We had an unforgettable seven-day safari in Uganda with Abantubo Safaris and couldn’t have asked for a better team.
A huge thank you to Nickson for creating such a well-planned itinerary and ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, allowing us to relax and enjoy the adventure.
Our special thanks go to Jimmy, our driver and guide, who looked after us brilliantly throughout the entire trip. His driving was excellent — no small achievement on some of Uganda’s more adventurous roads — and his wildlife-spotting skills were exceptional. He went out of his way to make sure we saw the species we were most excited about.
Jimmy was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. For seven days, he was our driver, guide, wildlife expert and general keeper of two very happy tourists!
Every day incredible wildlife encounters brought something memorable. We had an amazing experience from beginning to end and would wholeheartedly recommend Abantubo Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Uganda. If you’re lucky enough to have Jimmy as your guide, you’ll be in excellent hands — his expertise, care and enthusiasm helped make our trip truly special.

Wonderful trip
Some initial communication hitches with head office but our guide Samuel was lovely, knowledgeable and very professional. He strived to ensure we had a smooth trip, nothing was too much trouble. The activities were incredible. We had a wonderful time.

We had a truly memorable safari with Abantubo
My adult daughter & I travelled through Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda on our 15 day Safari. We saw the most amazing landscapes and animals. Gorillas passed in front of us while we were trekking for golden monkeys, we saw a week old elephant baby surrounded by its mum and aunties, we saw three leopards and, amazingly, lions mating and so many more thrilling experiences We were exceptionally fortunate that our guides, William & Deus, were experienced, had a wealth of knowledge, were personable, helpful and knew the best way to find animals- close enough but safely. They gave us lots of fascinating information about their habitats, reproduction numbers and threats. We learnt so many new names. We actually can’t remember them all but it was just wonderful to see all the animals and birds. We opted for mid-range accommodation and it was more than comfortable & adequate, the food was delicious and plentiful. In some cases it was all really exceptional. The staff at the lodges were always helpful and friendly.
We had some hiccups with our plans (either airline or my issues!) Abantubo & our guides helped to organise us out of these situations. We appreciated the support on the road as Westerners travelling in a very new & different land.
It was just the best holiday with so many memories and unique experiences. 15 days was a good period of time, though we missed Africa in our guides when we had to leave. I highly recommend a Safari with a Abantubo.
