Remarkable safari tour
We booked a safari with Velanti Safari covering Masai Mara and Amboseli, and we were fortunate enough to spot the Big Five. The view of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the plains in Amboseli was breathtaking. Staying in safari tented camps was a truly unforgettable, immersive wilderness experience.
Our guide was knowledgeable and worked hard to track wildlife. The vehicle was well maintained for the rough, dusty park roads.
That said, we encountered one conflict during the trip. Our party of five shared the vehicle with two guests from another separate booking. We had different expectations for the schedule and itinerary, which caused a disagreement between our groups. This was a tricky situation arising from mixing two independent groups in one car with different plans.
Overall, it was a remarkable African safari adventure with amazing wildlife sightings. If you share a vehicle with travellers from other bookings, be prepared for differing preferences on the schedule.

Regarding your concern about sharing the vehicle, we would like to clarify that the safari booked was a group safari, rather than a private safari. On a group safari, guests may join or leave the group at different points along the itinerary, depending on their individual booking arrangements. When additional guests join the vehicle, they become part of the same safari group and continue with the agreed programme and itinerary.
In this case, the five of you and the two additional guests were travelling as one group safari, with the other guests joining you during the later part of the itinerary. It was therefore not arranged as two separate groups with independent itineraries.
That said, we sincerely apologize for the frustration and disagreement that arose during the safari. We understand that sharing a vehicle with other travellers can sometimes lead to different expectations regarding timing, activities, and the pace of the day. We regret that this affected your experience and appreciate your understanding.
For travellers who prefer complete control over the schedule, route, and pace of their safari, we always recommend booking a private safari, where the vehicle and itinerary are exclusively dedicated to their party.
