria - Sirimon route). From the very beginning, the communication with Charles was super friendly and smooth, he answered all our questions very quickly.
On the mountain, we were accompanied by an amazing local team of five. Everything was perfectly planned out and the team was always on time, which we really appreciated. Our guide, Leonard, was amazing; he knows practically every plant and animal species on the mountain and we always felt in very good hands with him.
Our cook, George, was always smiling and the food was excellent. They really make sure you eat enough and that the meals are right for the high altitude. A special shout-out to Nelson, who looked after us so well at every camp and all the other porters, who did an amazing job as well.
A huge highlight for us was the Mackinder Valley between Shipton's and Old Moses. The landscape is just stunning. The views and the giant plants there are something you have to see for yourself, very unique nature.
By booking with them, you’re supporting a local, truly hardworking team rather than a big travel agency. All in all, it was an amazing experience and we gained so much from this trip. We would definitely do it again!
