They get it!
My recent safari in Akagera National Park was nothing short of exceptional — a beautifully curated experience that blended adventure, comfort, learning, and genuine connection with nature.
From the very beginning, Alicia’s planning was outstanding. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and it was clear she truly understands her guests — not just what they want to see, but how they want to feel during their time in the park. The balance between game drives, relaxation, and the camping experience was perfect. The campsite itself was wonderfully set up: comfortable, atmospheric, and immersive without sacrificing the magic of being in the wild. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature and waking to the African sunrise was unforgettable.
A very special thank you to my guide, Godfrey. His depth of knowledge, patience in teaching, and genuine love for wildlife elevated the entire experience. Every sighting became a story — not just about the animals themselves, but about ecosystems, behavior, conservation, and the broader landscape. His passion is infectious, and his warm, engaging conversation made every drive both educational and deeply enjoyable.
Akagera is a remarkable park, but it is the people — planners like Alicia and guides like Godfrey — who transform a safari into something truly extraordinary.
I cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

Best Rwanda Safari
In February 2025, my friend and I had an incredible Rwanda safari with Wild Sage Travel. Our trip included time spent in Akagera National Park and gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Both were truly memorable in their own ways.
Isaac, our guide, was friendly, warm, professional, and dependable. He knew every road like the back of his hand and seemed very connected to Rwanda's guiding network. He seemed to know someone at every turn, and those people constantly told us how lucky we were to have him as our guide! Game drives in Akagera were excellent. Isaac seemed to have encyclopedic wildlife knowledge and intuition.
Alicia-Rae was a wonderful hostess and co-safari partner. She brought so much positive energy to the trip. She introduced us to her favorite boutiques, road stands, shops, lounges — and even her gym! She made Rwanda feel welcoming and accessible while helping decipher Rwanda's complex history, lending crucial context to our visit. She curated the perfect accommodations for the trip — memorable and atmospheric. We asked for a tenting experience in Akagera and they set up a complete campsite, building a cozy fire and cooking rolexes for breakfast. We appreciated that she was willing to creatively mix five star lodges with clamping.
Anyone traveling Rwanda with this magnetic duo is in amazing hands. Together, you can feel their passion for conservation and reverence for wildlife. They are an upstanding example of ethical travel. Our trip was what it was because of them.
Thank you, Isaac and Alicia-Rae! Hope to travel with you again in the future.

Unforgettable Rwandan Adventure with Wild Sage
We had an incredible trip with Wild Sage in October 2023, exploring Akagera National Park and Volcanoes National Park. The entire journey was perfectly planned and executed.
In Akagera, staying at Karenge Bush Camp was a highlight, but nothing topped our elephant encounter around the vehicle. Our guide, Isaac, was phenomenal—his calm, knowledgeable guiding made the moment feel safe and respectful.
In Volcanoes National Park, the hike to Dian Fossey’s grave was a powerful experience. Sharing this safari together as friends was made even better by Wild Sage’s thoughtful, conservation-led approach. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful and seamless African adventure!

Amazing Safari Experience in Rwanda, we loved traveling with Isaac and Alicia!
I traveled to Rwanda Wild Sage to Akagera and Volcanoes National Park, and they picked the best accommodation for us. We stayed at Karenge in Akagera, and Sambora in Volcanoes, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for better properties. They were both 10/10. Isaac was an incredible safari guide, and Alicia was amazing at doing all of the organization for us before we arrived. I could not recommend a better tour operator in Rwanda for your safari needs!
