Amazing private safaris!
5/5

My father and I booked private safaris in South Africa with Moriti Private Safaris. They were excellent. Our guide Edward was extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. I would recommend booking a private safari as you can go and see what you want, when you want. It's really not much more in cost and it's worth the price difference. I would definitely recommend Moriti to anyone. We had an amazing time!

Unforgettable 5 days in Kruger
5/5

We booked a 5-day private safari in Kruger National Park and Klaserie Private Reserve, for which we had an amazing time thanks to Shaun and his team. Every single aspect of our safari was well planned and seamlessly executed. We left Kruger with unforgettable experiences largely because they felt so genuine and personal.

Communication with Shaun from the start was easy; he’s quick to respond, flexible, and in general very helpful. Shaun really cares about his clients having the best possible all-round experience and will take the time to personalize your safari according to your needs, as he did so well with us.

Our Moriti guide Edward was fantastic, as were our hosts and staff in Klaserie. The Nzumba lodge is luxurious and by far our favourite accommodation during our time in Kruger. It’s beautifully well-maintained and provides guests with a clear view of a watering hole right next to the property. Food at the lodge was extremely delicious and plentiful. Vegetarians and vegans certainly won’t go hungry here!

The game viewing was incredible!! We saw more than we could have ever imagined, some highlights include the Big Five, white lion, wild dogs, a saddle-billed stork, and playful hyena cubs. Our game drives never felt rushed and our daily schedule was quite flexible.

Overall, the quality of service, accommodations, and meals we received from Shaun and his team were exceptional, and of great value. We would absolutely book with Moriti Private Safaris again!

Exceptional once in a lifetime family experience with Moriti Safaris
5/5

Shaun Taylor from Moriti Private Safaris promised us the trip of a lifetime and boy, did he deliver! We were not clients, we were part of his family and he organised amazing sightings every single day (Not just the Big 5, but also massive shongololo’s and WOW, were they impressive).

A family of 4, with a 7 and a 4 year old have returned home dreaming of bush baby’s, black mamba’s and hyena pup’s all thanks to Shaun’s amazing patience, imagination and amazing tracking skills. The kids are now checking out every single paw print in the snow to ensure that no lion, hippopotamus, hyena or leopard have escaped from the local zoo and are running wild in our village.

Shaun took the time to listen to each and every question from our inquisitive children and give them a satisfactory answer, not hesitating to go the extra mile and even pick up hyena excrements to explain exactly why it is as white as it is. The whole family is now fully capable of spending a week in the bush using the survival guides gained from Shaun’s insight, whether it be following the zebra’s for water, using a simple bush to “hide” when required or simply listening to the animals sounds and watching how they act…

Shaun was an inspiration to all of us based upon his general knowledge, his patience and his motivation to make sure that we had the best time ever. We can only recommend Sean for his baby sitting abilities, that he proved to us when driving off with the kids after dropping us off for a surprise Valentine’s day drink that he had organised in the middle of the bush, leaving us the opportunity to take in everything that the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and the Walkers River Camp had to offer (a special thanks to Charles and Shirell for keeping us safe).

From day 1, Shaun made us feel welcome and comfortable in his beautiful country. We were treated amazingly at each and every place that Moriti Safaris booked for us. Unlike all of the other quotations that we received, Moriti asked us exactly what we wanted to do and offered us a perfect tailor-made recommendation based upon our expectations: it was a real private safari where you can do what you want when you want! Even during the safari, Sean was flexible and did his upmost to convene for our requirements, be it simply organising vegetarian food of adapting a complete day based upon the wildlife that we wanted to see or if the kids wanted a Lalapanzi.

Every single day was an adventure: new experiences with an amazing amount of fauna and flora, lions every single day, a traditional succulent Braai with perfectly cooked boerewors accompanied by a flavourful “the chocolate block” bottle of wine, watching the sunsets in the bush with a traditional Castle beer and some crisps, then teaching Shaun how to play UNO and Dobble/Spot it! Getting sanded in with the Vito was simply funny as we watched how Shaun, very relaxed, was able to find help to get us out. The amazing relaxed “now now” few days that we spent with Shaun and Moriti Safaris will stay with us for a lifetime: thank you Shaun, you are an amazing person.

