African Crested Rat Safaris exceeded my expectations in every way. From my first contact with this company and throughout our journey, Pauline was not only professional and dedicated to providing the best experience possible, but also was caring and concerned that we were comfortable and happy during every moment of our travels in Africa!!! During the trip planning process, anytime we had questions, Pauline responded within hours! During our travels, she checked on us frequently, and we were able to contact her anytime we needed anything at all. Pauline was able to organize everything we needed for the countries we wanted to visit which were Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya! It was so nice to deal with one company that could handle everything, and in such a professional and personal, loving manner. Pauline ensured that she knew who our guides/drivers were so that we were able to get the most safe and genuine experience possible. She was ideal to plan our trip with as she is very familiar and enthusiastic about this entire region of Africa!
We would recommend Pauline and African Crested Rat Safaris to anyone…including our adult kids and their spouses!! Their prices were very reasonable as we searched many different companies! Their service was better than we could have imagined! Pauline is a real gem of a person…knowledgeable, caring, patient, and dedicated to making her clients happy!!!

A wonderful guide and host
I have known Geoffrey for many years, first as a colleague within the safari industry, and more recently as an independent guide. He is an extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and capable host whom I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a trusted local, an intuitive guide and a roadworthy 4x4 - and for whom booking with the guide directly is a priority. He has taken wonderful care of me and my family and friends on safari in the Maasai Mara and Amboseli, always avoiding the crowds and bringing out the very best of the destination, with deep inside experience. Geoffrey stands as a beacon of hope for other aspirational local guides wanting to start their own businesses, and I wish him well
