Wonderful experience!
4/5

The itinerary was great because we got to experience different national parks, each unique on its own. Distances are long and roads can be slow to travel, but at the end it was worth it. Accommodations are ok for the budget you're paying. There were some details at our last lodging with our shower but nothing to be very concerned of. The guide was very good, he knew everything about the places we were visiting, we just didn't like when we would make unannounced stops where we weren't told what was going on as everyone is speaking Swahili and we're stuck in the van.

Paid for the budget safari and I got it
4/5

THe difference between a budget safari and a costlier one is in the accommodations, food offered. and transportation method. Low budget offers tents, same meals every day, and hard road time. On the highest end, you fly into the parks and avoid the "african massage" from the potholes in the road. HOwever where you end up going, is exactly the same spot.

I too my 73 year old mother on the budget safari. Joe was our driver and guide. He found all the beautiful creatures that made our safari amazing. My mom took to the African massage allot like everyone else in the tour van, what choice do you have? Our Route to masai mara was okay, not too long, but the second leg to Lake Nakuru was a long drive day. Flamingoes are no longer at Nakuru and migrate someplace else now. Lake Nakuru to Amboseli was a very long day. In retrospect I'd add an extrs day and spend it near Nairobi, then finish the drive to amboseli the next day.

I'm vegan and found enough to be filled. The point of a budget safari is to see the animals, we achieved that, the simple food, tents, colder showers, and bumpy roads are all part of the low cost. I can endure all that, but make sure the drive time each day is acceptable when planning. I blew it in that department.

BTW: everyone says I brought back the most amazing pictures. Over time , you forget the bumpy road time and remember the highlights.

Great management & customer service, finished with a top safari experience
4/5

The initial corresponding speed & efficiency with George was just excellent. For exactly the same looking specs & itinerary when compared with other tours the price Right Choice Tours & Safaris quoted was also the cheapest I could find. The overall experience of the safari itself was priceless. A tip for everyone, going to the Serengeti/ngorongoro region in May is a great time of the year as it being the end of the off peak season meant that the weather was ok, not many people & the recent days of rain has made ngorongoro grass & flowers just lush in beauty.

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is just for a few things:
-Part of the itinerary was changed last minute (although when I challenged this with George it was dealt with quickly)
-As there were only 2 of us we were joined with other tour groups, & a lot of hours were spent waiting for them to arrive to join us (although we all got on really well & had a great time)
-We were greeted by other members of the company we've not dealt with so far at our hotel who requested us to give the full payment in cash the day before the trip and when asked for a receipt we were not given one (I then challenged this with George who again quickly rectified this, but it's just good to note that the least customers would like is to receive a receipt as proof of payment when they have to give lots of money to people they've not met coming to their hotel).
-it would be great to give us a warning/information on the fact that we have to tip the safari drivers & how much is appropriate; we felt bad in hindsight as we wished we gave more to our first driver Lazarus who was so knowledgable & passionate, but we didn't know how much was appropriate until we spoke to other customers on the rest of our tour.

A special thank you to Lazarus our driver & Juma our cook who made our honeymoon wonderful.

6 Days Masai Mara/L.Nakuru/Amboseli
4/5

Right Choice was the best travel agent have ever travelled with. We conducted our itinerary by email and all arrangement were flawless since Mr. George was there for us any time and he made sure that were were satisfied and confortable with the itinerary. The arrangement were excellent accommodations, food and provided a professional and dependable drive who was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable about the park, flora and fauna.
The level of service was really phenomenal and their follow up at the end of the safari to verify that the services we received was excellent. I highly recommend Right Choice as the name suggests its the best choice I made.

Great experience with a good price.
4/5

Every information I received from Right Choice Tours & Safaris was correct.
George (the boss) is very professional and reliable. Tour guides were good. Accomodation was OK, just a little bit "basic", but good relationship between price and quality (Right Choice Tours & Safaris' offer was the cheapest I found in high season).
The only remark I can make is that the last day we leaved from Savana just a little bit earlier that what we agreed.
We suggest this operator.

seen a lot of animals
4/5

It was a great experience. Communication was easy and organisation very comfortable. Jakob the guide did his best to find a lot of animals. Though the bus was a bit old, and the road to Masai Mara is long and difficult.

Good local guide for Kenya, but choose someone else for Tanzania
4/5

Ok firstly lets get this clear first. These guys are a local Kenyan tour company, and not a UK or US based one. As such you need to accept some "Hakuna Matata" moments in exchange for a much lower cost. If you aren't willing to accept some inconveniences, then pay the extra money and go to a Western company.

Now I've gotten that clear, Right Choice are a good, respectable, honest and reliable local Kenyan tour operator. Charles (Opany), our guide, was amazing. Eagle eyed, knowledgable, and best of all just a good guy whom you can get along with. We had a great time and got some lovely viewing and photo opportunities. Also the places you go are really good for the money you pay. Ok you won't be staying Right Inside all of the big game parks, but you tend to be paying less than other company quotes for a lot of the same lodges/camps. They are seemed very flexible to cater to your wishes/budget which was great.

During our Kenya tour, they initially got the itinerary slightly wrong but George was more then happy to make sure it was amended to an agreed itinerary, with some alterations that actually suited the conditions for better viewing than we had originally planned. Word of advice to avoid any mistakes, make sure you have a typed itinerary that you circulate with ALL your correspondences, and make sure George agrees on this one. That should solve things. Also be aware that George is more then happy to tailor an itinerary to suit you, so don't be afraid to request specific changes after doing some google mapping, trip advising, and review trawling.

Now we did a Kenya/Tanzania trip with Right Choice. What I didn't realise is Right Choice don't have a license to operate in Tanzania, so they outsource to Kili Slopes safari company for Tanzania. These guys were ok, the accomodation was on par with Kenya but our tour guide, although lovely and found us some more great photo and viewing opportunities, was less outgoing/engaging than Charles and as such was a bit disappointing in comparison.

Overall I would recommend Right Choice safari's (in particular for Kenya).

Good operator, reasonably priced and very responsive
4/5

Right Choice was the most responsive operator I found and they followed up on all my questions and suggestions in a timely manner. The tour costs were extremely competitive for what you get and they were very flexible on customizing the tour. For instance, I asked that I did not want to go over Likoni ferry on the way from Tsavo to Diani and we worked out a back route bypassing Mombasa altogether. As an aside, if you are planning to go to Masai Mara, make sure you choose a 4wd.

Warm responsive operator, great on ground experience
4/5

We decided to go with Right Choice and we were not disappointed. To start with, during our planning stage, George was most reponsive. He answered each and every query with patience, understanding and reassurance.
I'm glad to say that the trip exceeded our expectations. Jacob, our guide and driver was perfect. He seemed to know the Masai Mara like the palm of his hand. He was most cordial, got us to see all the big 5 and much more. He answered all our questions and quite endeared himself to the group with his sincerity and sense of calm.
George advised and guided us in choosing the right camp and that really helped too. The Camp was nice with clean beds, clean toilets and nice ambience overall.
Just one key area which we found wanting was food: We were accompanied by a cook whose food or services are not much to be talked about. Clearly hygiene was lacking. I came down with a dysentry and so did our guide, on the very 1st day of our trip. Thanks to a Doctor in the nearby village, I was back on track. Meals were rather dull and the cook clearly lacked imagination.
We did give our feedback to George after our trip was over and he was very positive in receiving the feedback. Full points to George and Jacob for a most memorable trip.
I wouldn't mind going again with Right Choice. As George says "you can book with confidence".