We can only recommend Moriti Safaris, as I have said: An exceptional once in a lifetime family experience.

Enjoy your Vibram 5 Fingers Shaun!

Amazing Safari with Moriti Private Safaris
5/5

We just returned from an absolutely amazing and memorable Safari with Shaun at Moriti Private Safaris. We saw the Big 5 in both Kruger National Park and the Klaserie Private Reserve along with many, many other animals, including the very rare Sable Antelope and wild dogs at Kruger. On several safari drives, Shaun proved himself to be an incredible and thoroughly knowledgeable tracker. He was able to track and find a leopard and several lions to find us the perfect viewing angles while other safari guides struggled for a sighting. The accommodations at both Kruger Park Lodge and Nyeleti at Klaserie Private Reserve were fantastic. At the Kruger Lodge, we saw Hippo, Nyala, and Impala practically in our back yard. At the Klaserie Nyeleti guest house, we were surrounded by Klipspringers, Warthogs, Nyala, Impala, Kudu, and Baboons on the grounds. We also saw a Leopard they liked to call Princess stroll by us at night while we were sitting by the campfire. All the while, we were confident that we were safe both inside camp and while on safari because of Shaun’s incredible knowledge of the animals and their behavior. Shaun additionally arranged for a wonderful close-up with the elephants at the elephant encounter.

We also had an amazing personal chef throughout our stay. Chef Lindsay prepared outstanding gourmet meals along with safari lunch and breakfast packs so we could maximize our time in the bush with the animals. We also had an authentic and delicious South African Braai (barbecue) cooked by Shaun and Lindsay. At the Klaserie Private Reserve, we enjoyed the company of Shaun’s fantastic tracker, Vusi, who assisted in finding animals on the morning and evening safari drives. We spotted dozens of animals and even did a safari walk to see the Rhino up close.

Just about every time we suggested an animal we were interested in seeing, Shaun was able to track and find the animal on the safari drive. Though you cannot guarantee to see the animals that you want as they are living in the wild and on the roam for food, we were so fortunate with Shaun’s amazing skills and a bit of luck to see an amazing amount. I was amazed to learn that part of the tracking is watching and listening to the other animals around who are good tattletales of the hunters such as the leopard and lions by using specific sounds and by the way they will act in an unusual way and stare in the direction of the danger. The evening sundowners, where Shaun would take us to the perfect place to relax, have snacks, and watch the sunset in the South African bush, were also amazing.

I highly recommend to anyone considering a trip to South Africa to book a safari with Moriti Private Safaris. I travel extensively and have been to 6 of the 7 continents and can honestly say that this was most definitely the most amazing and memorable experiences of a lifetime.

Outstanding experiences with outstanding people
5/5

Following our safari with Moriti Private Safaris, we have returned to Australia with 3 enthused and animated teenagers who are all dreaming of return visits. Maurice and I first met Shaun two years ago on our own trip, so this trip in August was our second with him. It was a family holiday which included Shaun and all his staff in the Family.

Moriti Private Safaris provide outstanding quality of service and accommodation for an incredibly affordable price so we could share this wonderful experience with our 12, 14 and 16 year olds. Our trip was based on the 9 day Kruger tour, but tweaked to our wishes (an extra night at Kruger and the private game reserve). He is amazing with adults and kids, and has a broad knowledge and keen interest in learning at every opportunity with which he inspires everyone else to learn.

I would not hesitate to recommend Moriti Private Safaris to anyone looking for a professional private safari of outstanding quality.

