Begin your adventure with a 05:00 a.m. pick-up from your luxury tented lodge and transfer by Jeep to the balloon launch site. After a safety briefing, watch the balloon inflate and at dawn lift off as the sun rises over the Serengeti. Your pilot adjusts altitude for treetop views or higher panoramas, offering stunning photographic opportunities of wildlife below. The flight lasts about an hour, followed by a traditional champagne celebration and a full English bush breakfast “Out of Africa” style. Receive your Serengeti Balloon Certificate before continuing on a full-day game drive in the Seronera area, a true wild paradise home to hippos, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hyenas, Thomson gazelles and, depending on the season, the great wildebeest migration. After breakfast, descend into the world’s seventh wonder, the Ngorongoro Crater. This spectacular caldera was formed by the immense movements of the Earth that created the Rift Valley. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including the “Big Cats,” and over 400 species of birds. Enjoy a game drive inside the crater until late afternoon, with opportunities to see all of the Big Five—Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Buffaloes, and Leopards—as well as many other animals such as Hippos, Zebras, Wildebeests, Cheetahs, Hyenas, and Thomson’s Gazelles. After the game drive, ascend to the crater rim and continue to your lodge in Karatu, where you will arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge.

After breakfast, depart with your picnic lunch for Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its lush greenery and incredible birdlife. This enchanting park features dense acacia forests with giant fig and mahogany trees, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. It hosts a wide variety of wildlife including buffalo, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a Hippo Lake where large numbers of hippos gather. Lake Manyara is also famous for climbing lions and flamingos along the lakeshore. Game drives along the lake provide stunning views of animals in the foreground with the lake, flamingos, and flat plains on the horizon. In the afternoon, return to Arusha and be dropped off at your hotel of choice, marking the end of a fabulous trip with us.
