A varied and interessting journey with many encounters with animals and people
5/5

In search of a different adventure in Africa , we came across the "Expedition Shoebill ". The description caught our interest and because we knew the organizer and guide Daniel Schreiner already from previous trips here, we took the opportunity to visit some of the not so well-known national parks and attractions in Zambia and Tanzania with him.

The route proved to be a very interesting and varied. We experienced small and large towns, vast plains, endless Miomboforests and high mountains, did nice walks, saw geological features and visited colorful markets. On extensive game drives we saw countless animals.

All the visited the lodges were comfortable, clean and quiet. The camps were mostly at very nice location, clean and with one exception also very quiet. The equipment of the camps varied from comfortable to very simple, and the nights we spent in the middle of Ruaha National Park completely alone in a very simple camp, are among our best memories.

Our tent was well maintained, clean and big enough , and - more important - very easy to set up and to take down. We did not feel anything through the thick comfortable foam mattresses which gave us a good night sleep.

The food was tasty and varied. We got to know unfamiliar vegetables and cooking styles and marveled again and again about Daniel how he managed to cook our dinner on a tiny charcoal stove in 3 pots.
The kitchen was like the rest of the equipment very well thought through and it really lacked nothing .

The vehicle was comfortable and reliable. We experienced our first trip to Africa without any car breakdown, which is certainly also due to Daniel's prudent driving. We were missing some shelves or bags to store things such as cameras, binoculars, guide books, glasses, etc. , especially during the game drives to store them handy but safe.

The trip was very well thought out and organized. Despite some very bad roads and long travel times we reached all stages within the targeted time period. The experience of the always very time consuming border crossing in Africa went smoothly thanks to Daniel's organization.

Our guide brought us closer to country and people with his tales and stories. He never got tired to look for interessting animals on our long game drives and fascinated us with his good eyes and his broad knowledge of the fauna, especially the birds and their calls.
Daniel patiently answered all questions and made, if nessecary, adjustments to the daily routine.

Overall, it was an exhausting but beautiful and interesting journey with a good price - performance ratio.
Thank you, Daniel ! We hope that we will do another safari together soon.

Wonderful safari tour!
5/5

Daniel is very responsive and helpful. He accommodated many of our requests, much appreciated. And Croc Valley camp was very beyond our expectation. We stayed in the luxury tents. The attached bathroom was huge! The tents were right by the river, where we could spot hippos.
We had private game drives with James. Saw lions and leopard on our first drive!
Overall, it was a wonderful tour with Zamsato!

Totally loved my Safari with Zamsato, can't wait to go back to see more.
5/5

As a single traveler it’s always difficult to go on these types of excursions on your own, but Daniel (owner of Zamsato) was a great guide and very easy to get along with. He took care of every detail of the safari and it was all meticulously planned. Daniel also has great knowledge of the habitat and wildlife ranging from the Elephants to the insects, and everything in between. I visited strait after the rains, so there was lush growth hiding the game, but Daniel still spots and points them out and he was far quicker with his camera than I was, so nothing was missed.

I did not know Zamsato could be that flexible when I booked and this was the best surprise during my holiday. Daniel is very knowledgeable about Zambia and some other African countries, wildlife, history... I really enjoyed the 2 weeks and will come back. I know I will visit exactly what I want next time and even realise my dream, I will just ask for it and follow the advices I have been given on that tour.

fantastic safari, big adventure and a lot of fun with Daniel
5/5

It was our first time traveling trough Africa and we trusted absolutely in Daniel´s experiance and plan. The visited places in Zambia and Malawi were great and we had the Feeling of beeing alone with the wildlife. Daniel found every animal and it didn´t matter where it tryed to hid. The visited lodges and tent camps were perfectly choosen and we get the best value for money. Communication and Service was very well done by Daniel, and his cooking abilities are very tasty. Because of the sickness of our son, some changes of the traveling plan were neccessary and Daniel coped them very well. It was a great benefit for us, that our guide Daniel speaks German especially for the german names of the animals. Our family is absolutely conviced, that we will go to Africa again with Daniel.

Had an amazing time!
5/5

After spending a while looking for a safari in Zambia, within our budget, we came across Zamsato Safaris and Daniel and what a wonderful time we had! Right from the start Daniel answered my many questions and came up with the best safari plan for us - the 4 day South Luangwa safari. Daniel picked us up in Lusaka and we drove to South Luangwa. After a fairly long drive, we were shocked by how awesome Croc Valley camp was, how close it was to the river and that the animals are free to roam through the camp. I don't think we could have stayed somewhere nicer, great pick Daniel! The early mornings were so worth it for the morning game drives with Boatu. All our meals were made by Jonathan and they were outstanding, thank you. I couldn't list all the animals we saw in South Luangwa but some highlights were the African wild dogs, African fish owl and lots of elephants and hippos! Having never been on a safari before we didn't know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed the experience and appreciated Daniels wealth of knowledge. Not only does Daniel know an awful lot about wildlife, he also knows a lot about the communities and villages within Zambia which made for interesting discussions in the car. We enjoyed the trip so much that within 2 days of leaving Daniel in Livingstone, we had booked to go on his Chobe Day Trip tour! Daniel picked us up at our accommodation and helped us through the border control at Kazungula. Botswana is beautiful and even before we reached Chobe, we had seen several elephants at the side of the road! We went on a 3 hour Chobe river safari which was amazing. Being in a small boat we were able to get us close to the islands and river bank and be only a few meters away from the animals and birds which was incredible. We saw a whole range of bird species and got some cracking close up pictures of Kingfishers among others. We then had a buffet lunch at Chobe River Lodge and went out for an afternoon game drive.
Overall, my partner and I had a wonderful time on our 2 safaris with Zamsato and couldn't fault anything. Daniel your knowledge is incredible and hopefully we can tour again in the future. Thank you.

Active communication. They assured that we get everything we need for the family.
5/5

In mid-June 2018 our family - two adults and 9 and 8 years old children - joined the Chobe Overnight safari.

Booking and pre-safari arrangements worked fine and we got all the time relevant status information and guidance what to pack etc.

The journey started when Zamsato driver picked us from our hotel at the agreed time. He took us to border crossing, from where we continued across the river. At the other side another person were waiting for us and the drive with safari vehicle started.

We saw lion, leopard, elephant, hippo, giragge, etc. Just rhino and hyeena kept out of our eyesight. At Chobe you can see some animals almost all of the time - we had hardly any time just dricing around. Mid-June seemed to be good time to visit the park. Just notice, that night can be cold. Luckilyin the car we had blankets in our use.

We highly recommed to spend the night in the park. Dining table under the dark sky was great experience. Facilities (tents) were good and service excellent.

Excelent Service!
5/5

Daniel (Zamsato) provided an excellent service. Helped me to plan my trip, tailored to my needs and preferences, provided pretty candid advice regarding options and activities, and he always provides immediate feedback to your questions. His choice of Croc Valley Camp in Southern Luangwa was excellent, and his advice on Rhino safari just perfect. Loved our trip to Zambia!
Thanks Daniel !

Zamsato provided excellent touring and guiding of several National Parks in Zambia.
5/5

I traveled on one month road trip in Zambia, visiting several National Parks (NP). We focused primarily on Liuwa Plain NP, Kafue NP and South Luangwa NP. Our guide from Zamsato, Daniel, was superb driver, navigator, game-spotter, cook and organizer. Daniel is a Zambian resident and knows the country and its roads, wildlife, parks, lodges and campgrounds very well. He is respected as one of Zambia’s best overall guides and tour operators. Highly recommended.