Our Moriti Private Safari was the MOST STUNNING adventure in my life's travel experiences.
5/5

Shaun's communication and attention to detail made our planning the Safari almost an effortless process. He kept in touch with information and updates and setup a safe internet option for payment. The lodge he selected as our home based was beautiful and comfortable. With just three of us in our little group we enjoyed Shaun as our guide and driver and an amazing chef who Shaun arranged to prepare delicious meals. As a main goal of our trip was photography, Shaun also added a wildlife photographer to his team so we had the benefit of truly one on one, in the moment teaching and coaching as we sighted animals. Shaun is skilled at tracking animals but we also had a local tracker riding on the front of our vehicle. With all this support, knowledge and skill of the entire team, how can one not look forward to every minute of each day!

The schedule for us a hobby photographers was perfect. We went out for several hours pre dawn and then again for sunset and early evening. Shaun is a determined tracker. On one day in particular there was a sighting of a leopard with a kill in a tree on a nearby property. Shaun put heroic effort into finding the leopard in an area that he wasn't as familiar with and we were able to spend about 45 minutes photographing the scene with no other safari trucks because they had to get back to their lodges at a particular time for breakfast. That is the beauty of a private safari where you time is your own.

Shaun always stopped for morning and evening break with beverages and snacks that made it very special to get out of the vehicle and enjoy the camaraderie of our group. After a few days together, it felt like we were with a group of old friends. Shaun and his team are very knowledgeable about wildlife, their behavior, identification of tracks, scat, flora, fauna and much more. Most importantly, safety is his prime consideration. We even went on a walking tour from our lodge to arrive at a beautiful sunset with a bonfire and wine. I was hesitant to go on the walk but Shaun has a way of putting you at ease because of his safety skills.

I could go on and on describing the special touches like a surprise full breakfast waiting for us at a picnic table setup "in the field" or the fireside chats after dinner but I think you get the idea of how amazing this Moriti tour was. Give yourself a gift and schedule a safari with Moriti!

Moriti Private Safaris ensured that the "trip of a lifetime" really was the TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
5/5

Shaun is the consumate professional. His planning and communication was excellent, and eliminated any concerns of booking a trip over the Internet. I saw his TripAdvisor ratings and reached out with an inquiry. Shaun promptly responded and we bagan discussing what our desires were, and what his recommendations were to achieve our goals. We were a small group (3 people), but we received the same attention as a larger group would have received. Our primary goal was photography. Shaun arranged for an amazing professional photographer to accompany us, and we all learned many new techniques, and came away with some amazing photos.

What differentiate Shaun and Moriti Private Safaris from other bush guides is the word "Private." Our party had the entire game lodge to ourselves. Shaun provides his own chef. The food was amazing, and we did not go hungry. This also allows for more flexibility when out on game drives. We didn't have to return for a meal, based on the lodge itinerary. One morning we stayed out because we were viewing a leopard with a kill. The other lodges missed this action, because they had to be back for breakfast. Our lodge was a fantastic experience with animals walking the grounds and just outside the perimeter in a riverbed. The accomodations were very comfortable and clean. Very surprising, since we were out in the bush.

The game tours were exceptional and Shaun has an encyclopedic knowledge of animals and birds. He took the time to explain tracks and scat. Shaun also shared his knowledge of life in the bush for animals and how they interact and rely upon one another. We even had the opportunity to take a stroll through the bush, ending on a hill, to watch a stunning African Sunset and enjoy snacks and wine!! What a fantastic memeory for our final evening in the bush.

I cannot encourage others enough, to book a trip through Moriti Private Safaris. I have already shared Shaun's name and contact information with friends and co-workers. And I am looking forward to another trip, sometime in the future.

Fascinating, fun, fabulous and worry-free.
5/5

I can't imagine a better safari experience. Moriti took wonderful care of us, with terrific accommodations, delicious food and completely personalized service. More important, our outings into Kruger National Park were a delight: exciting, entertaining, informative, moving and memorable. Shaun is a great guide, team-leader, social director and educator all rolled-up into one. He can even summon-up a terrific Gin and Tonic in the wilderness sunset. He attended to us, our comforts and every small detail with energy and infectious enthusiasm.
